WEEK ZERO: ARRIVAL
WEEK ZERO: ARRIVAL (43 remain) Whatever each character was doing—chatting with friends, going to bed, saving the world—ceases. In fact, it's likely nothing more than a groggy memory now, as they open their eyes to unfamiliar surroundings. Apparently, they took a nap right in the middle of a small town, plopped outside on the paved road. Ow? Oh, but it looks like they've been given a goodie bag. Everyone likes gifts, right? Inside, it contains:
- packets of tea - one unlabeled pill - a rock that resembles the galaxy - if they're of age, a mini bottle of alcohol; if they're underage, a can of Mountain D*w Baja Blast instead - a singular condom - a single random one of these pillows (how did this fit?) - a handheld device Should they boot up the device, the screen helpfully informs them that it's a Participant Help System (PHS). Not much on it, but it does have a few apps, including a memo one for taking notes. There's also a messaging system, though it's only capable of receiving messages, not sending any. As a matter of fact, there's an alert for a new message already. Maybe it'll explain what's going on. Good evening, everyone. Uh, how are we sure theyāre arriving in the evening? Just say āhelloā! Or āgreetingsā! Greetings is fancy, right? Oh thatās true. Greetings, everyone. Thatās better? Yes! Except maybe we take out the thatās better part in the final version. Will do! Er, what? Unfortunately, it seems as though that's the only info they're given for now. In the meantime, why not explore the surrounding area? A number of buildings are locked, and the Planetarium appears to be closed, but there's enough to keep the characters occupied for a day or two. They might even want to get to know their fellow "participants" better, while they're at it. |

[Just helpfully explaining the concept of locked doors.]

[Well. Unfortunately for Mob -]
The fact that we aren't supposed to go in there makes me want to go in even more.

[That does clear it up for him. She's that kind of person, then. Makes sense.]
There might be a good reason, though. There could be hazards in there.

[So the risk is worth taking, she thinks.]

[He looks like he's very conflicted, and is weighing a few things over, and then nods, serious.]
All right. In that case, I'll open it.
[He holds out an arm and does nothing else and fucking nothing happens.]

[Yona just kind of stares at him for a few long moments.]
Um... it isn't opening.

[He seems really surprised, looking at his hand, and then back at the door, like this isn't computing for him at all.]
Somehow it didn't . . .

I guess I can't use my powers right now. I wonder why?

T. . . telekineses. And I can see and exorcise spirits, as well.
no subject
Are you some sort of priest?
no subject
No, I'm in middle school.
no subject
[Yona knows what school is (kind of - well, she knows what tutors are, and in theory there are schools in the cities, but she's never been), but she's never heard of a "middle" school.]
no subject
[He can't tell what she's objecting to so he's just throwing spaghetti at the wall.]
I do have a part time job after school? But my brother told me not to tell girls about that or they'll think it's sketchy.
no subject
[???]
Wait, would you tell me about your job if I wasn't a girl? That's not fair.
no subject
[He's trying to think of a good answer when she calls him out?]
Uh, no, no, probably not! I probably wouldn't have talked to you at all either way if you weren't breaking in!

[ :( !!! ]
no subject
Nothing bad! I'm not good at that!

[...is he?]
no subject
[This is fine, Yona?]
no subject
[Words are coming out of his mouth and they're having a conversation. It's fine.]

[He'll calm down a little, then.]
