WEEK ONE: TRIAL (38 remain) Rise and shine, gremlins. Hopefully you found it in you to make and eat breakfast, despite yesterday's news. At 11am, everyone will receive a message on their PHS, simply stating: empoti enp emporium. by the strike of twelve. Shortly before 12pm, every participant will feel compelled to move towards the Emporium, if they aren't already there. No exceptions! Though they will have to navigate around shelves and merchandise and the like, everyone will fit neatly inside the room. Once all the participants are present and the clock strikes twelve, the doors lock behind them. Three of the Leaders are there with them: Swan, Tiger, and Goat. Tiger speaks. "You have nine hours. Try not to stab each other during them." ༶•┈┈⛧┈｡o°✥✣ 　　 ✣✥°o｡┈⛧┈┈•༶ Hello, everyone, and welcome to the second trial! For the next nine hours, the characters are expected to discuss among themselves, ask questions, examine the bodies of the victims, look over the evidence found yesterday, and revisit locations as needed in order to find the culprit(s). There'll be a one hour break from 5-6pm EST, where no mod tags will occur. Before the trial is over, please remember to place your character's vote over on the voting page. I've never heard of lye either, but it can, uh, dissolve bodies? I guess. So looking at who might've known that is a good start.

And I'd like to check out the VR room myself for other clues. If it was broken, then we might get an idea who set everything up.

Would you like to go together? Though I'd also prefer if we brought another person with more familiarity with technology.

It seems as though we might be looking for someone whose interests and expertise are a bit more modern - I would normally be less willing to levy that suggestion, but there aren't any books here, which would make it hard for me to discern what lye is on my own.

[and he's pretty sure he's the most voracious book worm of all the ye oldes, so the logic is 'if i don't know, then they might not either']

I'm pretty familiar with lye as it pertains to bodies, plus I'm the one that found it yesterday. And I'm no tech whiz, but I know my way around it.

Is it difficult to handle? Toxic at all?

Yes. It's corrosive to skin and a high enough concentration of it can dissolve human flesh entirely. It can explode in contact with water. And it can produce toxic fumes too if you're not careful. You need protective equipment to handle it.

Explode.

.... what are the symptoms of inhaling it without proper equipment?

It makes you feel like you're burning, especially in the nose and throat. If your eyes are exposed, they can burn too.

There was a 'lab coat', yes? But we haven't determined if other equipment was used. So we can see if anything of that sort was utilized, or if anything will be found if we check people for symptoms.

I would like to search for injuries on others just as a matter of thoroughness - but upon doing so, we'll need to pay special attention to eyes, nose, throat, and their hands, which may have been exposed if no gloves are procured.

Not sure who wore the lab coat though--the killer, or the victim. It was bloody.

Cater had a tear in her shirt, correct? It was likely the killer, I believe, unless the coat had tears in the same location.

Yeah. I think a third person would be really helpful, too. I've been in VR set-ups before, but they're still kind of new to me.

I don't think it's a bad idea to consider. We all come from a huge variety of worlds, so it would have to be someone familiar enough not to hurt themselves, too.

That narrows it down a little. Sort of.

Let's find a third person, and then we can check the VR room and get that covered.
