WEEK ZERO: ARRIVAL
WEEK ZERO: ARRIVAL (43 remain) Whatever each character was doing—chatting with friends, going to bed, saving the world—ceases. In fact, it's likely nothing more than a groggy memory now, as they open their eyes to unfamiliar surroundings. Apparently, they took a nap right in the middle of a small town, plopped outside on the paved road. Ow? Oh, but it looks like they've been given a goodie bag. Everyone likes gifts, right? Inside, it contains:
- packets of tea - one unlabeled pill - a rock that resembles the galaxy - if they're of age, a mini bottle of alcohol; if they're underage, a can of Mountain D*w Baja Blast instead - a singular condom - a single random one of these pillows (how did this fit?) - a handheld device Should they boot up the device, the screen helpfully informs them that it's a Participant Help System (PHS). Not much on it, but it does have a few apps, including a memo one for taking notes. There's also a messaging system, though it's only capable of receiving messages, not sending any. As a matter of fact, there's an alert for a new message already. Maybe it'll explain what's going on. Good evening, everyone. Uh, how are we sure they’re arriving in the evening? Just say “hello”! Or “greetings”! Greetings is fancy, right? Oh that’s true. Greetings, everyone. That’s better? Yes! Except maybe we take out the that’s better part in the final version. Will do! Er, what? Unfortunately, it seems as though that's the only info they're given for now. In the meantime, why not explore the surrounding area? A number of buildings are locked, and the Planetarium appears to be closed, but there's enough to keep the characters occupied for a day or two. They might even want to get to know their fellow "participants" better, while they're at it. |

[he'll go and place the shutters on now even though he can see literally nothing now
he smiles anyway]
Do they suit me?
no subject
[ she
well
hm. ]
... They're quite, um, bright. In colour.
no subject
oh boy he wants a library so bad right now
but regardless he's registering the look on her face and smiling even more brightly]
So they are! I've rarely seen pigments so saturated - I wanted to try them!
no subject
Was this the only bright colour there was?
no subject
Would you like one? Shall we match?
no subject
[ she pauses and then...
y'know. why not? ]
Sure. Which colour do you think would suit me?
no subject
[but he'll hum thoughtfully before wandering in the direction of the rack, beckoning alex to follow after him
to the wholeass display of shutter shades in all their garish colors]
Do you have a favorite color?
no subject
[ oh. wow. that's a lot of blinding shades. ]
I don't know.
I'd be happy with whatever though.
no subject
[little shit]
Ah! Then let's see... How about these? [he procures the red pair of heart-shaped shutter shades] A classic, until we find your favorite color.
no subject
[ make them a laughing stock. is what she should be saying out loud. ]
Alright then... [ she takes them and puts them on. hm. ] How'd they look?
no subject
[why not let people have an occasional laugh or smile
like the smile that he's giving alex!]
Lovely! Though I think your first pair might be more fitting for your image... I think this look is very charming.
no subject
[ and the corruption of the hierachical ladder continues ]
Hmmm. [ she takes them off and tries on the other ones. ] Well, these ones actually provide the sort of... tinting effect I'd expect them to. I'm not really sure how the other ones are meant to protect your eyes.
no subject
[he's at least not a total asshole probably]
They do seem like they're meant for a certain aesthetic rather than function, don't they? Though I wonder what type of aesthetic it is....
no subject
... A loud one, probably.
no subject
You're right. That would be bad - but... I don't think I have to worry about it for the men I've hired.
... which makes it a bit more problematic about why I'm here and not with them, but I suppose I'll just have to receive a report once we're reunited.
no subject
Makes you wonder how they managed to grab so many of us -- presumably all around the same time. Especially if, like you've said, you've got a guard most of the time.
no subject
There are a number of things I'm wondering about within that scope, yes.
I have a few theories, but nothing that can be confirmed until we meet the people in charge, unfortunately.
