WEEK TWO: MINGLE

WEEK TWO: MINGLE (37 remain) Rise and shine, gremlins. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and it's the start of a new week. To the participants, yesterday's events may seem distant now—albeit not as distant as their life before this. Whether or not they notice, they will have lost a memory upon waking up. The barrier to the north is down, and beyond the bridge lies new areas to explore. Strangely, what was there last week seems to have been replaced overnight. That's not the only thing that's different, either. The participants will find that their lodgings have changed, and new buildings within the town have been unlocked. Finally, should anyone check their PHS, Cater, Sharon, and Kano's profiles have been removed. Three Leaders can be found around the area, open (?) to approach. If participants want to speak to them more privately, or to an absent Leader, it looks like they'll have to go through another channel. Furthermore, it looks as though the rules have updated. If you break the current ninth rule, participants will get shocked. It will be a mild shock at first, but the longer they touch each other, the stronger it will get. On that note, if your character did not share a memory last week, please make sure to check your notifs! Participants may also find that their memories of the past few weeks are getting fuzzier... as though they can't recall some of the details without focusing. Finally, this week, every time a participant gets within one foot of someone, they will experience the emotions the other person is currently feeling and vice-versa. This will last for ten seconds even after they've stepped out of their personal bubble, after which the sharing itself might share, but the knowledge will not. Have fun!

The thing is, I'm sure there's more going on with those two than "I want to kill someone". So writing them off as murderers and nothing more won't help.

I can share what I saw, but it's only half of the story. Alex and Sora have the other half.

That... yeah, examining the evidence could make it apparent we're missing things. Like the fact we had nothing that properly matched some of the body wounds.

Then we'd know we need to re-check an area from Friday.

Mhm. And... I don't know if it would be too hard to coordinate [oocly, anyway] but it might be worth bringing one person along who originally checked a location out when we revisit it. That way they could answer questions about what they checked the first time when we get a new pair of eyes.

Another thing... we should make sure everyone's items are brought to trial. Especially if they're weapons. So we can test them against potential wounds.

Also, I think it is imperative for us to consider what we shall do if we cannot pin down a culprit. Focus and improved planning are not guaranteed successes. We could still fail if our killers are able to slip through our advances.

[ she's just wandering the area, ignoring her limp and grinning at all the ships, or checking out the howling rose. she's not climbing! a lot! it's fine! ]

It's like something out of a movie! Hey, maybe we'll have to race ships this Wednesday! What do you think?

[ (gordon ramsey voice) finally, some good fucking first aid. despite her efforts to take it easy, the wounds are still bothering her, so she's... trying to replace the bandages them on her own. considering one of them is a shoulder wound, it could be going a little better!

catch her grumbling to herself: ] Couldn't that stupid monster hit me somewhere easier to reach?

[ that new rule is going to make this so hard, ugh! ]

[ she just doesn't want to believe anyone here is really a villain, but... killing people is something villains do. ]

I heart some of it from Sora. He said you guys were in a mansion?

...right. There's enough time between when we find the victims and when we start the trial that people could probably try to hide any weapons, but - if someone's suddenly "lost" something we know they had, that's worth keeping in mind, too.

We should keep a tally ahead of time, too. Less chances of something slipping through the cracks when we're on a time limit.

You mean the effects on Friday morning? Don't those usually disappear by Saturday?

...you're right. If we can figure out what to do before the trial starts, that would be better - then we won't waste time that could be used trying to find the culprit on yelling at people about being self-sacrificial.

Me too, but I think it's better if we make sure no one's left out of the loop. We can't work together to fix the disturbances if we don't all know what's going on.

...and we should keep more than one copy of the tally, too, in case anyone gets any ideas about trying to destroy it.

Does the new rule apply to you guys, too?

Yeah. At first all four of us were together, but then there were two different paths to take. Blanca and I took one, and Alex and Sora took the other.

The mansion itself was old and abandoned. I found some burnt logs in the fireplace that were from months ago. And then there were bits of glowing graffiti all over the place, which I thought was written by a ghostly child.

Eventually we did find ghosts, but they were rude and took the face of someone I knew. So I didn't get to investigate that as closely as I wanted to.

Indeed. We need not waste time bickering amongst ourselves if we discuss this beforehand.

Because need I remind you all, you must cast a vote. If you don't, the assumption is that you will die.

If you do not know who to vote for and do so in a blind panic, you will potentially sentence someone to death should they accidentally accumulate enough votes -- and I have heard that ties will punish all of those who are voted for. We could lose two, three, even more of us because of one foolish decision.

We had those willing to volunteer before. Let us hear what they have to say, if they are still willing. And for those who are quick to dissent, I assume you will have alternatives ready for our consideration.

I'd also like to be more thorough with evidence and body inspection - the condition that it's found in, where blood may or may not be, and if there is a room that is very messy, then we can look back immediately. But if there are pieces we are missing, we ought to discover that much earlier than we did.

[instead of yeeting any random weapon at a body within the last five minutes wow that was bad]

In addition, I think that we cannot eliminate all evidence and checks just because one theory gains traction. It might keep us further from the truth if we assume we are correct and proceed forward without regard for anything else.

I'd also like to point out that revealing too many strategies too early will give those who have something to hide advanced notice on how they can try to elude is. So perhaps if you have individual initiatives, you can keep them away from the large group.

i. the howling rose

[ oh, lup is loving this.

here she is, out in the world, with her glasses and her pirate outfit. yes, she's wearing the glasses over the eyepatch. she's especially excited about the howling rose, and she can be found sitting on the railing of upper deck, feet over the edge of the ship just really enjoying herself.

also, she can be found in the crow's nest just belting out stupid sea shanties. she's not in tune but she cares not. ]

if you are not in pirate gear, she will immediately grab you, and then shock herself. ]

[ or! she's eating a truly incredible amount of food in the pub. she's a stick, how does she pack away that much. but hey, at least she nudges the plate in your direction. ]
