WEEK ZERO: MINGLE (43 remain) Rise and shine, gremlins. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and it's the start of a new week. Speaking of new, if participants turn on their PHS, they'll notice another section available. There's also an alert for a new message, titled TEAM ASSIGNMENT. Opening it will reveal which Leader they have been assigned to. Furthermore, at the corner of the PHS screen is an icon of an animal, depending on who their Leader is. It is visible only to them and no one else. That's not the only change, though. Participants may not notice at first—or perhaps they will?—but sooner or later, they may realize that they're... missing something? Strange. Three Leaders can be found around the area, open (?) to approach. If participants want to speak to them more privately, or to an absent Leader, it looks like they'll have to go through another channel. Which is to say, the Planetarium is now open! Finally, for the rest of the week, the participants will inexplicably have the urge to be physically affectionate. That person you just met days ago? Time to cuddle! This complete stranger you ran into? It sure is tempting to hold their hand. This urge can range anywhere from minor to impossible to ignore, depending on the situation. Enjoy your bonding!

Ruoye! [ that was what felt odd!! xie lian realizes why lup was calling out to him, finally, and the bandage straightens like it's going to be caught. busted. ] I'm so sorry, usually it behaves so much better than that...

[ she's about to steal ruoye from xie lian is what's going to happen. she tickles it's... head, or whatever serves as such. ]

It's not magic.

[ WHAT IS IT, THEN, XIE LIAN? I think all of us had something from home in our rooms, no? Ruoye was waiting for me.

[ as ruoye proceeds to wiggle its bandage end while it's getting tickled, it then starts to wind loosely around her wrist. ]

[ that makes sense. she's thoroughly pleased by it winding around her wrist. xie lian has to be careful or she is going to steal this wiggle boy. ]

Ruoye, huh. [ she says, petting the bandage around her art. ] If it's not magic, what is it?

[dianxias]

Would you believe me if I told you I'm not entirely sure?

[ xie lian says this with a sheepish laugh. ruoye seems unaffected, and chooses to boop lup's fingertips and continue its wiggling up her arm so it can go up and rub her cheek. ] I'm not the one powering it, though: it has a life of it own.

[evocationary]

[ she makes a squeaky sound and laughs at being nuzzled. it's super dorky and she doesn't care. ]

Yeah, yeah, I'm seeing that. [ she says, tucking ruoye under her chin. ] Well, it's mine now. Thanks.

[dianxias]

[ oh!!! he laughs when she does, pleased. ruoye is absolutely delighted, and is now more on lup than it is on xie lian, just loosely wrapped around his wrist. it continues to nuzzle up against her chin when placed there. yay! cute girl. ]

I'm sure it would be delighted to be your companion, your highness, though I would have it to be temporary... it is very important to me, you see.

[ she completely forgot about the royalty thing, which makes this even funnier. ]

I'm not familiar [ lol ] with the term... but, Ruoye has been by my side now for ...

[ he pauses, doing some mental math. ] Um, eight centuries? Goodness, that's a long time.

Aw, man, you're old as balls too -- [ she starts, and then pauses, squinting. ]

Wow. That's how old Huarr Cheng is. [ yes, she meant to say huarr. ]

"Huarr Cheng...."?

Yeah, like - the pirate?

[ the look on his face is the one of someone who has zero thoughts in his head. ]

I see.... [ do you? ] -- oh, you're talking about San Lang!

[ mii music intensifies ]

If San Lang is the ghost pirate guy with the eyepatch in red robes, then yes. That's Huarr Cheng.

[ cute. his face lights up, and xie lian nods! ]

Yes! That's him. I've heard him called many names, but "Huarr Cheng" is a new one... [ it's a good name! he doesn't get the reference really but good for him.

wait. ] Now that I think about it, I guess we are around the same age...

[evocationary]

[ she is still cuddling ruoye, but she's just going to inch her way over to xie lian. ]

It's because he's a pirate. Arr.

Well, he's been called many things, but a pirate is a new one!

[ honestly he's just thinking she's going to return ruoye so! ]

[evocationary]

[ well, ruoye can return if it wants but lup is going to just wrap an arm around his waist and sidehug him. and just settle there! ]

He seems like the sort of dude that has been called a lot of things, but like, rude things. Which I, personally, enjoy.

[ ruoye does, indeed, return to xie lian, who is being.

hugged. he looks very confused, his cheeks starting to turn pink. ] ...Um... that's...people do say to him often.

[ ...actually this is kind of nice. ]

[ yeah, she doesn't mind it! she'll just stay here. ]

So are you guys friends, or.

[dianxias]

Yes! Certainly. [ a beat. ] At least, I think so. He's very important to me.

[ thankfully, the distraction of hua cheng makes him slightly less embarrassed? give him a minute as he realizes what's going on. the side hug isn't too bad... his cheeks turn a bit redder, but all things considered xie lian is handling this quite well. ]

We've been traveling together on and off for a little while now.

[evocationary]

Cute. [ she says, glancing up at him. haha, his cheeks are pink! that's great. ]

You seem like you're important to him too, as far as I can tell. He deffo knew I was talking about you when I mentioned you.

Oh, he did? Well, I'm glad.

[ you get the feeling that xie lian has no idea the weight of that kind of statement. ]

We did come from the same world, after all. I can say that I'm quite glad that San Lang is here - he's very capable.
