WEEK ONE: TRIAL

WEEK ONE: TRIAL
(38 remain)

Rise and shine, gremlins. Hopefully you found it in you to make and eat breakfast, despite yesterday's news. At 11am, everyone will receive a message on their PHS, simply stating:
empoti enp emporium. by the strike of twelve.

Shortly before 12pm, every participant will feel compelled to move towards the Emporium, if they aren't already there. No exceptions! Though they will have to navigate around shelves and merchandise and the like, everyone will fit neatly inside the room. Once all the participants are present and the clock strikes twelve, the doors lock behind them.

Three of the Leaders are there with them: Swan, Tiger, and Goat. Tiger speaks.

"You have nine hours. Try not to stab each other during them."

༶•┈┈⛧┈。o°✥✣ ✣✥°o。┈⛧┈┈•༶

Hello, everyone, and welcome to the second trial! For the next nine hours, the characters are expected to discuss among themselves, ask questions, examine the bodies of the victims, look over the evidence found yesterday, and revisit locations as needed in order to find the culprit(s). There'll be a one hour break from 5-6pm EST, where no mod tags will occur.

Before the trial is over, please remember to place your character's vote over on the voting page. Voting will close at 9pm EST/6pm PST, and will serve as our activity check for the week, so please be sure you get your vote in before it ends unless you have contacted us previously.

If you have any questions at any time, please let us know by pinging us on Discord!

There was, um, also a missing pair of gloves and lab coat and a missing bottle of lye from the laboratory.

Missing lye...

[WOW, he frowns.]

Lye is fairly corrosive depending on how you use it...

[personal profile] robopriest 2020-10-10 04:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Don't they use that to dissolve things? Someone could've used it to get rid of evidence...
papasha: francy made me these bc she's nice (b383)

[personal profile] papasha 2020-10-10 04:48 pm (UTC)(link)
[He nods.]

It's possible. If we find we're missing something, or a place we didn't think to check it could have been used.

You'd need a container for lye so you don't get it on yourself...so we need to look for a place where it was kept.

Hmm. The laboratory then, by Miss Ange's claims. A bottle was missing, so... if they didn't use it in the laboratory, they used it somewhere else.
frostythehitman: (fine but I WON'T LIKE IT)

[personal profile] frostythehitman 2020-10-10 05:03 pm (UTC)(link)
We found it in the engine room with a bloody lab coat. Haven't been able to figure out yet where it was actually used though.
robopriest: (ristretto)

[personal profile] robopriest 2020-10-10 05:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Was the lab coat dissolved in any way? Have we seen anything that looks like it was destroyed in that way?
frostythehitman: (talking with tom hardy lips)

[personal profile] frostythehitman 2020-10-10 05:16 pm (UTC)(link)
I didn't get too good a look at it, but no. So far I haven't seen any signs of lye usage around.
papasha: <user name="onetouchdonnie"> (003)

[His brows furrow.]

The engine room... Some lye can be used for soap; it gets rid of grease. But certain kinds can be corrosive enough to destroy things.

Even bodies, I'm afraid. Though I'm not sure there is a missing body.
frostythehitman: (confused but kinda smug about it)

[personal profile] frostythehitman 2020-10-10 05:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Trust me, the engine room was and still is plenty greasy.

What makes you think we're not missing a body?
papasha: <user name="onetouchdonnie"> (pic#14347643)

[personal profile] papasha 2020-10-10 05:19 pm (UTC)(link)
I suppose we could be, unless we do a headcount. It just... [He shakes his head.] It would take a long time, I'd think. To dissolve a whole body.

I feel as if we would have found evidence of something being left behind, whether lye or--ah, parts.
uhhhmagic: (reverse gravity;)

[personal profile] uhhhmagic 2020-10-10 05:21 pm (UTC)(link)
You think they could have throw it in the river or something? Washed away what was left. The lab weights were in there, right?

[personal profile] frostythehitman 2020-10-10 05:25 pm (UTC)(link)
We found a bloody saw as well. They might've chopped up the body to make it faster to dissolve.

lecarre: (You're shrinking.)

[personal profile] lecarre 2020-10-10 04:49 pm (UTC)(link)
That was, um, the only chemical that was missing, I think.

[He offers a reassuring smile.]

Thank you for your hard work, Miss Ange.
lecarre: (Sure I do... diaper lady.)

[personal profile] lecarre 2020-10-10 04:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Of course... We all must do our parts in moments like this.

Though... I do not think any of us was particularly suited to understanding what was happening with the--er, the VR room.
frostythehitman: (fine but I WON'T LIKE IT)

[personal profile] frostythehitman 2020-10-10 04:42 pm (UTC)(link)
We found the lab coat and lye in the engine room. The coat was bloody and the lye was at least partially used.
lecarre: (He growls of pleasure.)

[personal profile] lecarre 2020-10-10 04:46 pm (UTC)(link)
[eeurgh...]

I suppose they must have taken it with that intention, then.
frostythehitman: (i don't believe in jokes)

[personal profile] frostythehitman 2020-10-10 04:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Definitely. The question is just, where the hell did the lye get used? There might be a third victim whose body was destroyed.
lecarre: (What's worse? Lava or Tinker Toys?!)

[personal profile] lecarre 2020-10-10 04:54 pm (UTC)(link)
[MELTING BODIES...]

... But many bodies were found as well, right...? I do not understand why only one body would be disposed of in that way.

Perhaps it was used on evidence instead.
frostythehitman: (confused but kinda smug about it)

[personal profile] frostythehitman 2020-10-10 04:56 pm (UTC)(link)
We found plenty of evidence too--why destroy only some of the evidence that way?

It could be multiple killers. The other, or others, killed the two that we've found. But another one could've used lye to get rid of the body.
sacredchants: (pic#14335003)

[personal profile] sacredchants 2020-10-10 04:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Do you think we should ask the leaders if they can confirm the number of who died?

I know that they can't confirm the number of people who are responsible for this.
frostythehitman: (serious talking)

[personal profile] frostythehitman 2020-10-10 04:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Can't hurt to try, but it doesn't seem like they know much more about these murders than we do.

The safest bet would be to count everyone here ourselves, see if anyone's missing.
sacredchants: (pic#14166243)

[personal profile] sacredchants 2020-10-10 05:01 pm (UTC)(link)
No, I suppose not, and a head count with the people here would be easiest.

[ and thus curfew check was born. ]
