WEEK ZERO: MINGLE (43 remain) Rise and shine, gremlins. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and it's the start of a new week. Speaking of new, if participants turn on their PHS, they'll notice another section available. There's also an alert for a new message, titled TEAM ASSIGNMENT. Opening it will reveal which Leader they have been assigned to. Furthermore, at the corner of the PHS screen is an icon of an animal, depending on who their Leader is. It is visible only to them and no one else. That's not the only change, though. Participants may not notice at first—or perhaps they will?—but sooner or later, they may realize that they're... missing something? Strange. Three Leaders can be found around the area, open (?) to approach. If participants want to speak to them more privately, or to an absent Leader, it looks like they'll have to go through another channel. Which is to say, the Planetarium is now open! Finally, for the rest of the week, the participants will inexplicably have the urge to be physically affectionate. That person you just met days ago? Time to cuddle! This complete stranger you ran into? It sure is tempting to hold their hand. This urge can range anywhere from minor to impossible to ignore, depending on the situation. Enjoy your bonding!

I've done it before. Usually the moogles can figure out something to do with it. [that's a completely different thing. but also. ugh.]

[ He has no idea what a moogle is but it sounds like one of those affectionate insults you call friends. ]

[ Thank god he already water ballooned somebody and it wasn't with Sora's condom so he can totally promise this. ]

Sure, sure, it's a promise~ Wanna pinky swear on it, or is my word good enough?

[he does not respond but he does stick out his hand with his pinky extended. we're doing this. we're making it happen.]

[ Oh god, we're really doing this.

Kano shakes his one of his hands free from his pockets, and links his pinky with Sora's. It is very slightly damp. ]

What a thing to ask!

[ That hand gets pulls back and stuffed back into his hoodie pocket. ]

Maybe I have a sweating problem and I'm very sensitive about it, leave me alone.

Wouldn't leaving them in your pocket just make them sweatier?

No? There's fabric in my pockets.

[ Maybe! if he didn't wear a hoodie literally all the time!! but no, the hoodie stays ]

[that's not helpful. also i hope they're just walking and getting lost further in the woods because they're arguing about kano's sweaty hands.]

What about gloves? [he holds up both of his hands and wiggles his fingers. his arm guard things cover the backs of his hands and the bottoms of his palms, but it's the principle.]

[suddenlybees]

[ Oh yeah, they're going to stumble right into a bear den in the next two tags. ]

Isn't that, like, worse than pockets? Your palms get all sweaty and then it'll chafe- how're they supposed to breathe?

[reconnective]

[stop.]

You can get gloves that let your hands breathe. It just means they're less sweaty and you can get a better grip on stuff. Besides how are you supposed to do anything with your hands if they're in your pockets all the time? You have to take them out and put them back in constantly.

[suddenlybees]

Yeah? You gotta move your hands no matter where you—

[ It is the second tag and the next step Kano takes past this tree his foot slips on the sloped ground and he goes sliding ten feet down a bear den, goodbye. ]

[reconnective]

[oh. well goodbye! there's a startled yell from sora as kano slides out of sight.]

Kano! [and then the stupidest part is that he willingly slides down ten feet into this bear den to follow after him. they're going to die i guess, farewell!] Are you okay?

[suddenlybees]

[ TEN WHOLE FEET, SORA who's going to stay up on the surface and toss them a rope now?

All the way down at the bottom, Sora crashes into Kano who hasn't gotten off the ground yet, but the moment he does make contact, a hand slaps him on the cheek.

shifts to cover his mouth. Sorry, it's too dark and his vision hasn't adjusted to the darkness yet. ]

Shh.

[reconnective]

[it's fine he can jump probably. sora collides into kano and he walks backwards on his hands to give him space. except no, kano's hand is moving and ow? he brings a hand up to slap kano's right back.]

...we should leave. [he makes no signs of moving, but he's also trying to adjust to seeing in the dark. mr. bear, are you home....please say no.]

[suddenlybees]

[ There is a large dark fuzzy bear-like shape down at the end of the tunnel. The light from above reflects off two bright brown spots. They really should move.

Kano keeps his hand clamped over Sora's mouth because shut up???? and glances up towards the entrance. Slowly, he removes his hand from Sora's mouth. Makes a fist with it. Makes a fist with his other hand. Places one fist over the other. ]

[can't believe we're going to be the w0 casualties. either way they really, really should move. kano's hand is over his mouth and he raises his eyebrows, turning to look at the entrance behind them.

and then kano's making handgestures, and he has no idea what the heck that means, so he gives him the most confused look possible before he holds his hands in front of him, moving each as if he's climbing a ladder.]

[suddenlybees]

[ It's— never mind, Sora's charades are easy to interpret because Ty is kind and explains things.

Kano nods and elbows Sora towards the entrance, where there is decidedly not a ladder that had miraculously appeared for them to climb up of. But there is a stepladder. Which is Kano linking his fingers together to make a step to give Sora a boost up and maybe they can manage the ten feet up. ]

[#helping. but as he glances back at the bear he takes another step toward the entrance, looking at kano's hand. it's worth a try, at least, and there's a nod before he steps up into kano's hand.

he might be surprised to find that with the boost sora's able to jump and clear several feet before latching on to part of the slope to begin crawling his way up. he'll look back down at kano then, using his head to try and gesture upward. the implication is that if kano can't climb, he'll come back for him as soon as he reaches the top but who knows if that translates.]

[suddenlybees]

[ Kano stares upwards at the entrance and doesn't move. It doesn't look like he has any inclination to go back up...

He smiles, and turns around into the darkness. ]

Kano! [it's hissed just loud enough for him to hear.] Where are you going!?
