WEEK ONE: INVESTIGATION (?? remain) On Friday morning at 7am, all the doors will unlock and the participants may traverse between areas again. Participants will find that, as they leave wherever they slept, everything feels... unclear? Did they see whoever they were with? They can no longer remember. Even for those who spent the night alone, they can feel that something is off. It doesn't seem as though the Leaders are around. However, an alert will notify the participants to a new message on their PHS. oh n Time to investigate. ༶•┈┈⛧┈｡o°✥✣ 　　 ✣✥°o｡┈⛧┈┈•༶ Welcome to your second investigation! We will be posting top-levels for searchable locations—one set at 6pm EST and another set at 7pm EST. Each location will contain evidence to find, though it's up to your efforts as to whether you find all of it. Please coordinate investigation groups on Discord, as we ask that group threads consist of no more than 2-3 characters. We will stop tagging each top-level two hours after it went up, i.e. at 8pm and 9pm EST, respectively. Don't worry if you don't find everything! Characters will get the chance to revisit locations tomorrow at trial. At 9pm EST, an announcement will go up, confirming the victim(s). [ People don't usually write on chalkboard in sharpie, but it sure looks like that's what happened here? Actually, is it on the chalkboard on the wall at all...? Either way, it's written:

Homura will find some garbage on the ground. No, really. It's some empty ice cream wrappers. They're still a little sticky... ew. Now that she's down there, however, she'll see something else a little further on the ground if she wants to crawl there.

There's nothing on the desk for Alphinaud, but as he's not looking at anything else, he'll be the first to notice when the entire thing seems to ... glitch out. It almost looks like it's missing a chunk of it, and there's debris on the ground...? Is this scenario doing okay. ]

"Hurry it up"...? Is that an order, or a warning, or...

[Well... she'll check the rest of the wall/blackboard/virtual wall to see if she can spy anything else of note around the writing.

May... maybe this simulation will be lost if we take too long? Does anyone know how long these tend to last after the previous person has already left...?

[ also why ice cream. is it like the ice cream sandwich stereotypical astronaut food freeze dried type ice cream wrappers, or actual ice cream from elsewhere?

and, well, unfortunately she's already down here so she's clearly obligated to keep looking. i hope there's hidden barbed wire or something. ]

[ Alphinaud stares for a long moment. Did this just...? ]

I know not, but ware your step—I believe Homura may have the right of it.

[ Space astronaut ice cream. Would space astronaut ice cream be sticky? I don't know I haven't ever eaten it but I'm saying it could be for the sake of my jokes. Anyway, on the ground, there's ... a sharpie marker cap! Hmmm.

There doesn't seem to be anything else around or on the wall, though when it glitches through to that destructed version of the classroom, Ange will be able to see that it's written directly onto the wall. It was just very convenient the blackboard was there.

Also, yeah, Alphinaud, it definitely just. In fact, it does it again, longer this time, so both girls can notice it. It almost looks like a bomb went off in the classroom. It's the same one, but... destroyed. Hmm x2 ]

[UHHHHH.]

... This is... just the room that turns into holograms, right? Nothing in here could harm us. [RIGHT???]

Because it looks an awful lot like this place was destroyed in some way.

[ she'll just sit back and look up when she finds the sharpie cap. does it look like it fell in any particular way, or was it just dropped randomly? maybe the sharpie is embedded in the ceiling. also i'm glad she doesn't know the blackboard message is in sharpie yet, she does not see. ]

Maybe not for real, but when we were here the other day for Nova, what we felt seemed real... I'm sure if something was corrupted it'd be able to cause pain or distress without any actual harm...

[ then she pauses, and with good timing because wow that sure is. a glitch. ]

... If ... a real bomb went off in this room ... would it not scorch the real walls of the room? Or... just the holograms?

[ what the fuck. ]

[ Gods, he does not know enough about technology to answer those questions. ]

Continue searching—if it is real, then would traces of any explosives continue to exist outside the illusion?

[ He'll go inspect the walls and windows then, to see if anything weird glitches in again... or if there's a sign of any said explosives. ]

[ There's no sign of explosives! And, in fact, no sign of an explosion in the split second they get to see of the real VR room.

There's also no sign of the sharpie or of anything else in this room. There doesn't seem to be anything out of place left except for the simulation flickering between a room in two different states. Weird. ]

[she also does not know enough about technology for this.]

Um... we should leave the--er, the "simulation" alone in case others want to look at it, shouldn't we...?

[ nothing else on any of the walls, ceilings, both regular classroom 1, destroyed classroom 2, and blank vr room? homura's already near to the floor- nothing on the bottoms of the desks? because she's going to take the sharpie cap and astronaut food wrappers as evidence, then slowly get up ... she seems slightly not all there, but it's fine. ]

We should try to leave it, but I'm not sure how much control over that we might have? The control pad ... or, well, the pad near the entrance. Is that unaffected? Is it normal? I've seen technology similar to this before, but I don't think it works the same, so...

We should... um, check the technology lab. If there really was a bomb, then that would be a good place to start... But then again, the room wasn't damaged, so...

[ hmm what could it mean ]

... I am not familiar with this type of technology, I'm afraid—should you see something amiss, however, you must needs let us know.

But if there is naught else for us to find here, then let us away. We've more ground to cover.

[ Nothing on the walls or ceilings, no matter which version of the room! And the control pad near the entrance is also fine.

Moving on! The tech lab... is a mess. First things first, they'll notice that it smells a lot like chemical fumes, and there are broken jars all over the place. It's like a tornado went through here. Hopefully! None of these chemicals react together!

But maybe don't light up in there. ]

[Oh jeeze. Ange immediately covers her mouth with a sleeve, coughing a bit.]

Leave the door open... this place is a mess.

[Anyway!!

time to start with those broken jars, carefully. Anything odd about them? Any labels, anything left in them?]

[ well. would homura recognize any of the chemical fume smells specifically. this isn't proper lab safety at all but that's fine because no one practices that anyway.

she's also going to go over to the disturbed substances and chemicals, is there a distinct lack of any or some used up that she would be able to note?

also there's no scorch marks here either, right. ]

[ While they check out the chemicals, as Alphinaud once again is not well versed in any of that stuff, he'll glance around and see if anything else is out of place. Missing tools, anything else besides broken jars? ]

[retellers]

[ The broken jars seem pretty haphazard. There's stuff left from where they've been knocked over, and it looks like it was chemicals that could be found regularly in the lab out on a counter in the first place. There's no specific "wow! this smells like x gas!" because it's a bunch of them mixed in together. The girls will notice there's a bottle of lye that seems to be missing from its spot, though.

Over by the tools, Alphinaud will notice that there's two wires missing from the hanging implement, and two calibration weights from how many there normally are. ]

[Ange has no idea what to make of any of that, to be totally honest. She just makes a note of it and will leave it to the big brain people.

Either way, she'll move on to the safety equipment, etc. anything missing or out of place over here?]

[horologia]

[ just... lye. cool so we're looking for someone with chemical burns potentially.

but now that leaves the question of who uses the lab often, and who would leave things out on the counter because lab safety...

does it look like there was any particular pattern to the way things were knocked over? like a direction that might have been traveled through the room? no odd marks on any surfaces like the counters, walls, floor, or ceiling? ]

[ Ange will find there's a lab coat and some disposable gloves missing!

As for a particular pattern, now that she's looking for one, Homura might notice that everything seems to have been broken or fallen out in the same direction? There's no pattern to be found on the walls, floor or ceiling tho. ]

[lecarre]

[Hm... Ange turns back to the others at that.]

There are some things missing... Someone was at least careful with their dangerous chemicals.

[she's got nothing else tho.]

anyway now on the right character, for clarification is everything going toward, away, or parallel to the door? ]

[ Alphinaud nods. ]

As are some items from the workbench. Now the question is—who took them, and where did they go?

[ But yes otherwise .... clarification for mauyn time. ]

[ alphinaud finds a strand of curly purple hair and some longish blond hair which he would have seen earlier if i'd remembered, wow

And. To answer 45's question since she's now in this murdergame. Let's say parallel to the door? ]
