WEEK ZERO: MINGLE (43 remain) Rise and shine, gremlins. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and it's the start of a new week. Speaking of new, if participants turn on their PHS, they'll notice another section available. There's also an alert for a new message, titled TEAM ASSIGNMENT. Opening it will reveal which Leader they have been assigned to. Furthermore, at the corner of the PHS screen is an icon of an animal, depending on who their Leader is. It is visible only to them and no one else. That's not the only change, though. Participants may not notice at first—or perhaps they will?—but sooner or later, they may realize that they're... missing something? Strange. Three Leaders can be found around the area, open (?) to approach. If participants want to speak to them more privately, or to an absent Leader, it looks like they'll have to go through another channel. Which is to say, the Planetarium is now open! Finally, for the rest of the week, the participants will inexplicably have the urge to be physically affectionate. That person you just met days ago? Time to cuddle! This complete stranger you ran into? It sure is tempting to hold their hand. This urge can range anywhere from minor to impossible to ignore, depending on the situation. Enjoy your bonding!

One of your friends said the Realm is forgetting things and that we're supposed to get nova! No one mentioned us forgetting things!

And these aren't my own urges. I don't get into horsebutt trances! It has to be something going on here.

We're not friends. [ how is that an important notion. ] They should've mentioned it. The longer you're here, the more memories you'll lose. We're slowing down the process as much as we can, but whatever's affecting the Realm-- we're all inside of it, too. So it affects everyone here as well.

[ ... yeah they're ignoring the bit about his urges. they don't want to know about hugs? disgusting. ]

Does that include you?

Sort of. Our memories are already gone. Haven't got much more to lose.

[frostythehitman]

All of them? How? When? How long have you been here?

[retellers]

Part of an agreement with the Realm. We traded our memories to slow down the process for the rest of you, as well as connect directly to it. [ and then, after a beat, dryly; ] Kept the memory of that agreement, though.

[frostythehitman]

So you got here before we did, knew we were coming, and then just...let us get dropped in here along with you guys, instead of trying to keep it from happening?

[retellers]

How, by asking it nicely to stop? Realm was gonna bring people no matter what we did.

[frostythehitman]

[ He wants to punch the Realm. He wants to punch the Realm so bad right now. God he fucking hates when he's up against forces of nature or whatever. They're so much harder to punch. ]

Fine.

That still doesn't tell me when you guys got here and how you even made this deal in the first place.

[retellers]

We got here about a week before you guys did. And... [ well, it's difficult to tell with the mask, but wolf looks annoyed ] Can't remember making the deal, only that we agreed to it.

[frostythehitman]

Do you remember anything?

[ Okay, deep breaths. Calm. Let's be calm. He's capable of calm. ]

So you guys get dumped here, make some deal with the realm to lose your memories so that we can go fix it when we get dumped in here too?

[retellers]

Do I have to explain what memory loss means to you?

[ wolf is helping. ]

But that sounds about right.

[ are you sure you're a wolf? because you're really coming off more like an ASS. ]

Great. So we're all at the mercy of this realm. You'd think if it wanted saving, it'd try to get us to get it done as quick as possible.

Yeah. Guess we can't expect much from a sentient... whatever this is. [ is this an agreement. wow. ]
