WEEK TWO: MINGLE

WEEK TWO: MINGLE (37 remain) Rise and shine, gremlins. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and it's the start of a new week. To the participants, yesterday's events may seem distant now—albeit not as distant as their life before this. Whether or not they notice, they will have lost a memory upon waking up. The barrier to the north is down, and beyond the bridge lies new areas to explore. Strangely, what was there last week seems to have been replaced overnight. That's not the only thing that's different, either. The participants will find that their lodgings have changed, and new buildings within the town have been unlocked. Finally, should anyone check their PHS, Cater, Sharon, and Kano's profiles have been removed. Three Leaders can be found around the area, open (?) to approach. If participants want to speak to them more privately, or to an absent Leader, it looks like they'll have to go through another channel. Furthermore, it looks as though the rules have updated. If you break the current ninth rule, participants will get shocked. It will be a mild shock at first, but the longer they touch each other, the stronger it will get. On that note, if your character did not share a memory last week, please make sure to check your notifs! Participants may also find that their memories of the past few weeks are getting fuzzier... as though they can't recall some of the details without focusing. Finally, this week, every time a participant gets within one foot of someone, they will experience the emotions the other person is currently feeling and vice-versa. This will last for ten seconds even after they've stepped out of their personal bubble, after which the sharing itself might share, but the knowledge will not. Have fun!

[ no like, it really does own. and lup is really enjoying herself too, it's feedback going apeshit energy. the whole zap thing sucks, though. ow. she's shaking her hand out as she prepares to follow elsa over to the other ship. she stops right before she swings over, one foot on the railing of the ship, dramatically looking out at the town that is definitely really on fire. ]

Yeah, yeah, no, you're right, I just - it just occurred to me that I'm in the one place without fire right now, and I'm - super bummed about that? I --

[ and then the kraken shows up. ]

NEVER MIND THIS WAS THE RADDEST CHOICE, FUCK HIM UP, TAAKO!

WHAT ABOUT THE ROSE?!

[GUYS, THE SHIP????? but he pays no attention to it because he's busy with the appearance of the kraken and there's just a startled yell.]

This again? [you know what. no. he will use his sword to throw off a couple of skeletons to leave to the hot ladies before he decides the smartest thing he can do is go to the steering wheel of the ship to start turning toward the kraken so taako can, as the kids say, fuck him up.

the wheel gets a nice spin to get them aligned properly before he's ready to fight again. is there any saving the howling rose at this point, i'm crying]

It's going to sink faster if we don't stop this one from firing on it--oh!

[KRAKEN???

for a moment, elsa just stares at it, open-mouthed, before going back to angrily fighting skellies. fuck it. fuck this. she'll watch sora and taako's backs while they fuck up the kraken.]

...Why is it that when I want my magic the most, I don't have it?!

And who is Captain Bofa?!

[ The skeleton that Taako was speaking to looks down sadly. It wanted to be part of the joke...

Meanwhile, the ship that Lup is on is still sinking. It's about to sink even more, because the Kraken reaches a long tentacle to grab onto the ship and start dragging it to it. Oh. Oh goddammit why did tentacles have to get involved I swear this wasn't on purpose.

Anyway, the skeletons don't really react to the Kraken, as they are all used to this, so they just immediately return to attacking Sora. Soo-won is watching in the background. ]

[tentacles getting involved always make things more fun

Anyway, Taako blinks for a second, because he thought he heard someone yell about Captain Bofa, but it's kinda loud and there's a lot of shouting, so he's just trying to find something to light this cannon with for a second before grabbing, I don't know, a torch and making sure the cannon is aimed actually at the kraken wherever it might be. Aiming too precisely is heteronomative though so I am not going to bother. I'm powergaming at this point, but, it's midnight and i am tired.]

Did someone sa-- Did someone say it? They definitely did, right? Uh-- Whatever!

DEEZ NUTS

[then he fires the cannon. sure hope rup doesn't care too much about this.]

[ oh the kraken is out here just destroying the ship huh. rip paako and rup.

she whoops at top volume at taako's joke, clapping, and then there's an alarming cracking sound as the ship starts to actually go down.

so! lup is... going to jump from the ship onto the kraken's tentacle, and then the kraken itself, and try to run across it to the other not sinking ship. she is still humming the potc theme under her breath as she does this. ]

[WHAT. THE. FUCK!!!! except sora still isn't allowed to even think the word fuck, so it's just a lot of muffled internal screaming. that's fine though. he steered the boat, he got them pointed in the right direction, and now there's lup on a kraken, taako screaming about nuts, the queen of arendelle fighting skeletons on another part of the ship, and mob in a captain cosplay accompanied by soo-won.

typical day.

well. time to go! he's just going back to fighting off a swarm of skeletons, don't mind him. he's using parts of the ship to dodge and parry and also just try to get the skeletons to back off? it's fine.]

fighting her way over to sora, elsa knocks a few skeleheads rolling—and notices the two who've just recently emerged on to the deck. she waves cheerfully, her face blooming into a smile.]

Shigeo! Won! You both look very cute! Look out for the kraken, please!

[and, as she re-joins sora:] Are you going to attack that? We could probably take it. [ELSA??????]

[ Everyone claps at Taako's line. Amazing. Meanwhile, Lup is running on the Kraken, which is neat, but it's going to try to toss her off before she can reach the other boat.

Meanwhile, the skeletons keep throwing themselves at Sora, while a few look over at the Kraken. One mutters to the other, ]

Do you remember where we buried the treasure? We're going to have to pay the Kraken for showing up to get it to leave.

[ Hm. Anyway. The skeletons continue to attack Elsa and Sora. ]

[ alli died so i'm commandeering taako which means he's going to shoot cannonballs at the kraken until he is delivered his pirate husband

the kraken on the other hand tosses lup into the ocean and she dies.

or rather she just hits the water with a splash and a half-shriek that is more exhilarated than terrified. ]

[and he's going to yell at lup as she goes overboard:]

WHY ARE YOU LIKE THIS?

[in less shouty news, sora is still focusing on steering their ship to keep it out of harm's way of kraken tentacles but close enough taako can keep shooting cannons at it while also kicking pirates in the chest if they get too close.

also. hm.]

Help me with the skeletons and go get Lup to make sure she doesn't drown! Or, like, that Taako doesn't hit her with a cannonball. [NONE TRUST! but to the skeletons:]

If we help you find your treasure, will you stop? [he says, as he swings at another skeleton that's attacking him.]

[elsa, who is way too hyped on adrenaline right now, immediately drops into the role of bad cop to sora's good cop, swings on the skeleton he's questioning, and brandishes her sword at him.]

Stop fighting, tell the kraken to back off, or you'll be lucky if you get to leave! Now, where's the treasure, you... scurvy piles of... sea... bones?!

[retellers]

[ GOODBYE LUP... she's in the water. The Kraken will try to grab her? Also, there are skeletons down there still.

The skeletons stare at Elsa and Sora though. ]

Ha! As if we'd tell you the treasure is in the swamp.

My god, you are so bloody stupid.

[evocationary]

[ ........ lup allows herself to get grabbed? like, it's better than drowning. she pets the kraken's tentacle. she's probably about to be eaten, but she'll try this: ]

Aww, good boy! Put me on the ship! I'll feed you all the crabs you want if you be a nice kraken and do what I say!

[reconnective]

[...well lup i guess is fine, so the skeletons seem to have stopped fighting for a second and sora just. stares at them. for being so bloody stupid.]

O...kay? Tell you what. We'll steer the boat back to the port, we'll get the treasure from the swamp, the kraken'll leave and you guys can also leave. Fair?

[he will throw skeletons overboard if he has to, but he's also guarding the wheel of the ship.]

[elsa, meanwhile, is intimidating a bunch of skeletons in front of her towards the kraken, waving her sword around.]

Tell him to stop! Tell him not to eat Lup!

HEY! KRAKEN! IF YOU EAT LUP, YOU DON'T GET PAID!

[retellers]

[ ... The Kraken pauses. Whether or not it was about to eat Lup remains unknown, but apparently this monster truly does kin Rufus. What does it even do with the money. Where does it shop.

The skeletons talk amongst each other. ]

If you somehow manage to bring us our treasure within the next five minutes, we'll leave.

[ well, here we are, francy, yet again with you tentacling my character

lup just waits to eventually be put down. she spits out salt water and pats the kraken. ]

[reconnective]

[...well.]

Deal. [he turns to face the kraken.]

Hey! Kraken! You want your money? Come get it! [since the skeletons have put a pause on things, sora is going to adjust the wheel of the ship and turn to immediately speed back toward the port. hold on everybody.]

[showyourself]

[WOOOOO THE SHIP IS MOVING, THE SKELETONS AREN'T ATTACKING, AND THE KRAKEN ISN'T EATING LUP! this is a serious success.

elsa points her sword over the bow, putting one foot up on the side, and yells to the kraken:]

Carve us a path to the swamp for fair compensation!

[ The Kraken is pat. It's also not like, letting her go. It is fine with just holding her. Taako probably has some reaction here. It is a very beautiful monologue, filled with sentences and poetry that would make Shakespeare duck his head in shame as he realizes his own failures in comparison. Wow, Taako. Wow. So enthralling, so moving.

The Kraken looks at Elsa though. There is land in the way? What path is it going to cut?? Hello???

None of the skeletons help Sora steer this ship, which now that I think about it, I have no idea how he managed to do this solo. These are large ships and absolutely no one helped him whatsoever. ]

[ taako just out here letting his sister be grabbed smh ]

Are we just - uh, are we just gonna be here, with you holding me? I know I'm pretty but I'm not actually a Fantasy Barbie doll, my dude.

Put me down. Not in the water. Do you want me to say please?

[sora is just good at steering boats and being a pirate i guess. we'll go with that. the skeletons have all proven to be utterly worthless and this is his boat now. mob and soo-won are somewhere vibin' and elsa's...sure trying!

and so he steers the ship closer to the port as he yells over to the kraken.]

Heeeeyyyy! Are you coming or not? We'll make a trade! Money for Lup!

[showyourself]

[the kraken looks at elsa. elsa looks at the kraken, and gives him a very frustrated shrug? she is TRYING to get in the SPIRIT of things, and DOES NOT HAVE ANY TREASURE?]

Just follow us!

[anyway. as soon as the ship gets near enough (or at least, noisily crashes into the port), elsa will launch herself off of it, and make her way immediately to the nearest group hauling a treasure chest—jeanne and izumo—to alert them tO PAY THE KRAKEN]

[ The Kraken... will drop Lup. Into the water. Shiro and Hua Cheng are probably in there somewhere as well? Did they ever get out of there. Ochako is bleeding in a boat. Please, someone tend to her gunshot wound.

Anyway. It wants to be paid. The swamp group has been informed. ]
