WEEK ZERO: MINGLE
WEEK ZERO: MINGLE (43 remain) Rise and shine, gremlins. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and it's the start of a new week. Speaking of new, if participants turn on their PHS, they'll notice another section available. There's also an alert for a new message, titled TEAM ASSIGNMENT. Opening it will reveal which Leader they have been assigned to. Furthermore, at the corner of the PHS screen is an icon of an animal, depending on who their Leader is. It is visible only to them and no one else. That's not the only change, though. Participants may not notice at first—or perhaps they will?—but sooner or later, they may realize that they're... missing something? Strange. Three Leaders can be found around the area, open (?) to approach. If participants want to speak to them more privately, or to an absent Leader, it looks like they'll have to go through another channel. Which is to say, the Planetarium is now open! Finally, for the rest of the week, the participants will inexplicably have the urge to be physically affectionate. That person you just met days ago? Time to cuddle! This complete stranger you ran into? It sure is tempting to hold their hand. This urge can range anywhere from minor to impossible to ignore, depending on the situation. Enjoy your bonding! |

It depends on where you go within the alliance but warm, pleasant, mostly plains and mountains... My house is in Derdriu which is by the sea. Really, I lucked out. It's probably the most beautiful city in Fodlan. The way it's set up, you'd think it was floating on the sea.
(Yeah, just gonna talk about the sights instead of... the politics.)

That sounds beautiful. A little like my family's castle, actually—it's situated on the fjord, with only a bridge connecting it to the rest of the town.
[she sighs gently, and smiles.]
I guess we both lucked out, huh?

Mmm. (He hums,) I remember when I arrived in Derdriu, I thought I was in some sort of magical land.
(Perhaps a little shyly, he laughs. He probably sounds like a little kid fawning over something new and exciting,)
I take it you're from a northern region, then?
(Fjords, Snow Queen Emerita, ice powers? Yeah.)

But it sounds like you didn't grow up in Derdriu... did you have a lot of brothers and sisters?
[depending on the ruling family, that often led to, like, a couple of them being secreted away just in case of... well, just tin case.]

Hahaha, no, it's only me. I was raised by my father and mother outside of Derdriu. There was... an emergency and I left to be with my grandfather.

That obvious, huh? ( Of course. ) Yeah. My uncle was his heir but he died in an accident. That’s when they found me.
I’ve only been heir for about a year.

[she's clearly sympathetic to his situation. not everyone wants to be a noble—a whole elsa mood.]

(Really! He was shook!)
Hmm... I wouldn't say that exactly. I think if I'd said no, my grandfather wouldn't have been able to make me. My mother and father would have never let him take me.
In the end, I chose to go but not without some pushing. (A beat,) I didn't really fit in where I was before.
no subject
I can't imagine that. You seem like the sort of person who'd fit in easily anywhere.
Just look what you've managed her, Mister von Riegan.

Do I? I'll take it as a compliment, but it's true.
(He could elaborate more... and yet, he doesn't.)
This sort of thing just shows how well people can get along if we're just open to and accept each other. No one cared where I came from or what my lineage was but they gave me a chance to show them what I could do. I won't forget this.

[it's nice!! even if she doesn't want to dance!]
I hope nobody forgets it. If we all have to be here together... it would be ideal if we actually got along.
