WEEK ZERO: MINGLE
WEEK ZERO: MINGLE (43 remain) Rise and shine, gremlins. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and it's the start of a new week. Speaking of new, if participants turn on their PHS, they'll notice another section available. There's also an alert for a new message, titled TEAM ASSIGNMENT. Opening it will reveal which Leader they have been assigned to. Furthermore, at the corner of the PHS screen is an icon of an animal, depending on who their Leader is. It is visible only to them and no one else. That's not the only change, though. Participants may not notice at first—or perhaps they will?—but sooner or later, they may realize that they're... missing something? Strange. Three Leaders can be found around the area, open (?) to approach. If participants want to speak to them more privately, or to an absent Leader, it looks like they'll have to go through another channel. Which is to say, the Planetarium is now open! Finally, for the rest of the week, the participants will inexplicably have the urge to be physically affectionate. That person you just met days ago? Time to cuddle! This complete stranger you ran into? It sure is tempting to hold their hand. This urge can range anywhere from minor to impossible to ignore, depending on the situation. Enjoy your bonding! |

sky
Uh... what?
[ go to sleep sky ]
no subject
Aurora borealis. The living sky.
Have you ever seen it?
no subject
Um... no. Skies don't really live where I'm from. Well. Not the sky itself, but... things live in it?
no subject
Yes, we have birds, too. [she ASSUMES he's talking about birds???]
That's a shame to hear, though. It's one of my favorite thingsāalthough I'm told it happens more in our country than in those to the South.

[ this is so awkward. ]
How does it work?
no subject
[she's very amused. extremely pure. good boy.]
Well, they flap their little wings...
no subject
I meant the sky! I know how birds fly!
no subject
You wanna know?
no subject
I wouldn't have asked if I didn't want to know!
[ look he's all ruffled now ]

she stretches a hand out, sweeping it across the sky above them.]
Among my mother's people, the talking skies are believed to be a beautiful message from those that have passed on, speaking to us. It's the light you can hearāand the magic you can feel.
For my father's people, it's a bit more scientificāa solar wind, and our skies, producing the light as they clash.
[she lets that linger in the air between them, then smiles again.]
As for me... I think it's a little bit of both. Maybe there's space for science in magic, and magic in science. What do you think?
no subject
I thought it was more... literal. With a voice.
[ this seems more abstract. anyway, embarrassment intensifies ]
I don't know? We don't really have magic where I come from... at least, not the way everyone's been describing it.
no subject
[linking her hands behind her back, she bumps her shoulder familiarly into zuko.]
We don't normally have it where I come from, either. I'm the only one. So... don't worry.
no subject
[ honestly a talking sky seems sort of creepy. it's always watching.... ]
Oh, yeah? Just you?
no subject
[she seems okay with that, though.]
Just me and my ice--well. I suppose I do work with a few others, but I don't think ethereal beings really count.
