WEEK ZERO: MINGLE (43 remain) Rise and shine, gremlins. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and it's the start of a new week. Speaking of new, if participants turn on their PHS, they'll notice another section available. There's also an alert for a new message, titled TEAM ASSIGNMENT. Opening it will reveal which Leader they have been assigned to. Furthermore, at the corner of the PHS screen is an icon of an animal, depending on who their Leader is. It is visible only to them and no one else. That's not the only change, though. Participants may not notice at first—or perhaps they will?—but sooner or later, they may realize that they're... missing something? Strange. Three Leaders can be found around the area, open (?) to approach. If participants want to speak to them more privately, or to an absent Leader, it looks like they'll have to go through another channel. Which is to say, the Planetarium is now open! Finally, for the rest of the week, the participants will inexplicably have the urge to be physically affectionate. That person you just met days ago? Time to cuddle! This complete stranger you ran into? It sure is tempting to hold their hand. This urge can range anywhere from minor to impossible to ignore, depending on the situation. Enjoy your bonding!

[Meanwhile, Yona gives up on yanking it free, and instead kneels down next to where the mallet is connected to the game. She pulls something out of her cloak and ... gets to work trying to disconnect it!

She kind of grunts. It's easier said than done. This could take a while.]

[lecarre]

[Is the music getting louder? It feels like it's getting louder.

Ange winces and raises her voice a bit to be heard.]

We must try something...!

[She tries to pry it open.

This works no better than it did when Rufus tried.]

[soulus]

[This almost feels like a slight against him when she's operating under the assumption that he neither tried nor succeeded for lack of strength. Even he has some measure of pride.

Rufus stands off to the side behind her, inhaling and then exhaling quietly. Where is Yona?]

[dawnblushed]

[Yona is doing unspeakable things to whatever is connecting the mallet to the Smac-a-Mole game.]

Come off already, you..!!

[lecarre]

[Yeah... Ange has nothing. She just turns to Rufus, then checks her pockets.]

... What do we do?

I hope Miss Yona didn't get waylaid...

[soulus]

Given that it's her, it's a possibility.

[He doesn't check his pockets. He knows what's in there, and it's not money.]

Why don't we search for the other items while we wait?

[WHAT IS THAT SUPPOSED TO MEAN.



Anyway she is very grumpily continuing to try to detach the mallet... and eventually, she manages to! She tucks whatever she was using back under her cloak, holding the mallet up to glare at it.]

You better help us get that case open.

[Okay, give her a second to catch her breath, then she'll head back.]

[lecarre]

[Good luck, Yona.]

Oh, yes...! The star charm should not be so hard to find--it may even be in here, by the other charms and um, dangly things. [keychains. the word she wants is "keychains".

Anyway time to go look at the shinies.]

[soulus]

Those are keychains.

[Yona could be coming back anytime, so Rufus takes care not to stray too far. Fortunately, the charms are close enough. They'll be productive yet.]

[dawnblushed]

[And lo, Yona returns, brandishing the mallet. The wire dangling from the handle looks like it's been pretty roughly hacked up at the end.]

Look! I found something to smash the case with!

[lecarre]

[Just as Ange turns with a star charm dangling from her fingers--!]

Oh-- Miss Yona, you're back!

[A beat. She chooses to ignore the mallet for now.]

Do you think this is the right star, Mister Rufus?

[soulus]

. . . Is that from the arcade?

[That's where she went. Incredible. He turns to Ange.]

If it's wrong, we'll find out soon enough.

[dawnblushed]

Yes.

[Well, they seem occupied with the star, so she'll wait to see how that turns out before she proposes more gratuitous destruction of property.]

[lecarre]

[She shrugs a little, touching the star itself--and then it disappears into burst of sparkles.

Which.

Startles her.

Enough that Ange stumbles back into the rest of the keychains.

Thankfully, it's a sturdy stand, so she doesn't knock anything over, but. Wow.]

[soulus]

[She's upright and nothing has fallen over, so he doesn't bother to ask if she's all right. Instead he studies the space where the star had just been.]

It appears that your intuition was correct.

[dawnblushed]

[Yona reaches out to try and help steady Ange as she thankfully doesn't knock anything over. Yikes.]

That didn't hurt, did it?

[lecarre]

Oh, no, I'm fine! Thank you!

[She smiles brightly at Yona first, before she nods, determination in her expression.]

That is one down... I suppose we should next focus on the shirt...?

[soulus]

[Yes, please. Rufus has already headed back to where the shirt awaits liberation. It's Yona's turn now.]

[dawnblushed]

[Does this mean she gets to smash it? She is so ready. Yona follows Rufus back to the case, still holding onto the mallet.

She's kind of eyeing the case to try and figure out where best to hit it... and once she makes up her mind, she nods once and rears back with the mallet to strike!]

[lecarre]

[Ange, too, was following with a skip in her step. After all, they found one item already! They are Doing It!!

Anyway it means she's too close and wasn't expecting Yona to rear back quite so fiercely.

It totally hits her in the face, and she yelps, stumbling backwards with her hands pressed to her nose. She is absolutely bleeding WHOOPS.]

[soulus]

[Rufus is directly facing Yona at a respectable distance when this happens, allowing him a largely unobstructed view of Ange's misfortune. He doesn't look too amused. Is something like this going to occur every time?]

[dawnblushed]

[URK.

Yona drops the mallet immediately.]

Ange! Oh no! Are you okay?!

[Time to run and grab one of the t-shirt's that they're not looking for to mop up the blood!!]

[lecarre]

[THANKS YONA.

Ange just mumbles something that's muffled behind the shirt, which is at least doing a pretty good job of keeping the blood off of her clothes.

mumble mumble mumble.]

[soulus]

. . . It sounds as though she'll be fine.

[At least it proves that Yona has the strength to swing the mallet to remarkable effect.]

What about the case?

[dawnblushed]

[glances at the case, and -

it's intact. yona makes a face.]

Unfortunately, it looks like the case will also be fine.
