WEEK ZERO: INVESTIGATION (?? remain) On Friday morning at 7am, all the doors will unlock and the participants may traverse between areas again. Participants will find that, as they leave wherever they slept, everything feels... unclear? Did they see whoever they were with? They can no longer remember. Even for those who spent the night alone, they can feel that something is off. It doesn't seem as though the Leaders are around. However, an alert will notify the participants to a new message on their PHS. Hello everyone. Apparently something happened last night while everyone was asleep. We're not sure what's going on, but there has been a huge disturbance with nova and the six of us are going to check it out. But it seems like something also happened in the town. Can you all please go and try to find the source of it? Sorry for troubling you! Time to investigate. ༶•┈┈⛧┈｡o°✥✣ 　　 ✣✥°o｡┈⛧┈┈•༶ Welcome to your first investigation! We will be posting top-levels for searchable locations—one set at 6pm EST and another set at 7pm EST. Each location will contain evidence to find, though it's up to your efforts as to whether you find all of it. Please coordinate investigation groups on Discord, as we ask that group threads consist of no more than 2-3 characters. We will stop tagging each top-level two hours after it went up, i.e. at 8pm and 9pm EST, respectively. Don't worry if you don't find everything! Characters will get the chance to revisit locations tomorrow at trial. At 9pm EST, an announcement will go up, confirming the victim(s). [ There are no monsters here, alas. Though there is one thing immediately obvious in the railroad station whether they are inside the entrance or outside of it; one of the windows seems to have been broken. Or maybe there was always an empty space where that window should be? Hmm. Nothing else jumps out as wrong at first glance. ]

A monster would be a welcomed sight. It's been way too quiet here!

[ Pausing as she sees those scratches. ]

Did you try to pet a cat or something?

[ Okay, time to go peek at the window. What do we have here? ]

Huh? Is this normal?

[ she's also looking at Rufus's face in concern... but she focuses on the situation for now. Is there any glass around the outside of the entrance, or is it all on the inside? Or maybe there's no glass at all?! Weird. ]

I don't like this feeling.

[The cuts are a touch thicker than those served by domestic cats, but they're not important right now. Reasoning that they can talk through the empty space, Rufus enters the railroad to approach the window from the inside.]

[ From the inside, it's clear the window was broken, though there's only a few stray pieces of glass on that side. Fiora's looking at both, though, and so when she checks outside she'll find that there is indeed glass here! Scattered on the ground near the window. Look closer? ]

[ Time to look closer... at Rufus. ]

You know, it's pretty weird how you didn't answer that. Did something embarrassing happen or did you piss someone off?

[ Okay okay... if Fiora is getting a closer look, she'll follow her and check it out ]

C'mon, let's focus. Something must have crashed through here.

[ she will crouch down to look closer! is there blood on the glass... did a person go through the window. ]

I woke up like this.

[There's nothing off about the glass shards here, is there? He visually inspects the window itself, including its border and sill, before exiting to rejoin the girls.]

[ Nothing off about the glass shards inside! There's just not that many of them. Very few, in fact. The majority seem to be outside.

Looking through the glass shards outside, they won't find any blood. Though most of them are rather big, so it's not like the window was shattered to pieces. They will also find... a rock, a little further from the shards. ]

Huh? What kind of coward would sneak into someone's room to scratch up their face like that?

[ Okay time to go check out that rock outside. What is the rocky situation here? ]

Looks like someone decided to vandalize the place.

I wasn't at the inn.

[He walks over to appraise the rock with Cater. How does the immediate area, like the ground, look here?]

[ It looks like... there's glass shards! There's no disturbance around the ground outside of that. The rock seems like a regular rock, if one that likes to hang out in glass shards. It could've easily been picked up anywhere. There's nothing on it, either. It's a comfortable, heavy weight in their palm should they choose to hold it. Perfect for throwing. ]

[ Is there any blood or anything on the rock or just the glass there? ]

Maybe you should have. Where did you sleep? Did anyone else get messed up or are you special?

While you were sleeping? Rufus...

[ sounding concerned... in any case, she's going to look at the rest of the station. How are the turnstiles and benches? ]

[soulus]

[He stares at Cater before following Fiora into the station. He passes through the turnstiles and gives the immediate area a once-over, particularly in the vague path that would lead to the broken window from the ceiling to the walls and floor.]

[ The rock is normal! As are the turnstiles and benches. A general once over will tell Rufus that there's nothing out of place save for the broken window, it looks like. ]

[pulsecannon]

Hey! Answer me.

[ She has a rock and isn't afraid of using it. For now though...she'll pocket it.

How far did the rock land? ]

Did they really get us all out here over just some broken glass?

[bisouled]

That can't be right. People have been making bigger messes around here this week.

[ hmm... how about the bathroom. Fiora's going to go poke over there. ]

[Then he'll check out the ticket machines. Are they still functional with nothing amiss?]

It may be all that's relevant to this location.

[ The rock landed a few feet from the window, where the smallest glass shards were. It's in a perfectly straight line from the window.

The ticket machines and the bathroom are both fine! Nothing out of place here, either. ]

Maybe it was a string of incidences or someone tried stealing someone's reward? We'll see after we talk to everyone else.

[ Also she isn't checking trash cans or anything. ]

I suppose we are... There's nothing over here, either.

Someone breaking a window isn't really cause for this much alarm. Something's fishy.
