WEEK ZERO: MINGLE (43 remain) Rise and shine, gremlins. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and it's the start of a new week. Speaking of new, if participants turn on their PHS, they'll notice another section available. There's also an alert for a new message, titled TEAM ASSIGNMENT. Opening it will reveal which Leader they have been assigned to. Furthermore, at the corner of the PHS screen is an icon of an animal, depending on who their Leader is. It is visible only to them and no one else. That's not the only change, though. Participants may not notice at first—or perhaps they will?—but sooner or later, they may realize that they're... missing something? Strange. Three Leaders can be found around the area, open (?) to approach. If participants want to speak to them more privately, or to an absent Leader, it looks like they'll have to go through another channel. Which is to say, the Planetarium is now open! Finally, for the rest of the week, the participants will inexplicably have the urge to be physically affectionate. That person you just met days ago? Time to cuddle! This complete stranger you ran into? It sure is tempting to hold their hand. This urge can range anywhere from minor to impossible to ignore, depending on the situation. Enjoy your bonding!

Are you asking me because you know I cook? Who says I'm gonna cook for forty people? That sounds like effort.

[ a beat. ] What are you thinking, like a full Candlenights spread, or.

[riegan]

(He's absolutely ready to argue his case! But Lup seems to give in a little bit? So he rolls with it,)

Nothing formal. I can't imagine people here being too picky as long as there's good food and good company. I wouldn't want to make you work too hard.

[evocationary]

They don't get to be picky if they're having someone play mom for them.

[ she says, dryly. ] Someone was stupid enough to put metal in the microwave, which leads me to believe nobody should be allowed in the kitchen period.

[riegan]

Yeah, I heard... It would appear the culprit is still at large, too.

(Ahem.)

Anyway, it's early. Why don't we discuss over breakfast? Or are we already limiting who can go into the kitchen?

[evocationary]

[ ANYWAY, claude says, suspiciously,

lup just gives him a look. ] ... You're on thin ice, buster. But sure. Breakfast. Coffee. Give me the beans.

[riegan]

(You have no proof the microwave is fixed now and the evidence is gone thanks to X many threads cleaning up the scene of the crime)

Then I better get off of it quickly. (TO THE KITCHENS THEY GO,) Coffee, huh? That sure is popular around here... I'm more of a tea person.

[evocationary]

[ :knife: ]

I'll drink either. Coffee just makes my third eye open. [ sniff. ] Am I making breakfast for you, is this what's happening. I'm going to start charging.

[riegan]

Does that mean this one is on you, then? Thanks.

(He would never turn down a free meal.)

Ah, I can help though. Just tell me what you need.

[evocationary]

[ oh my god, come here, she's going to attempt a noogie. he's taller than her, but that's fine, she will yank him down if she has to. it's affection! ]

This is your food tax, smart alec.

[riegan]

(What is this??? He knows he's casual for a lord. He's so carefree that it drives the other lords up the wall but even this is a surprise for him. He doesn't expect someone to just yank him down and give him a noogie????)

Ah! (he's not in control of this situation.) What are you--

(His flabber is gasted.)

[evocationary]

[ the lords have no power here, only noogies ]

Food! Tax! [ she says, loudly, and does, in fact, noogie him for a good few seconds before letting him out of her headlock. ] Help me make pancakes, dingus.

[riegan]

(Once free, he's quick to stand up straight again and run a hand through his hair in a vague attempt to fix it. He isn't too fussed about his appearances (he knows he's hot stuff) but he still cares about how he looks because... well, he's still a noble after all.)

R-right.

(He's totally frazzled and the proof is the fact he just... doesn't say anythign and just goes to gather some things from the cupboards? Mixing bowl and all that jazz.

[ she's never seen a dude so shook from a noogie, it's really funny. what a nerd. ]

I don't know, as many as I feel like before I get bored. [ she says flippantly. ] Go get me the flour, too. While you're over there.

[ she's squinting at the stove. and also bossing a whole-ass noble around? it's fine. ]

[riegan]

(Yeah yeah he's def a nerd

But he's also a good kid so he's going to reach for the flour while he's here too!!)

Hopefully that means more than one or two.

(He's hungry in the morning! It's important to start the morning off right with a big ol` hearty breakfast.

Also despite being a noble, he actually does know his way around the kitchen and he's just going to start grabbing other things like sugar and all that jazz. Is it weird for a noble to be this cool with making his own meals? Maybe but he's he's not like the other nobles!!)

[ he is a good kid, she appreciates it. probably. ]

It's at least one. [ she agrees, glancing at him as he nyooms around the kitchen. this is great, she doesn't even have to move. she just waits for him to bring her the goods. ] You cook often?

[riegan]

I wouldn't say often but we were expected to help out a bit around the monastery. Of course, there were some guys who tried to get out of it but I didn't mind. To tell you the truth, it was one of the more interesting things.

(He always liked experimenting with the different dishes! And he learned about cuisine from a handful of other nations too. Really, it was fun.)

You're right on that count. [ she says, head tilted back as she tries to visualize her recipe in her head. ]

The monastery? Are you some kind of priest?

[riegan]

(Oh, no, he's laughing.)

Hahaha! Yes, I can see why you might think that but no. Actually, if things had gone differently, I think think they would be glad to finally get rid of me.

(Ahem,)

The school I go to is funded by the Church. They offer us board and lessons and in return, we grow up to be the strong, devout nobles.

[evocationary]

[ she figured there had to be some sort of extenuating circumstances because claude is as much of a priest as... hm. as someone? she pauses. frowns. and then shakes her head. anyway. ]

Oooh, bummer. Sounds like the kind of place that requires an eight p.m. bedtime.

That's right, I wake up to pray and thank the goddess every morning.

Oh, you're one of those. A morning person. [ she says this like it's disgusting. ]

As long as you're quiet leaving the room in the morning I don't care.
