WEEK TWO: MINGLE

WEEK TWO: MINGLE (37 remain) Rise and shine, gremlins. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and it's the start of a new week. To the participants, yesterday's events may seem distant now—albeit not as distant as their life before this. Whether or not they notice, they will have lost a memory upon waking up. The barrier to the north is down, and beyond the bridge lies new areas to explore. Strangely, what was there last week seems to have been replaced overnight. That's not the only thing that's different, either. The participants will find that their lodgings have changed, and new buildings within the town have been unlocked. Finally, should anyone check their PHS, Cater, Sharon, and Kano's profiles have been removed. Three Leaders can be found around the area, open (?) to approach. If participants want to speak to them more privately, or to an absent Leader, it looks like they'll have to go through another channel. Furthermore, it looks as though the rules have updated. If you break the current ninth rule, participants will get shocked. It will be a mild shock at first, but the longer they touch each other, the stronger it will get. On that note, if your character did not share a memory last week, please make sure to check your notifs! Participants may also find that their memories of the past few weeks are getting fuzzier... as though they can't recall some of the details without focusing. Finally, this week, every time a participant gets within one foot of someone, they will experience the emotions the other person is currently feeling and vice-versa. This will last for ten seconds even after they've stepped out of their personal bubble, after which the sharing itself might share, but the knowledge will not. Have fun!

I could say the same. Where I had been last, there was little reason to travel along the sea. [ uhh until they had to literally delve to the bottom of the seafloor, but that doesn't count. ] Not that there had been a lot of it left.

The land I speak of is not my true home. For the past year, you could say I have been pulled away to it to conduct certain business. There is some, but beyond that, the star is largely uninhabitable.

[huh. Chiron does not bother to hide his curiosity at the mention of a star]

So you are a traveler of stars, then.

Not typically. To put it simply, it was more involuntary than anything else, but I do not regret it now. Journeying 'twixt worlds is no task that can be done so easily.

Still, that it happens at all is impressive. That is not a task accomplished on my world at all, not without the use of Magic or technology beyond my understanding.

Is there a reason you must travel?

[arcsplainist]

Indeed. I am one of the Scions of the Seventh Dawn; together with my comrades, we work to protect our home from any and all who dare threaten it and its people. Oft we are called upon, and so we are never in one place for long.

[antaressnipe]

... I see.

[Very interesting, his tone seems to imply]

What a heavy burden falls upon your shoulders, then. How many worlds are you in charge of?

[arcsplainist]

Only one, thankfully! My current circumstances are rather anomalous and—with any hope—only temporary. Nevertheless, I see it not as a burden, for there is naught I would trade it for.

[antaressnipe]

That is an optimistic view to have, in that respect. Some would hail you as a hero for your selfless deeds.

[arcsplainist]

[ With a modest chuckle, Alphinaud waves dismissively. ]

I hesitate to call myself a hero, when I have witnessed what a hero can truly be.

[antaressnipe]

Ah, are you speaking of a companion of yours?

[arcsplainist]

That obvious, am I? Aye, you would have the right of it. 'Tis extraordinary what they have accomplished.

[antaressnipe]

It is only that you seem to speak very fondly of them, in a way that comes from familiarity of someone else's deeds.

[with a hint of a smile]

Though I hope you do not discount your own victories; it's possible your friend would not be pleased to hear it.
