WEEK TWO: MINGLE

WEEK TWO: MINGLE
(37 remain)

Rise and shine, gremlins. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and it's the start of a new week. To the participants, yesterday's events may seem distant now—albeit not as distant as their life before this. Whether or not they notice, they will have lost a memory upon waking up.

The barrier to the north is down, and beyond the bridge lies new areas to explore. Strangely, what was there last week seems to have been replaced overnight. That's not the only thing that's different, either. The participants will find that their lodgings have changed, and new buildings within the town have been unlocked. Finally, should anyone check their PHS, Cater, Sharon, and Kano's profiles have been removed.

Three Leaders can be found around the area, open (?) to approach. If participants want to speak to them more privately, or to an absent Leader, it looks like they'll have to go through another channel.

Furthermore, it looks as though the rules have updated. If you break the current ninth rule, participants will get shocked. It will be a mild shock at first, but the longer they touch each other, the stronger it will get. On that note, if your character did not share a memory last week, please make sure to check your notifs!

Participants may also find that their memories of the past few weeks are getting fuzzier... as though they can't recall some of the details without focusing.

Finally, this week, every time a participant gets within one foot of someone, they will experience the emotions the other person is currently feeling and vice-versa. This will last for ten seconds even after they've stepped out of their personal bubble, after which the sharing itself might share, but the knowledge will not. Have fun!

[ new week, new places to explore! homura will do her fair share of being out and about, even if some things might give her a little pause.

What... do you think they would have needed to be so, um, careful with?

[ like damn how many locks do you need. ]

Between last week and now... do you think there'll be at least one place like this every time?

[ she'll just be going through the stock to make sure it doesn't look like it's uh, old timey sort of stock. listen, with the way everything in town looks and the current area across the bridge, you can never be sure if you'll end up finding laudanum instead of more modern stuff somehow.

thankfully it seems like a modern nurse's office, whew. ]

This seems a little delayed, doesn't it...? Oh, but it is good that we can go in here now, I mean.

[ just, you know, where was this last week when people were disappearing off somewhere and reappearing hurt. ]

Maybe, but there's locked chests in the Captain's room too. I'd imagine they'd probably want to try to keep valuables close to them... Or, um, if they were trying to hide treasure in here along with everything else, then...

Covering it in so many locks kind of makes it stand out from the rest?

[ this is the opposite of nondescript and worth passing over. ]

Maybe there's nothing inside.

If these places are made of memories, I wonder if these are just ... the representation of where the bad ones go. Tucked away where you don't have to look at or think of it...

There are creatures where I'm from that warp the world around them, based on the nature and feelings of the curse they hold... Really, the places they affect look much more, um, surreal than all this, but maybe the idea isn't so different?

[ curses and resentful energy, and places where each has left their mark. ]

[personal profile] dianxias 2020-10-13 02:06 am (UTC)(link)
In mine, it can be much of the same. [ nodding!! ]

I do think you're onto something, Miss Homura. Perhaps that is why were are brought to these places each week - even if these bad memories have been forgotten by the original person, the Realm may yet need to hold onto them.

I, um, maybe I'm not the best choice... It isn't like I have any training or anything, I just...

I spent a long time in and out of the hospital when I was younger. And recently, I'd just returned from a long stay there, so I guess... I know a decent amount of this, just by being around it so much for so long...

Some do, though you would have to treat or soak them in specific ointments to get those benefits. Otherwise they will operate as a normal bandage, meant to keep disease and germs out of the wound while it heals.
