WEEK ZERO: MINGLE (43 remain) Rise and shine, gremlins. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and it's the start of a new week. Speaking of new, if participants turn on their PHS, they'll notice another section available. There's also an alert for a new message, titled TEAM ASSIGNMENT. Opening it will reveal which Leader they have been assigned to. Furthermore, at the corner of the PHS screen is an icon of an animal, depending on who their Leader is. It is visible only to them and no one else. That's not the only change, though. Participants may not notice at first—or perhaps they will?—but sooner or later, they may realize that they're... missing something? Strange. Three Leaders can be found around the area, open (?) to approach. If participants want to speak to them more privately, or to an absent Leader, it looks like they'll have to go through another channel. Which is to say, the Planetarium is now open! Finally, for the rest of the week, the participants will inexplicably have the urge to be physically affectionate. That person you just met days ago? Time to cuddle! This complete stranger you ran into? It sure is tempting to hold their hand. This urge can range anywhere from minor to impossible to ignore, depending on the situation. Enjoy your bonding!

Of course, there's cooking but there's also making invitations, cleaning, moving the furniture around... especially if we're going to have music. There are a couple of singers here, it would seem.

Really? That's a relief. I was worried no one would want to do the heavy work. (And he laughs a little to himself,) I've grown accustomed to people trying to get out of that.

[ that's part of why she's used to it. it tends to get hoisted onto her either way. ]

But joke's on them, it's the easiest part.

If you say so. (Doubt,) I can't say I' too fond of it myself but sometimes if you want to get something done, you have to do it yourself.

Forgive me. I know the whole point of the feast is to get to know each other but it would probably help to introduce myself now. You might have seen the profiles already but that's no substitute for good manners.

(And he is nothing but polite, of course!!! He raises a hand to his chest and gives a small bow. Nothing fancy! Just something quick and casual,)

[ she laughs lightly. she should perhaps be a little more respectful, but oh well. ]

Everyone here is so generous with food. [ well. the food seems plentiful, so she kind of means 'with their time' because they all keep feeding her or making sure she eats. ]

You wanna be anyone different from usual?

[ she kind of already feels that way - just being in a place so different from what she knows. although, when it comes to what people do with an abundance of resources... ]

I usually just see people try to hoard them.

(Guess who's not gonna answer that first question? This guy. What he does do is give a shifty little glance off to the side and smile in response. Really, that should be enough to guess what his answer is.)

That isn't normal. (Just saying how it seems. There's usually not much of a need to squirrel away food unless you're expecting to not have more later,) Is food particularly difficult to come by where you're from?

[ hm. she frowns a bit at that; she doesn't love vague answers. but she knows he doesn't owe her anything, so she brushes past it. ]

Yeah. Food, medicine, gas, bullets. They're all... Rare. And the places with enough to go around tend to come with some fucked up rules.

It sounds like a harsh life. I'm sorry.

(He's had his share of struggles in the past but running low on basics was never one of them.)

At least for now, there's plenty to go around so enjoy what you can. In fact, why don't we get some breakfast now? (She hadn't really mentioned being able to cook so,) I can prepare something for us.

Right - yeah. It would be stupid not to take advantage of this while I can. I can make my own food, though. You don't... Have to cook for me or anything.

[ she can't cook anything more than very basic stuff but. still. ]

I don't mind. Why don't we make something together? We can chatter away and get to know each other while we're at it.

(A team effort! He might be a noble but he actually enjoys cooking.)
