WEEK TWO: MINGLE

WEEK TWO: MINGLE (37 remain) Rise and shine, gremlins. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and it's the start of a new week. To the participants, yesterday's events may seem distant now—albeit not as distant as their life before this. Whether or not they notice, they will have lost a memory upon waking up. The barrier to the north is down, and beyond the bridge lies new areas to explore. Strangely, what was there last week seems to have been replaced overnight. That's not the only thing that's different, either. The participants will find that their lodgings have changed, and new buildings within the town have been unlocked. Finally, should anyone check their PHS, Cater, Sharon, and Kano's profiles have been removed. Three Leaders can be found around the area, open (?) to approach. If participants want to speak to them more privately, or to an absent Leader, it looks like they'll have to go through another channel. Furthermore, it looks as though the rules have updated. If you break the current ninth rule, participants will get shocked. It will be a mild shock at first, but the longer they touch each other, the stronger it will get. On that note, if your character did not share a memory last week, please make sure to check your notifs! Participants may also find that their memories of the past few weeks are getting fuzzier... as though they can't recall some of the details without focusing. Finally, this week, every time a participant gets within one foot of someone, they will experience the emotions the other person is currently feeling and vice-versa. This will last for ten seconds even after they've stepped out of their personal bubble, after which the sharing itself might share, but the knowledge will not. Have fun!

[ what hero comes now to the rescue of these poor bartending maidens? It's the dashing miss Fiora!! She's only got one dagger, which is really throwing her off, to be honest, but she's still fast and tough. Her shout is the only warning the skeletons get before she jumps right into the fray, rushing up and throwing the best metal-fisted uppercut she can manage onto one of their skulls. ]

well unless someone disarms a zombie for her her only superpower is going to be extreme wallflowerism. can she use that quality of being horribly, terribly forgettable to walk right through the crowd and get to the barmaids,

I mean presumably by this point fiora is a decent distraction. is this stealth? does this even count as that. ]

So please get dressed quickly so that we can determine our next course of action. Staying here might put our comrades in a difficult situation.

[he's glancing around? how many skeletons are around and also how easily can he steal a canon to create a hole in the pirate ship that they're currently standing on]

[Nod. Nod. Nod. He understands Soo-won's point, but he also has a feeling that he can do something here, something that is in his skill set.]

I understand. [He says, as he's being put in a lil pirate outfit.] But I would like to talk to the Captain. Is that someplace we can go without endangering others?

[ On the barmaid side, which is not the pub, Fiona rushes in with the skeletons who have been patiently waiting for a horse this whole time, and so are a little put off when this metal woman comes in to save the day. That's just rude. The horse promised he'd be back?

She manages to catch one skeleton off guard but the other four rally around her, ready to fight with fists, swords, and also pistols, I don't know why they're even pretending to use fists, they have weapons. Because of this, they completely miss Homura sneaking back and getting to the barmaids. They sniffle but follow along with her instructions, sneaking behind the skeletons to try and find a safe place in this battlefield while profusely thanking Homura for saving them from the skeletons, the horse monster, and now this horrifying machine.

Why are we saving these barmaids again.

MEANWHILE, ON THE SHIP, WHICH IS STILL NOT THE PUB

The skeleton man is ignoring the discussion to put Mob in the cutest pirate outfit. There does seem to be a working cannon on this ship, though probably not in the Captain's quarters. There's a lot of skeleton pirates running around but they're very distracted by the battle with some other people in a different thread, so Soo-Won could actually sneak and attempt to steal a cannon. Those are super heavy so it's going to be hilarious to watch.

The pub belatedly explodes because of the alcohol and the fire, and it looks like fireworks, and it's very cool. ]

[ as it turns out, rushing straight into a bunch of enemies isn't the most strategically-sound maneuver, but Fiora isn't exactly known for that. She's quick to draw her dagger, which is so big it's basically a sword but the game calls them daggers for some reason, and gets ready for Mortal Kombat.

It's kind of exciting, actually?! She hasn't gotten to let loose in weeks, and she's even smiling. ]

All right, bring it on!

[ nobody in Xenoblade can shut up while they fight. In any case, she takes her blade and aims a swift blow at the nearest armed skeleton, hoping to hit it in the weapon arm. She's not so worried about getting punched, since she's mostly metal, but guns and swords are another matter... ]

[ you do you, fiora, as homura seems a bit overwhelmed by all the thanks she's getting? but it's more sheepish than anything as she tries to wave them off, ]

Please, it isn't necessary to thank me, I'm just doing what I'm supposed to. It would be repayment enough for us all if you simply took care of yourself from here on.

anyway homura is, as always, relegated to support duty even if she glances a little nervously away from fiora because hm, that's a crowd, and she's good at crowd control, but not... like this. no fair, why do other people get weapons. have any of the beaten up zombies conveniently dropped anything for her to grab. maybe something that looks suspiciously like a golf club or gun, ]

soo-won listens to the request to talk to the captain who is on the fort and not yet yeeted onto the ship, and he doesn't know this, but for the sake of not waiting until he shows up - ]

Well, let's go check out the situation outside. Maybe we can go find out what a kraken is until then. That's where I intend to go for now.

[He does look very cute. He'll follow Soo-won, but not just yet. First, he has to turn to skeleton friend.

To give him a little friendship speech while dressed as a pirate, because he is the captain now.]

I know you care about the Captain. And that must mean you know that what you're doing isn't the right way. When someone is making a decision that you know will only hurt them, you should speak your mind instead of just following them.

If the Captain is really someone important to you. . . then help us stop him from hurting himself like this!

Aw, jeez... For some reason, when you're dressed like that, I just can't help but want to listen to you. Don't know why that is. [ it's because mob is the captain now. The skeleton looks around and nods ] Alright. You go save your little friends, and I'll start a mutiny... For the captain's sake. [ a beat ] Also, because I really want to go see a different town. This one is horrible. I can't stand eating crabs anymore. Get a new export!

[ the skeleton goes off, leaving them behind as it starts to rally its friend to stop the fighting because they're all being murdered anyway and jimmy is a douchebag (rip jimmy). Mob and Soo-Won are now free to commandeer whatever they want in Mob's very convincing captain cosplay.

MEANWHILE, WITH THE GIRLS.

Fiora is valiantly trying to fight off a crowd of skeletons all by herself, and she is mostly succeeding, except! More skeletons join the fight! Because they had nothing better to do now that all the booze is gone. RIP pub, this thread will never be the same. Luckily for Fiora, there is a convenient sword attached to a skeleton arm on the ground if Homura wants to help join the fray.

If she does, all the barmaids will suddenly oo and aaa and cheer for her as their new hero of all things horrible, like robot girls and evil horses and also skeletons.

there are more and more skeletons showing up, and while Fiora is confident in her fighting skills, she's not "fighting off an army of skeletons by herself" confident. The fighting is going well enough, but she's already tiring out. ]

[ meanwhile, in the plaza near the ruins of what was once the pub, homura finds a sword on an arm, because we would just breath of the wild this. well! time to make herself useful! ]

[ and she is surprisingly okay at swinging around a weapon! except she is not the swordswoman of her group, so while she does have a decent two handed form she is also still recovering from a relatively recent extended hospitalization and all? which is to say she helps! ooh, aah,

Fiora-san, um, how resilient are you, to damage from... heat, blast pressure and wind?

and now that the skeleton that mob was playing nice with is gone, soo-won is going to draw his sword again just in case they actually have to fight anything. he's just here as mob's security detail apparently. playing bodyguard to straightforward and well-meaning black-haired children is his hobby now]

[They're just going to wander off to the rest of the ship, is what they're doing now.]

Everyone! No more fighting! It's time to cut it out.

[ For some reason, because of his cute little outfit, every single skeleton seems to listen to Mob when he talks. They go "aye aye, mini captain" and accept this, and so no one is fighting.

Soo-Won really did just enjoy this ride. There he is. Enjoying it. They can even go up on the deck and notice the Kraken attacking Sora and co. Maybe he wants to do something about that, idk, I am trying to give Dana something to do that isn't Soo-Won opening up his wounds for ultimately no reason. Even though that's funny.

MEANWHILE, the skeletons in town have not heard word of Mob the savior, and so they continue to fight Fiora and Homura!! The girls are of course holding them back, but they keep coming!!! Perhaps the answer is an explosive because I really want someone to set us up the bomb!!!!! ]

[ this question makes her feel nervous, but the situation is fairly dire, so... here goes nothing. She shouts out a response as she pushes back an encroaching skeleton with the flat of her blade. ]

I'll be fine, just do whatever!

[ famous last words. ]

Th-then, please... move out of the way, and, um- try to take cover!

[ what is she, well no zia ruined the surprise already but yeah, where the hell did she get a pipe bomb from?

anyway she's going to arm it, then use the flat of the sword to more or less bat it as far away from them as possible and into the crowd of skellies. it's fine i'm making a grief syndrome joke. no one will understand it but i'm making it anyway.

[no it's funnier this way. soo-won is happy to ignore his slowly bleeding injury to follow mob around and be happy for his great day




okay no if the kraken actually seems like it's going to get hostile with lup, he's going to fire a cannonball at it immediately!

[ I have no idea what's going on with Lup anymore so let's say Soo-Won helps while Mob manages to get the entire pirate crew to stop fighting through the power of Mob. They are both having a great time on this adventure.

MEANWHILE, what's the source of the ticking? It's a pipe bomb!

I mean, it blows up and destroys all the skeletons? Mission success! The barmaids are oohing and aahing despite an explosion being nearby, again. But like, Fiora is also in the crowd? So. I guess Fiora also gets hit with a pipe bomb explosion while Homura ducks out.

sib I have no idea how she'd deal with that i am in tears go wild if you need a save i have one ]

it also means Fiora is getting blown back and blown up?!? Which isn't the greatest thing. She at least had a clue of what Homura was about to do, and put up her arms (and sword) to shield her face accordingly, but the rest of her was pretty much caught in the blast. The good news is that she's still in one piece! Thanks, nearly-invincible Mechon plating! The bad news is that her armor is blackened and chipped in spots - and, more pressingly, she lands very hard and doesn't get back up. ]

listen. she is a tiny teenage wisp of a girl. even if she may or may not have had super strength before they all ended up here she sure as hell does not now.

she'll just kneel by fiora's side and attempt to clean her up a bit? if any stray debris ended up on her, or something. how do you help attend to a robot. :( ]
