WEEK ZERO: ARRIVAL (OVERFLOW)
WEEK ZERO: ARRIVAL (43 remain) Whatever each character was doing—chatting with friends, going to bed, saving the world—ceases. In fact, it's likely nothing more than a groggy memory now, as they open their eyes to unfamiliar surroundings. Apparently, they took a nap right in the middle of a small town, plopped outside on the paved road. Ow? Oh, but it looks like they've been given a goodie bag. Everyone likes gifts, right? Inside, it contains:
- packets of tea - one unlabeled pill - a rock that resembles the galaxy - if they're of age, a mini bottle of alcohol; if they're underage, a can of Mountain D*w Baja Blast instead - a singular condom - a single random one of these pillows (how did this fit?) - a handheld device Should they boot up the device, the screen helpfully informs them that it's a Participant Help System (PHS). Not much on it, but it does have a few apps, including a memo one for taking notes. There's also a messaging system, though it's only capable of receiving messages, not sending any. As a matter of fact, there's an alert for a new message already. Maybe it'll explain what's going on. Good evening, everyone. Uh, how are we sure they’re arriving in the evening? Just say “hello”! Or “greetings”! Greetings is fancy, right? Oh that’s true. Greetings, everyone. That’s better? Yes! Except maybe we take out the that’s better part in the final version. Will do! Er, what? Unfortunately, it seems as though that's the only info they're given for now. In the meantime, why not explore the surrounding area? A number of buildings are locked, and the Planetarium appears to be closed, but there's enough to keep the characters occupied for a day or two. They might even want to get to know their fellow "participants" better, while they're at it. |

Hello. Do you work here?

That might have not been brought with you.

[Well, that's okay. He'll probably get into a little trouble for losing it, but that's not important right now.]
Can I borrow your phone? I need to call someone to pick me up.

[Well, he doesn't know enough about cell phones to question that? He just doesn't know what to do, though.]
I really need to go home.

[Well, that's inconvenient, but oh well! If there's no avoiding it.]
How long will that take?
no subject
... hopefully not that long! Ah... haha...

Is there anything I can do to help. . . ?
no subject
Yes. We need you to help collect this substance called nova. It's... memories, and it makes up this Realm. But there's something that's taking nova from it, which is destabilizing the Realm to the point where it may soon collapsed.

[ a beat ]
We haven't really had a lot of time to prepare for all of this. We know there will be an opportunity next week though.
no subject
[That sort of deflates him.]
Everyone is going to be really worried. And I have school. . .
no subject
That should be fine. No one is passing by in your world, I believe. The Realm did try to accommodate you all, even if it meant that it didn't have the power to do other things here...
no subject
[At least, he thinks he understands.]
Well, if that's the case, I don't mind. Did you come here from someplace else, too?
no subject
[ there's a pause ]
We did, I think. Normally, nothing can live inside here. The Realm isn't really a place for people to reside, and instead somewhere that connects.
no subject
[That's sort of strange way to put that, right? But he's not sure if it's rude to ask, or if he understands any of this.]
no subject
I'm not entirely sure.
no subject
[It doesn't seem like there's anything further to press there or anything!]
. . . What's your name?
no subject
My name is Rabbit.
no subject
[That's so nice!]
I'm Kageyama Shigeo.

It's good to meet you. I am sorry about the wait.
