WEEK ONE: INVESTIGATION (?? remain) On Friday morning at 7am, all the doors will unlock and the participants may traverse between areas again. Participants will find that, as they leave wherever they slept, everything feels... unclear? Did they see whoever they were with? They can no longer remember. Even for those who spent the night alone, they can feel that something is off. It doesn't seem as though the Leaders are around. However, an alert will notify the participants to a new message on their PHS. oh n Time to investigate. ༶•┈┈⛧┈｡o°✥✣ 　　 ✣✥°o｡┈⛧┈┈•༶ Welcome to your second investigation! We will be posting top-levels for searchable locations—one set at 6pm EST and another set at 7pm EST. Each location will contain evidence to find, though it's up to your efforts as to whether you find all of it. Please coordinate investigation groups on Discord, as we ask that group threads consist of no more than 2-3 characters. We will stop tagging each top-level two hours after it went up, i.e. at 8pm and 9pm EST, respectively. Don't worry if you don't find everything! Characters will get the chance to revisit locations tomorrow at trial. At 9pm EST, an announcement will go up, confirming the victim(s). [Yoshizawa is already here when they arrive, looking a little... unwell? Though, maybe that's because curfew happening again has freaked her out. She has a bag slung over her shoulders, moving carefully as she goes to approach the others.]

Um... Yes. [Uncertainly, casting a cursory glance around the plaza. What do we have here?] Here?

[ I'm punishing you all because I said in the announcement to start in whichever location was noted first in the header!!

Which is to say I'm ignoring your tags, you're at the Emporium. What now? ]

[ NEVER MIND THEY DON'T KNOW TO STOP IN THE PLAZA I'M SORRY

ANYWAY Jeanne is looking over the Emporium by the entrance, right where a pony statue is, trying to see if there's anything out of place there, but she glances over at Yoshizawa with some concern, too. ]

Are you all right, Yoshizawa?

[HATE US. but yeah, sora's following along and he goes past the entrance while jeanne's looking at the pony but he turns his head just enough to address yoshizawa as well.]

Let us know if you want us to take care of anything. Don't push yourself.

[she found a body last week :( so. sora's going to venture forward and he's checking the cash register counter, both the top and even behind it. if that doesn't net anything though, he's going to see if he can go look at the windows that display in the front of the store.]

I, I'm fine. [Visibly spooked, though.] Please, don't worry about me. There are more important matters right now.

[Since Jeanne has the exterior and Sora is checking the counter and windows, Yoshizawa will venture further inside to check the shelves, moving slowly and carefully as she does. Unless there's something smackdab on the floor when they enter, is there anything visibly off in the shelves? Or hiding between the items on them? She will gently push things aside if there's nothing immediately visible just to make sure. If there's nothing at all, then she will move to inspect the display cases.]

[ Well, there sure is something as soon as they enter! The Emporium is a mess. Shelves are toppled over, pin bowls have been dumped on the floor, merchandise is all over the place, and the keychain stand has been knocked over. Closer to the entrance are a handful of keychains: SAMANTHA, KAREN, REGINALD, and SASUKE.

The pony statue is probably fine, though. Unfortunately. As are the windows. ]

That doesn't mean we can't worry about you, too.

[ Oh. Bad. Especially that Sasuke.

Jeanne goes over to the keychain stand and the keychains, bending to get a closer look at them. Is there blood on them? Or any damage to it other than just, knocked over and scattered? ]

There must have been some kind of fight or chase.

She's right. [and he's gonna worry! he's going to try to open the cash register before ducking under the counter to look. if there's nothing, he's going to start trying to sort through things, opting to try and start standing the shelves up. can he do that? is there a pattern to the shelves being knocked over like someone trying to block a path, or is it all just a mess that's too hard to see?

maybe there's something under the debris from the shelves on the floor...]

Funny kind of chase. They'd have to go in a circle in order to get back out, don't you think?

[Oh... Yikes... As much as she appreciates the concern, there are other pressing matters, so. Uh. Time to worry more about that.

Are the walls and ceiling fine? Let her kin Aki by checking that out. While the other two do their thing, though, she will move to look at the pinbowls and assorted merchandise on the floor. Is there anything hiding under the chaos? Also: How far away is the merchandise from its original spot? Like, does it look like someone yeeted it or were they just knocked over?]

It would depend on where they started, right...?

[ No damage to the keychains! Other than yes, anything you'd expect from being knocked over.

Sora can reorganize the shelves if he wants, although nothing will come to him as he does. The mess is of no discernible pattern.

Either he or Sumi, as they look under the mess, will find a bloody "I <3 New York" t-shirt. Also, the walls and ceilings are fine, and it just looks like stuff got knocked over, rather than yeeted. ]

It looks like things just got knocked down, but I'll walk around the perimeter to see.

[ She's going to check Sora's theory and see if anything stray is around the edges of the store. ]

Did you two find anything in there?

[no blood or anything on the shelves, right? as he's picking stuff up, he does...notice the shirt.]

Uh...well...there's that. [how bloody is bloody? can he see from here? or how big it is? he will let yoshizawa do heavier investigating of it if she wants.]

Nothing was thrown as far as I can tell, either.

[But, uh. Sora's word catch her attention, and she turns to look at.......... that. Ah.]

... Oh, no.

[Since Sora isn't going for it, she will go take a closer look at the shirt. How is it positioned? Any blood on the ground around it? What exactly will she see by Perceiving it? Once she's gotten a good look at it in its original position, though, she will carefully pick it up, holding it between her thumb and index finger in case there's anything gross hiding inside or under it.]

[ Nothing unusual around the edges of the store. Maybe more Mess.

The t-shirt size is a large. It's just dumped on the ground. There are bloody streaks and pool of blood in it, and maybe a bit of blood on the floor underneath it. ]

Was that simply discarded?

[ She looks over and that's very concerning, but she can't do anything with a bloody shirt, so. ]

I don't see anything odd other than whatever mess was caused, so I will look outside. I trust you two to find what remains.

[ Heading outside to THE PLAZA WHERE THEY DEFINITELY WERE NOT IN EARLIER WHAT'S UP

is anything amiss upon stepping outside the emporium? ]

[there she go. he nods and he's going to frown suddenly when he rereads the shirt, but he doesn't say why.]

Do you want me to grab that? [so most of the blood's on the shirt, right? is there a distinct kind of pattern to the streaks or anything?

...also is the castle-set-up of souvenirs all over the floor, etc? if there's nothing else to note he'll start to motion for yoshizawa to follow him to follow jeanne.]

[Is the t-shirt damaged in any way, or just bloody? When you say pool of blood, is it like........... a large stain or are you saying it's literally soaked and dripping in blood? If it's the former, is it stained on both the front and back or just on one side?

She nods at Jeanne's question, though. Concerning. Shirt, wyd?]

... It's alright, Sora-san. I can handle this much. But, thank you.

[She's not sure where else to check, so that's fine. If there's nothing else suspicious in the area where the shirt was found, she will follow Sora outside.]

[ The streaks are... streaks. Are you thinking of anything in particular, Ty! And also yes, souvenirs errywhere.

It's like a large stain, maybe. Don't take my word for that, if we say something different in trial tomorrow, go with trial. But probably both sides?

Anyway, they head outside. A short distance away, in the plaza, they'll see a figure lying on the ground, with short blond hair. ]

Sora! Yoshizawa!

[ Running for the body! Her eyes are peeled as she hurries to the body.

Is there anything of notice around said body? Things strewn about? Blood splatters? ]

[I PHRASED THAT BAD SORRY more like does it look like someone was bleeding and dragged while wearing the shirt, basically, but the large stain meta answers that i think. that's a lot of blood what the hell. anyway, he nods to yoshizawa and picks up his sword to begin leaving, holding the door open for her.

except he hears jeanne and then sees the body.]

Oh no. [UH?] C'mon! [he will also run! but he's glancing around the plaza itself, checking the fronts of the shops they pass, the rooftops, and the ground just in case there's something they're about to trip over.]

She sucks in a breath, faltering in her steps when she sees what has Jeanne so agitated.]

No...!

[AHHHHH. TIME TO SPRINT OVER TO THAT FIGURE. As she nyooms, nearly tripping over herself on the way, is there anything of note in their surroundings? On the ground or the buildings? God.]

[ There doesn't seem to be anything on the ground, except the lone body. As they approach, though, they'll be able to recognize it.

Alyssa Zaidelle is dead. ]

[ haha wouldn't that be wild. looking over alyssa's body reveals two things: one, that the figure in question has bruises and shallow cuts around her limbs in a spiraling fashion, some of which are still letting blood. not a ton, but still enough to be suspect? two...

alyssa zaidelle is alive, just sneepy. this wasn't part of the original plan at all but the mods said it would be funny.

[ Her expression hardens, but she drops to Alyssa's side and checks for her breathing. Jeanne lets out a small sigh of relief. ]

She's alive.

[HIS DISNEY HEART CAN'T HANDLE THIS AHHHH. he comes skidding to a halt, nearly tripping over his dumb shoes as he crouches down to get a closer look at her injuries. that's not great?]

Hey, Alyssa! Can you hear us? [we have no time for sneepy binch disease!!!! but he turns to the others.] Stay here, I'm going to see if I can find anything at the emporium we can use for her injuries.

[AND THERE HE GOES BACK TO THE EMPORIUM I GUESS]
