WEEK ZERO: ARRIVAL (43 remain) Whatever each character was doing—chatting with friends, going to bed, saving the world—ceases. In fact, it's likely nothing more than a groggy memory now, as they open their eyes to unfamiliar surroundings. Apparently, they took a nap right in the middle of a small town, plopped outside on the paved road. Ow? Oh, but it looks like they've been given a goodie bag. Everyone likes gifts, right? Inside, it contains: - a single random one of the following headbands and sparklers - packets of tea - one unlabeled pill - a rock that resembles the galaxy - if they're of age, a mini bottle of alcohol; if they're underage, a can of Mountain D*w Baja Blast instead - a singular condom - a single random one of these pillows (how did this fit?) - a handheld device Should they boot up the device, the screen helpfully informs them that it's a Participant Help System (PHS). Not much on it, but it does have a few apps, including a memo one for taking notes. There's also a messaging system, though it's only capable of receiving messages, not sending any. [ Kano looks around too, stooping to pick up a rock about an inch and a half in diameter on all sides. ]

Maybe we can start with this and work our way up? If you can crush rocks, wood wouldn't be any match for you, right? Or, like, magical invisible barriers?

[ ah...the barrier.

xie lian scratches his cheek, smile going sheepish. ] ...Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be able to break the barrier... I don't think much of anything will be able to do that.

[ rocks and wood would be easy tho. ]

You've already tried?

[ Otherwise he wouldn't say it's impossible!! mister abs of steel ]

[ yea

of course he has. ] If you attack it, you simply bounce off. May I see? [ he holds his hand out for the rock for a demonstration! ]

[ okay, this rock will be sacrificed for barrier demonstrations, but he wants to see rock smashing abs in action too later. ]

[ he needs a bigger rock for smashing anyway!!

tossing the rock in his hand once to test the weight, xie lian then promptly yeets it at the barrier! the rock immediately bounces back, with a shower of bright sparkles as it does, and xie lian ducks so it doesn't hit him in the face.

there you have it! ]

[ Kano yelps and ducks so the rock doesn't hit him in the face. Sparkles? what??

He scavenges around and finds six more rocks and hands them all over. Do it again, all at once. ]

[dianxias]

[ sure why not. he takes the rocks as kano brings them to him, three in each hand... then pauses, stands in front of kano like a human shield, and then yeets them all in the direction of the barrier.

the same thing happens - the rocks go flying off, and there's a shower of sparkles. ] The more force you apply, the harder things bounce back.

[ Oh boy, oh wow, Kano makes himself as small as possible while he peeks past Xie Lian's side at the fireworks display in front of them. ]

Ooh... It never sparked when I bumped into it! How sparkly can you make it get? Like, light up the sky at night amount of sparkly?
