WEEK TWO: MINGLE

WEEK TWO: MINGLE (37 remain) Rise and shine, gremlins. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and it's the start of a new week. To the participants, yesterday's events may seem distant now—albeit not as distant as their life before this. Whether or not they notice, they will have lost a memory upon waking up. The barrier to the north is down, and beyond the bridge lies new areas to explore. Strangely, what was there last week seems to have been replaced overnight. That's not the only thing that's different, either. The participants will find that their lodgings have changed, and new buildings within the town have been unlocked. Finally, should anyone check their PHS, Cater, Sharon, and Kano's profiles have been removed. Three Leaders can be found around the area, open (?) to approach. If participants want to speak to them more privately, or to an absent Leader, it looks like they'll have to go through another channel. Furthermore, it looks as though the rules have updated. If you break the current ninth rule, participants will get shocked. It will be a mild shock at first, but the longer they touch each other, the stronger it will get. On that note, if your character did not share a memory last week, please make sure to check your notifs! Participants may also find that their memories of the past few weeks are getting fuzzier... as though they can't recall some of the details without focusing. Finally, this week, every time a participant gets within one foot of someone, they will experience the emotions the other person is currently feeling and vice-versa. This will last for ten seconds even after they've stepped out of their personal bubble, after which the sharing itself might share, but the knowledge will not. Have fun!

It is, though - amazing, I mean. I love worlds like this. The mostly ocean ones were always my favorite. [ she peers out over the horizon. ]

Mm... obviously I have yet to be to other worlds, but I think I am starting to see why you would think so.

It feels... so free as well. Though I suppose we wouldn't be able to go far in actuality.

[evocationary]

Probably not, but you know? Might not be the worst thing. I wouldn't trust half these suckers to drive a ship without capsizing themselves.

I could take you out on a boat if you wanted, though.

[lecarre]

[She perks up immediately--though her emotions are just as softly muted as ever.]

Oh, truly? I would love to go out on the water, but I certainly could not be trusted with a boat myself.

Of course you are able to handle one, though. I am starting to think there is nothing you cannot do!

[evocationary]

[ she reaches out like she's going to like, tuck ange's hair behind her ear or something, and then stops before she touches! oops. instead, she brings her hand back to her chest and grins. ]

I have an approximate knowledge of many things. [ she says, like a nerd. ] Truly, though. You wanna go right now? Let's do this thing.

[lecarre]

[Probably wise, the zap might send her right over the edge.

But Ange just giggles a bit at that, covering her mouth.]

To me, that sounds like you do in fact know everything.

But if that is all right with you, I would love to! Shall we find a boat to--um, borrow?

[evocationary]

[ stop trying to kill ange i refuse ]

You can say steal. That's what pirates do. [ lup winks at her. ] Come on. Yo ho and a barge of our own.

[ she'll lead her carefully down to the boats! ]

[lecarre]

[... She is a pirate in appearance, but in heart...???

But it's fine, she follows anyway.]

Let me see, what else is it pirates say...?

Ah, yes!

"Hang the treasure! Yo-ho-ho, and a bottle of rum!"

[It's...said too chipper to really work.]

[ lup laughs brightly at that, thoroughly amused. ]

That's the spirit. You're halfway to being a pirate already, look at you. [ her fondness sort of just spills over. ] What do you think about the outfits? Really into them or no?

[lecarre]

[Ange glances down at her outfit for a moment, before she hums contemplatively.]

I like it significantly more than I thought I would. I very rarely wear pants [victorian era england...], but...

It is rather fun, isn't it? The entire outfits feel like we're part of a historical novel.

And one of the fun ones! Not one of the dry ones.

[evocationary]

Makes the week a little more fun, for sure.

[ she agrees. ] You rarely wear pants, what - like you just wear skirts normally? Is that what you mean?

[lecarre]

[She nods.]

It is just what is considered proper back home, I suppose. Ladies are to wear dresses and the like, and men wear pants.

[YE OLDE.]

I have very much enjoyed this, though.

[evocationary]

Ahh, you're an old timey type, got it. Try pants more often! They're great.

[ she's going to lead them to the boats to try and find a good one. ] Fuck proper, honestly. I'll wear a skirt and pants at the same time, the patriarchy ain't got nothing on me.

[lecarre]

[That gets another laugh--it is so improper, but she likes how Lup says it, honestly.]

I am starting to believe that is the case! I do not mind our dresses at school, but I rather like being able to choose just like this. Or even wearing both, as you said!

I wonder what everyone would think back there.

[evocationary]

You think they'd disapprove? [ she sounds curious. ]

[lecarre]

Oh, they most certainly would.

[Her emotions are absolutely "devil may care" about that, though.]

But perhaps they could use a bit of, um... surprise...? In their lives.

[evocationary]

[ she laughs! ]

Atta girl. Hey, if someone ever tries to tell you that you can't wear pants, just flip them off. Like this. [ she flips off the sea. fuck u poseidon ]

[lecarre]

Anyway Ange mimics the gesture, but looks a little puzzled.]

... Does that mean something in particular?

Yeah, it means fuck off and mind your own business. [ sniff. ] Literally.

[lecarre]

[omg.

She blinks.

Looks down at her hands.

Flushes.

Blinks again... and then carefully lifts a hand to flip off the sea again.

FIERCELY!! She is wearing the fiercest expression she has, it's just. Well, you know.]

there is such a burst of amusement and like, some affection? from lup. she cackles like a gremlin. ]

Holy shit, you tell the ocean. Get it!

[lecarre]

[Ange does not deserve this kindness. But she's absolutely going to soak up that amusement anyway.

She looks a bit bashful, dipping her head, quiet amusement in her emotions, and then she nods.]

Now I know for the future. Thank you for teaching me! It is, um, quite eloquent actually!
