WEEK TWO: MINGLE

WEEK TWO: MINGLE
(37 remain)

Rise and shine, gremlins. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and it's the start of a new week. To the participants, yesterday's events may seem distant now—albeit not as distant as their life before this. Whether or not they notice, they will have lost a memory upon waking up.

The barrier to the north is down, and beyond the bridge lies new areas to explore. Strangely, what was there last week seems to have been replaced overnight. That's not the only thing that's different, either. The participants will find that their lodgings have changed, and new buildings within the town have been unlocked. Finally, should anyone check their PHS, Cater, Sharon, and Kano's profiles have been removed.

Three Leaders can be found around the area, open (?) to approach. If participants want to speak to them more privately, or to an absent Leader, it looks like they'll have to go through another channel.

Furthermore, it looks as though the rules have updated. If you break the current ninth rule, participants will get shocked. It will be a mild shock at first, but the longer they touch each other, the stronger it will get. On that note, if your character did not share a memory last week, please make sure to check your notifs!

Participants may also find that their memories of the past few weeks are getting fuzzier... as though they can't recall some of the details without focusing.

Finally, this week, every time a participant gets within one foot of someone, they will experience the emotions the other person is currently feeling and vice-versa. This will last for ten seconds even after they've stepped out of their personal bubble, after which the sharing itself might share, but the knowledge will not. Have fun!

[Ooh, sounds like storytime.]

What made Ishgard so majestic?

'Tis an old kingdom built into a mountainside, its architecture unlike any you could find elsewhere, towering high and tall. Or—hm, no, that isn't quite right; an ancient land called the Churning Mists by the dragons who reside there impressed upon me for the same reasons.

It is... truly hard to determine a best, as you can see.

...wait, wait! You got to go to a place that had dragons? Did you get to meet the dragons? Is that how you know what they called it?

—Hm?

[ He grows surprised by her awe. ]

Of course; I have met a number of dragons. Are they not something you have encountered before?

Where I come from, dragons are considered gods! They're very, very rare.

[ ... Huh! ]

Interesting! Are they truly divine beings, then?
dawnblushed: (017)

[personal profile] dawnblushed 2020-10-19 12:15 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, they are!

[She smiles.]

Are they divine in your world?

[ He shakes his head. ]

Not divine, no; there are numerous of their kind within Dravania. Yet all the eldest of the great dreadwryms have lived for centuries upon centuries and do indeed hold great power.

I see... how interesting. I knew that worlds could be very different from each other, but I didn't realize they would be that different.

[ He slips out a short, light chuckle. ]

Meanwhile, it feels as if most around here come from a vastly different one from mine. I wager you would be one of the very few who could tell me there are dragons about, however rare they may be.

[personal profile] dawnblushed 2020-10-19 03:09 am (UTC)(link)
Mm... I think you're probably right about that. But it's interesting, don't you think? That we both have dragons in our world, but when we say "dragon," we mean different things.

I wonder how many other similarities there are that are just a little different from each other.

No two are the same, in my experience; every one has taken its own direction in where life leads it. Still, I do find it fascinating to find out about others.

Mayhap you could tell me of a place you like most?
dawnblushed: (043)

[personal profile] dawnblushed 2020-10-19 03:37 am (UTC)(link)
Hmm... I've traveled around a lot, so it's hard to pick just one...

[personal profile] arcsplainist 2020-10-19 03:43 am (UTC)(link)
Hah, as you have seen, I do understand. Shall we narrow it down to—let's see... the latest region you have visited?

1/2

[Yona thinks back and immediately makes a face.]

2/2

[personal profile] dawnblushed 2020-10-19 03:53 am (UTC)(link)
[But the moment passes.]

Hmm, well... there are some parts of the last place I visited that it's hard to grow crops in. But... there are people there who have been working very, very hard! They've recently started planting a crop that's doing well, and it's amazing to see how their efforts have improved the land they're living in.

[personal profile] arcsplainist 2020-10-19 04:00 am (UTC)(link)
[ That face... ]

A land of farmers, I take it? 'Tis not unusual to hear of such difficulties 'twixt the earth wearing away to an unfortunately poor season. A recovery is wonderful news to hear, however!
dawnblushed: (018)

[personal profile] dawnblushed 2020-10-19 04:02 am (UTC)(link)
Well, not exactly... but they're learning to be, and I think that's a good thing. It will certainly make things easier for them, now that they've found a crop that will grow in their lands.
arcsplainist: (pic#14275493)

[personal profile] arcsplainist 2020-10-20 10:43 am (UTC)(link)
Certainly. Though we are worlds apart, I do wish them well.
dawnblushed: (007)

[personal profile] dawnblushed 2020-10-20 11:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you! I'm sure they'd appreciate the well-wishes.
