WEEK ZERO: ARRIVAL (43 remain) Whatever each character was doing—chatting with friends, going to bed, saving the world—ceases. In fact, it's likely nothing more than a groggy memory now, as they open their eyes to unfamiliar surroundings. Apparently, they took a nap right in the middle of a small town, plopped outside on the paved road. Ow? Oh, but it looks like they've been given a goodie bag. Everyone likes gifts, right? Inside, it contains: - a single random one of the following headbands and sparklers - packets of tea - one unlabeled pill - a rock that resembles the galaxy - if they're of age, a mini bottle of alcohol; if they're underage, a can of Mountain D*w Baja Blast instead - a singular condom - a single random one of these pillows (how did this fit?) - a handheld device Should they boot up the device, the screen helpfully informs them that it's a Participant Help System (PHS). Not much on it, but it does have a few apps, including a memo one for taking notes. There's also a messaging system, though it's only capable of receiving messages, not sending any. As a matter of fact, there's an alert for a new message already. Maybe it'll explain what's going on. Good evening, everyone. Uh, how are we sure they’re arriving in the evening? Just say “hello”! A number of buildings are locked, and the Planetarium appears to be closed, but there's enough to keep the characters occupied for a day or two. They might even want to get to know their fellow "participants" better, while they're at it.

[He laughs a bit awkwardly, and that drags some giggles out of her despite herself too, which she covers up with a hand.]

I am certain it is quite impressive when it is working. When you are no longer blocked, would you show it to me then?

I am sure I've never seen anything like it, and it sounds rather amazing.

Oh, yes...! I do love to read. I, um... I may not be confident in much, but I am confident in my ability to study...!

I was hoping there may be a library somewhere, but I have yet to find one...

That's great! There were some amazing libraries and archives in Central City...I just wish we'd had more free time. I could spend days reading about new things.

What kind of things do you like to study, Miss? Maybe we can find some books in the town!

Great libraries and archives do sound amazing... there is so much out there to read, I am realizing.

Oh, but I have a strong preference for history and literature--though I quite like what science we are able to study at school as well. It can be daunting to keep up with, since it is quite complicated... but I think there is enjoyment in understanding something complex, as well.

What about you, sir? Are you-- [...suit of armor...] --um, do Alchemists study at school...?

[he nods vigorously in agreement about how great studying something complex is]

Oh! You don't have to call me "sir" or "mister" or anything! Despite the armor, I'm not a knight or anyone with a special position. [he rubs the back of his head, a little sheepishly—especially when he's been embarrassed, he sounds a great deal younger than Ange, the boyish voice coming from somewhere within the imposing steel]

But, yeah, some Alchemists study in schools. My brother and I were mostly self-taught at first. Books and stuff our dad left behind. And then later we found a great teacher!

[Despite the armor... she does not understand the armor, but now she's afraid it would be too rude to ask.]

That is very impressive! It truly is so much fun to learn something new, though, isn't it?
