WEEK TWO: MINGLE

WEEK TWO: MINGLE
(37 remain)

Rise and shine, gremlins. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and it's the start of a new week. To the participants, yesterday's events may seem distant now—albeit not as distant as their life before this. Whether or not they notice, they will have lost a memory upon waking up.

The barrier to the north is down, and beyond the bridge lies new areas to explore. Strangely, what was there last week seems to have been replaced overnight. That's not the only thing that's different, either. The participants will find that their lodgings have changed, and new buildings within the town have been unlocked. Finally, should anyone check their PHS, Cater, Sharon, and Kano's profiles have been removed.

Three Leaders can be found around the area, open (?) to approach. If participants want to speak to them more privately, or to an absent Leader, it looks like they'll have to go through another channel.

Furthermore, it looks as though the rules have updated. If you break the current ninth rule, participants will get shocked. It will be a mild shock at first, but the longer they touch each other, the stronger it will get. On that note, if your character did not share a memory last week, please make sure to check your notifs!

Participants may also find that their memories of the past few weeks are getting fuzzier... as though they can't recall some of the details without focusing.

Finally, this week, every time a participant gets within one foot of someone, they will experience the emotions the other person is currently feeling and vice-versa. This will last for ten seconds even after they've stepped out of their personal bubble, after which the sharing itself might share, but the knowledge will not. Have fun!

[CASUALLY GLANCES TO SOLVING EVERYTHING WITH SARCASM AND VIOLENCE]

I guess it is...it takes a lot of time, though.

Time spent not fighting is time well spent.

[If Shiro is standing close, he might feel Hansa being just a little dissatisfied by that answer.]

Well, I don't know...

[Hansa gets a wave of amusement in return.]

What's not to know? Fighting takes effort, and you can get hurt. It's better to avoid it.

If you're good at fighting, though, you can solve the problem instantly!

But no matter how good you are at fighting, there's always someone better. And if you try to solve all your problems with fighting, then you'll eventually lose.

Well, I guess there are ways to get under your opponent's skin to catch them off guard...

How would you get under my skin and catch me off-guard?

[personal profile] robopriest 2020-10-14 12:28 am (UTC)(link)
Yours?

[Now he's smirking - a sort of impish feeling sneaking up to the forefront.]

Maybe say something exceedingly blasphemous for a priest like me to say?

You say that like I don't already curse like a sailor. It'd have to be really blasphemous to work.

You curse a lot? Really? Huh. Trying to make up for your old age by acting like the youngsters, old man? Its a wonder any of these young people give you the time of day.

[he's]

[just saying this to say this ATTEMPT AT GETTING UNDER SHIRO'S SKIN HAS ALREADY COMMENCED]

[GOOD TRY but Shiro just laughs it off. He makes fun of his age all the time, old man jokes don't bother him.]

Aaah, you see right through me! I figured if I acted like a hip, cool kid, then maybe they'd listen to me. It's hard to get kids to cooperate, you know?

[Aw, it was worth a try. He's not mad, though, amusement filtering over the connection.]

That's the point. If you try too hard, they see right through you. [A beat.] Ah, guess going after you for your age won't cut it...

Nope~ I won't lie and say I have no buttons to push, but they're more closely guarded than that.

[personal profile] robopriest 2020-10-14 05:21 am (UTC)(link)
Smart man. Of course, its better to have no buttons to push than some, but...we just have to do what we can with what we have.
lionson: (009)

[personal profile] lionson 2020-10-14 05:30 am (UTC)(link)
I'd be wary of someone without buttons to push anyway. The things we're defensive about, that's proof of the lives we've led, yeah?
