WEEK TWO: INVESTIGATION (?? remain) On Friday morning at 7am, all the doors will unlock and the participants may traverse between areas again. Participants will find that, as they leave wherever they slept, everything feels... unclear? Did they see whoever they were with? They can no longer remember. Even for those who spent the night alone, they can feel that something is off. It doesn't seem as though the Leaders are around, but at this point, everyone should realize what has happened. Time to investigate. ༶•┈┈⛧┈｡o°✥✣ 　　 ✣✥°o｡┈⛧┈┈•༶ Welcome to your third investigation! We will be posting top-levels for searchable locations—one set at 6pm EST and another set at 7pm EST. Each location will contain evidence to find, though it's up to your efforts as to whether you find all of it. Please coordinate investigation groups on Discord, as we ask that group threads consist of no more than 2-3 characters. We will stop tagging each top-level two hours after it went up, i.e. at 8pm and 9pm EST, respectively. Don't worry if you don't find everything! Characters will get the chance to revisit locations tomorrow at trial. At 9pm EST, an announcement will go up, confirming the victim(s). [let's go find out if anyone was `yote` into the swamp. he is not taking the lead, though, checking the ground-- it's swampy, so do we have anything here?]

[ This is Vezda's first time at the swamp, so he's looking at everything with fresh eyes.

He hums and nods in agreement because, yeah, fuck skeletons and also fuck finding corpses in the swamp muck.

Speaking of which, he immediately does a quick glance around the pathways leading up to/into the swamp for anything noteworthy. ]

[ Unfortunately, the first thing they see as they head into the swamp is... footprints. ]

[ i thought footprints were banned... either way, how big are they compared to izumo's foot because she's totally measuring her foot against it. ]

It'd seem a bit on the nose to dispose a body in a swamp but it looks like someone was here.

Do watch your step, in that case.

[please nobody ruin the footprints. he's just tapping at his phs in the background to note whatever the results are-- he's not going to bother comparing his own unless they're like. pretty big compared to izumo. as one of the resident very tall people, it is a little pointless otherwise.]

Vezda tiptoes carefully along the path and compares his foot to the same footprint as Izumo, on the other side. Just to give us two benchmarks to compare against. ]

[ The footprints are closer in size to Vezda's feet than Izumo's. ]

now let's not ruin the footprint so we can have it for trial, and what else is there to look at? izumo will careful not to be too hasty about the exploring too fast. are there any other signs of someone being here? broken branches and that? ]

Well, so far so good on the lack of skeletons.

[for the sake of speed we're gonna say that as long as they're still smaller than vezda he's not gonna bother, but he records that result also! if they're bigger then he will help compare.

but with that taken care of, he'll nod toward the prints. are they like, a trail.]

So far, yes. Let us see where they lead us, shall we?

[while izumo checks their surroundings, he's still helping out with the ground to see if there are marks besides the feet-- just one size, nothing like drag marks etc. with them?]

[ Well. It looks like these two have the ground covered. Vezda instead looks upwards--any trees with broken branches, or anything from them? I don't know if there are vines but if there are: are they arranged or draped unnaturally anywhere? ]

[ No broken branches or wildlife! If there are any vines, nothing unnatural about them. There is just the one set of footprints, no drag marks.

But as the group walks along, they'll find a single pair of gloves. ]

well obviously she's going to go pick it up, but also how big it compared to izumo's hand? bigger? smaller? ]

Get a brief comparison, but we may take a closer look at those later. Best not to spend too much time on details now.

[they've barely gotten into the swamp, let's nyoom. he's still taking notes as they go along and find things though, meandering along this footprint trail.]

[ Gloves mean they're dealing with someone who's got half a brain. ...Probably.

He has Questions about the glove, but Emet is right, he refuses to let them miss something here because they got distracted by the first thing they saw.

As he continues walking down the path, he keeps an eye out for anything nearby off the path that might be off. Scratch marks or other damage to tree bark? Discolored swamp muck? Empty logs that could hide a body? ]

[ They look like they would fit Izumo pretty well? Also, they're bloody. Oops.

Anyway.

None of the above to Vezda's checks, but the end of the footprint trail takes them to... huh. Looks like there's stuff in the swamp water! ]

I'm not sure if I want to feel comfortable knowing that it could fit my hand or not.

[ but regarding the blood, how is it on the glove? is it just staining the fingers or is it inside?? please??

either way, these are her's until she can free herself of them and sweats nervously at time so TO THE SWAMP WATER and maybe body??? ]

[like, if they end up not thinking the gloves matter she's fine? she's probably close in size to people.

anyway, that swamp water! is it apparent at all what's in it because he is sure looking at it dubiously.]

With a loud groan and an exaggerated eyeroll, he toes into the swamp water carefully to grab at the stuff. If you want something done, you gotta do it yourself. ]

[ As Izumo and Emet-Selch chill on dryer land:

In return for getting dirty, Vezda retrieves... what looks like an improvised spear. Yay! Oh, but it looks like there are more things further out that drifted away. "isn't the water still" maybe a crocodile moved it and then left. Who knows! Work for your evidence, Vezda.

Oh, and re: the gloves: it looks like blood splattered on them. ]

closes eyes and izumo is going to hand over the gloves to emet as she is going to go for the stuff floating further out. she's going to regret isn't she? oh well, MAYBE VEZDA WILL LOOK MORE APPETIZING THAN A SCRAWNY TEEN GIRL. so. yeah. she's going to be interested in that "more things further out", thanks.

[he'll take the gloves very carefully, by one of the non-bloody spots. he's also wearing gloves, he just doesn't want to get this blood on them, thank you.]

There's hardly any need for all of us to be there-- do let me know what you find.

[anyway, he will check around the edges of the water to see if like, anything remained closer to other edges of it, or if there are other marks around other sides of the water. by the trail ending did it just abruptly stop? nothing going back? time to look for any signs of that.]

[ He wants to yell at them but he knows he'd just embarrass himself if he did. Instead, he yeets the spear back to land at them. let them find a way to not get stabbed by it, he's got more evidence to find because APPARENTLY, HE'S THE ONLY ONE HERE WILLING TO PUT IN THE WORK ]

Anyway, he wades out to the other items and gathers up as many of them as he can in his arms. What're we lookin' at here? ]

Also, I guess there are footprints heading back. This is why footprints make me cry. TOO MANY LOGISTICS.

Izumo and Vezda apparently race to the items. Vezda will get some bloodied clothes, while Izumo retrieves a skull mask. Enjoy standing in swamp water, you two. ]

and i can't believe izumo made an entire week without getting hurt. THANK GOD. but hooray for the skull mask? is there anything on the skull mask despite being in swamp water? traces of anything? anyway, she's exiting the swamp because she has done her duty. ]
