WEEK ZERO: ARRIVAL
WEEK ZERO: ARRIVAL (43 remain) Whatever each character was doing—chatting with friends, going to bed, saving the world—ceases. In fact, it's likely nothing more than a groggy memory now, as they open their eyes to unfamiliar surroundings. Apparently, they took a nap right in the middle of a small town, plopped outside on the paved road. Ow? Oh, but it looks like they've been given a goodie bag. Everyone likes gifts, right? Inside, it contains:
- packets of tea - one unlabeled pill - a rock that resembles the galaxy - if they're of age, a mini bottle of alcohol; if they're underage, a can of Mountain D*w Baja Blast instead - a singular condom - a single random one of these pillows (how did this fit?) - a handheld device Should they boot up the device, the screen helpfully informs them that it's a Participant Help System (PHS). Not much on it, but it does have a few apps, including a memo one for taking notes. There's also a messaging system, though it's only capable of receiving messages, not sending any. As a matter of fact, there's an alert for a new message already. Maybe it'll explain what's going on. Good evening, everyone. Uh, how are we sure they’re arriving in the evening? Just say “hello”! Or “greetings”! Greetings is fancy, right? Oh that’s true. Greetings, everyone. That’s better? Yes! Except maybe we take out the that’s better part in the final version. Will do! Er, what? Unfortunately, it seems as though that's the only info they're given for now. In the meantime, why not explore the surrounding area? A number of buildings are locked, and the Planetarium appears to be closed, but there's enough to keep the characters occupied for a day or two. They might even want to get to know their fellow "participants" better, while they're at it. |

b.
Bubbles majestically float through the air behind it.
Ange does not see it coming at all--but miraculously, trips instead over a cobblestone at just the right moment to fall face first to the ground, just barely avoiding said rock.
It hits the ground with a thunk behind her, and slowly, she lifts her head to peer over her shoulder.
????!???]

Uh... You okay?
no subject
Ah, um, yes, I'm... Yes.
I'm--sorry. I wasn't paying attention, I suppose.
[A beat.]
Is that your rock...?
no subject
[ Hm. Clementine does go to retrieve her rock, picking it up and idly tossing it up and catching it a couple times. ]
... I guess so?
no subject
[This is fine.]
I found a similar rock in my bag, so... I suppose I was just curious. They don't seem very valuable.
no subject
Kind of small to be valuable.
[ Valuable = useful. Useful = weapon. Obviously. ]
no subject
I wonder why they gave it to us...? That seems like a lot of effort...
[For your kidnapping victims.]
I keep wondering if it means something, but I just can't figure it out.
no subject
All I know is that they don't seem concerned with our survival if this is all they left us.

Hey now, there's no need for a young lady like yerself to use language like that. What's the matter?
no subject
[ Vindictively swearing more because she was told not to... Rude... ]
I don't know where I am and they took my weapons. To start.
no subject
Far as I can tell, no one knows how they got here. I dunno about your own things, but I'm sure if we look around a bit we oughta find something that'd make do in a pinch.
[He knows having a way to defend oneself can be comforting so he's not about to say kids shouldn't have weapons.]
no subject
But - yeah. I'll feel better when I have something to defend myself with. Wasn't that attached to my own stuff, anyway.

[Looking around, before spotting the store.]
Might be something in there if ya wanna take a look.
[Thinking;]
If not, there's always that rock they put in those bags.
[Week 0 rock murder... 2?]
no subject
A rock that small is definitely a worst-case scenario. It's too light to cave a skull in.
[ she says this very lightly. ]
no subject
No, but hopefully there's enough adults around here that ya won't have ta do something like that, kiddo.
[You are officially being Protected.]

b
... at least the consequences are more harmless? He sidesteps the goddamn flying space rock, watching it just. Yeet. ]
... not the intended purpose of that, I think, but worth a shot.
no subject
What do you figure the intended purpose of a rock was?
a
I guess I used up the one swear for the whole movie in the first fifteen minutes, which was irresponsible of me.
no subject
[ ... well. there goes the game rating! ]
no subject
Oh, we're rated R now. [ she gives up on snapping. ] What are you missing?

... Human.

That's a pretty big thing to just misplace.
