WEEK TWO: MINGLE

WEEK TWO: MINGLE (37 remain) Rise and shine, gremlins. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and it's the start of a new week. To the participants, yesterday's events may seem distant now—albeit not as distant as their life before this. Whether or not they notice, they will have lost a memory upon waking up. The barrier to the north is down, and beyond the bridge lies new areas to explore. Strangely, what was there last week seems to have been replaced overnight. That's not the only thing that's different, either. The participants will find that their lodgings have changed, and new buildings within the town have been unlocked. Finally, should anyone check their PHS, Cater, Sharon, and Kano's profiles have been removed. Three Leaders can be found around the area, open (?) to approach. If participants want to speak to them more privately, or to an absent Leader, it looks like they'll have to go through another channel. Furthermore, it looks as though the rules have updated. If you break the current ninth rule, participants will get shocked. It will be a mild shock at first, but the longer they touch each other, the stronger it will get. On that note, if your character did not share a memory last week, please make sure to check your notifs! Participants may also find that their memories of the past few weeks are getting fuzzier... as though they can't recall some of the details without focusing. Finally, this week, every time a participant gets within one foot of someone, they will experience the emotions the other person is currently feeling and vice-versa. This will last for ten seconds even after they've stepped out of their personal bubble, after which the sharing itself might share, but the knowledge will not. Have fun!

[....... Ange just shakes her head a little. They're close enough now that they're sharing emotions, but Ange's is all pretty much muted calm.]

[Yona's, meanwhile, is mostly confusion tinged with annoyance... is this going to happen every time she touches someone?

She's such a touchy-feely person in canon if she can't hold hands she will literally die.]

I'm fine. Just surprised.

[A beat, and she pulls up the rules to stare at them, and sure enough--]

... Now they do not want us to touch each other...? Perhaps this is their way to keep us from, um--

...that might be it! Which I guess isn't a bad idea, but...

[she wants to HOLD HANDS]

It... was rather nice before, holding hands and spending time together like that.

But if it is only for a week... we can make it through.

...right... but if it works, it might not be just for a week.

[lecarre]

[.... Ange just sighs a bit.]

If that is what it takes to keep everyone safe... then I suppose we must cope with it for as long as it takes.

We can handle it, right, Miss Yona?

Right! We definitely can!

[she's going to have handholding withdrawals in 24 hours.]

[she is. Ange is Concerned.]

I wonder if we can come up with workarounds, if need be... It would not be the same as regular contact, but...

We can still spend time together, at least... we'll just have to be careful not to bump into each other by mistake.

[lecarre]

Certainly, we can! and, well... the shock was not so terrible. If we do accidentally touch each other again, we will be all right.

[That's what Ange thinks.]

Yeah, I'm sure it will be fine!

[i hope we get two dead bodies on friday and they're just electrocuted for handholding crimes]

Let's go check out the town! It doesn't seem like there are many people right now, but it looks like it was probably lively before.

[An eager nod at that. She automatically reaches for Yona's hand before she catches herself and pulls back.

That sounds like a lovely plan! I truly love how interesting and colorful this place is... it feels very exciting. It is like something out of a pirate novel.

There are novels about pirates?

[Huh! Yona didn't know that.

Then again, she doesn't have a lot of time for light reading in her canon.]

Very many! To be honest, they are a guilty pleasure of mine... I love reading them.

Though they may not be very academic... they are quite exciting and fun!

...I wonder if we can find any here!

That is not a bad idea...! Perhaps in the fort or the town... someone surely must have been reading fiction of some sort.
