WEEK ZERO: MINGLE (43 remain) Rise and shine, gremlins. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and it's the start of a new week. Speaking of new, if participants turn on their PHS, they'll notice another section available. There's also an alert for a new message, titled TEAM ASSIGNMENT. Opening it will reveal which Leader they have been assigned to. Furthermore, at the corner of the PHS screen is an icon of an animal, depending on who their Leader is. It is visible only to them and no one else. That's not the only change, though. Participants may not notice at first—or perhaps they will?—but sooner or later, they may realize that they're... missing something? Strange. Three Leaders can be found around the area, open (?) to approach. If participants want to speak to them more privately, or to an absent Leader, it looks like they'll have to go through another channel. Which is to say, the Planetarium is now open! Finally, for the rest of the week, the participants will inexplicably have the urge to be physically affectionate. That person you just met days ago? Time to cuddle! This complete stranger you ran into? It sure is tempting to hold their hand. This urge can range anywhere from minor to impossible to ignore, depending on the situation. Enjoy your bonding!

[Blinking, he turns to glance down the aisle in the direction Lup points. Will he regret this? Probably. Is he going to be a gentleman? Absolutely.

So he goes to retrieve it for them. It's a key!]

[It is covered in glitter. And also, now he is covered in glitter having picked it up.]

... It looks like someone was trying to do arts and crafts with it.

[ there's glitter EVERYWHERE. ]

I'm going to be covered in glitter for the next year. [ she says, dryly. ] Well. I guess that's one down.

[ she pushes a bunch of trinkets aside. ] So that means we have the anklet and like, the movie - do we have any ideas on where the movie might be if it's not here?

[papasha]

[He holds it... pinched between two fingers? This does not stop the glitter from sticking wildly to everywhere, including places on his clothes nowhere near the key.]

Mm. [He is thoughtful for a moment.] The inn perhaps?

My guess was the arcade. That's where all the screens are.

[ but there is that computer in the inn...? she does not know and just. shrugs. she stands up and tries to dust some glitter off of herself. it doesn't really work. ]

[ i'm so glad they're all gonna be covered in glitter for trial. ]

We can check both, but like, none of the arcade machines have disk drives. [ she's just going to live with the glitter. ]

Hmm. [ she nudges stuff out of the way with her foot. ] Hey, girly, did you check under the shelves?

Let's check the inn, and then we can go to the arcade if we don't find anything. How about that?

[He has brought the key back over to them, as well as himself, as well as ALL OF THIS GLITTER. He peers at Clementine a moment,

and then reaches up to pinch her nose very quickly and briefly with his glitter hand. Now she has a glitter nose.]

I glanced down, but I didn't... Crawl around looking or anything. Probably should, though.

[ which she's about to go do before Blanca pinches her nose? she flinches away from him, making a face, then tries to rub the glitter off with her sleeve. now there's just glitter on her sleeve too. perfect. ]

[ BLANCA. lup is super amused by this. ]

Glitter demon. [ lup says, falling backwards to look underneath the shelves. like literally falling backwards, she just flops. ]

[Listen. Clem is so grown up, and he wants to tease her gently. He holds both of his (glittery) hands up in surrender, the key pinched between a few fingers and his palm.

He's done, he swears.]

If it was on one of the displays, it could be anywhere on the floor.

[stillnot]

[ there's no point in trying to flick glitter on him when he's the source of it. and yet. she shakes her wrists off towards him. >:(

then crouches down to start looking under shelves... aaand... retrieves an anklet? wow amazing. ]

Uhh. Was it this thing?

[ lup sits back up, pushing her hair back out of her face and just getting glitter wrecked through it. ]

That looks like an anklet?

[papasha]

I think you found what we've been searching for.

[He offers a very glittery hand out to Lup to help her up off the floor. For the price of.....more glittery hands.]

Allez hop, Miss Taako. Will you hold onto it for us, Miss Clementine? Let's find the movie, and then we're finished.

[stillnot]

[ she nods and dutifully pockets it. ]

Two out of three. This is easy.

[ she takes blanca's glittery hand and hoists herself up - and then promptly puts both hands on his face to cover him in more glitter. ]

Punk'd! [ she says cheerfully, before nyooming off to clementine. she's going to take clementine's hand and hold it, unless clementine knocks her away. sometimes the affection curse is Real Present. ]

[papasha]

[ah

He closes his eyes under the onslaught, surprised enough to go rigid, but doesn't do anything to stop it. The glitter. They'll never get any of it off. This is fine.

He takes up the caboose behind them again.]

After you, ladies.

[ hm. okay, guess they're holding hands now. that's fine. obligatory mention that clem is missing her left ring finger past the first knuckle. ]

... So if this is all it is, why do you think they couldn't just do it themselves?

[evocationary]

[ oh, that's neat. stop losing fingers. ]

That's a very good question. [ lup says, with a sniff. ] Which is why I was saying it's gotta be monsters that we're going to have to fight? Scavenger hunts that take maybe thirty minutes tops seems like busywork that any bunch of scrubs could do.

[papasha]

[Blanca is going to be gray. YOUR FINGER. Please, someone help Clem become a normie.]

They could simply be seeing if you would accomplish even the smallest tasks well as a team. Working together and all.

[stillnot]

[ if it's any consolation she lost it like. years ago. it's fine! ]

You're probably both right. So... I hope we're good at killing monsters as a team, too.

I'm not exactly a team spirit sort of gal, but I can be talked into it.

[ she's gonna swing her and clementine's hands as they walk. the hotel isn't far! ]

[Hm. He does not say anything to either of these things. But what he DOES do is reach between them and around to pinch Lup's nose like he had done Clementine's earlier.

And then he points ahead of them (between them) at the hotel ahead.]

[ HA clem is glad it wasn't just her that got her nose pinched. but she also is too ~*~mature~*~ to race, so she just lets go of Lup's hand in case Lup wants to run? and gives Blanca a look.

... she may also have been somewhat embarrassed by the hand-swinging. that's not important. ]

[ she does not want to run, but she is greatly offended by her handholding being interrupted. rude.

anyway lup takes that nose pinch and only barely misses licking blanca's hand as it passes. now she has glitter up her nose. great. ]

What if I'm already a rotten egg? [ lup says, taking a few steps forward so she can walk backwards in front of them instead.

[They are RUINING his opportunity to see them race away while he casually dad walks after them. HIS TRICK! Can't believe they would all rather walk.

He is disappointedly amused.]

[He offers Clem a stage whisper sort of wink.]
