WEEK TWO: MINGLE

WEEK TWO: MINGLE (37 remain) Rise and shine, gremlins. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and it's the start of a new week. To the participants, yesterday's events may seem distant now—albeit not as distant as their life before this. Whether or not they notice, they will have lost a memory upon waking up. The barrier to the north is down, and beyond the bridge lies new areas to explore. Strangely, what was there last week seems to have been replaced overnight. That's not the only thing that's different, either. The participants will find that their lodgings have changed, and new buildings within the town have been unlocked. Finally, should anyone check their PHS, Cater, Sharon, and Kano's profiles have been removed. Three Leaders can be found around the area, open (?) to approach. If participants want to speak to them more privately, or to an absent Leader, it looks like they'll have to go through another channel. Furthermore, it looks as though the rules have updated. If you break the current ninth rule, participants will get shocked. It will be a mild shock at first, but the longer they touch each other, the stronger it will get. On that note, if your character did not share a memory last week, please make sure to check your notifs! Participants may also find that their memories of the past few weeks are getting fuzzier... as though they can't recall some of the details without focusing. Finally, this week, every time a participant gets within one foot of someone, they will experience the emotions the other person is currently feeling and vice-versa. This will last for ten seconds even after they've stepped out of their personal bubble, after which the sharing itself might share, but the knowledge will not. Have fun!

[He pauses, glancing around, before turning his attention back to Schwann.]

...Want to take a walk? I can answer some questions for you, if you'd like.

... It's not as if I have any pressing questions. But if you'd like me to walk with you, I can.

[He gestures! Come with!]

I'm eager to get to know such a prestigious man. You said you were Captain of some Imperial Knights, huh?

One of them. [The "first" one.]

The Imperial Knights are the force that protects the people of the Empire, led by Commandant Alexei. I report directly to him.

[robopriest]

How noble. Protecting the people of an empire? Must be a tough job.

[laid]

[The look he gets on his face is probably closed to "pained," with the emotion to match if Hansa is close enough. Or maybe disgust? Resentment?]

There's nothing noble about me.

[A questioning noise from Hansa, now genuinely curious.]

What do you mean by that?

[laid]

I'm just saying you shouldn't make assumptions.

[He's refusing to elaborate, is what he really means.]

[robopriest]

I guess I won't. I'll take that to mean that your knights aren't as spick and span as they sound.

[laid]

Infer from it whatever you want, unless you're planning on telling me what it means to be a priest in your religion.

[He's not giving deets unless he gets some in return.]

What? That's it? [HE'LL JUST GO FOR IT] A priest is a person who acts as a representative of the Lord, and works for their congregation of people who want to get in touch with their faith and belief. We do things like communion, confession, baptism, and we interpret the Word of the Lord and use it to direct people to live fulfilling lives.

[Sure sounds nice, huh.]

[He grins.]

[Why are you like this.]

So then what does it mean for you to serve your god?

[robopriest]

[Tapping at his chin.]

Hm, that's a complicated question. But I guess it boils down to "being able to do something in the name of the Lord regarding those that threaten humanity".

[laid]

You make it sound like you fight monsters in the name of your god.

[That's because he does.]

[robopriest]

[He just smiles.]

[A long, tired stare.]

No, you've disproved that time and again.
[Still, this was predicated on some sort of give and take;]

The system that the knights operate under is broken. Often the people who need help the most are the most ignored. the Commandant brought me back to help his efforts to reform the knights, but as things didn't go his way, his methods became more extreme. I'm less a knight to admire and more a sword to be swung at this point.
[He's just a blade flashing in the darkness.]
