WEEK ZERO: MINGLE

WEEK ZERO: MINGLE
(43 remain)

Rise and shine, gremlins. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and it's the start of a new week.

Speaking of new, if participants turn on their PHS, they'll notice another section available. There's also an alert for a new message, titled TEAM ASSIGNMENT. Opening it will reveal which Leader they have been assigned to. Furthermore, at the corner of the PHS screen is an icon of an animal, depending on who their Leader is. It is visible only to them and no one else.

That's not the only change, though. Participants may not notice at first—or perhaps they will?—but sooner or later, they may realize that they're... missing something? Strange.

Three Leaders can be found around the area, open (?) to approach. If participants want to speak to them more privately, or to an absent Leader, it looks like they'll have to go through another channel. Which is to say, the Planetarium is now open!

Finally, for the rest of the week, the participants will inexplicably have the urge to be physically affectionate. That person you just met days ago? Time to cuddle! This complete stranger you ran into? It sure is tempting to hold their hand. This urge can range anywhere from minor to impossible to ignore, depending on the situation. Enjoy your bonding!

It probably wouldn’t be so pleasant if there was rioting in the streets every day, no.

A couple of people seem a little... sharp? Maybe? But that doesn’t make them unkind.
lecarre: (You're more impressed by a kid)

[personal profile] lecarre 2020-09-29 12:41 am (UTC)(link)
Right. And I suppose it is only natural to be a little, um... prickly. In a situation like this.
chanteuser: (116)

[personal profile] chanteuser 2020-09-29 08:38 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah. Even if they're right and we weren't... I guess traditionally kidnapped? It's still jarring to be dragged out of your home like that.
lecarre: (this is Corinthian leather.)

[personal profile] lecarre 2020-09-29 03:01 pm (UTC)(link)
It is... hopefully with the answers we've received, and more answers later on, we will be able to all come together and work together smoothly to return home...!

[ha ha]

[ ha ha-larious. ]

It sounds better than causing a fuss about it. And the sooner it's over and done with, the sooner we can go home and ... get back to normal. Or whatever normal is.
lecarre: (He growls of pleasure.)

[personal profile] lecarre 2020-09-29 04:21 pm (UTC)(link)
["Whatever normal is" tracks, honestly.]

Yes... then we will all go back to... our very different homes, from how things sound.

That is also still quite strange.

If you believe that this is some kind of crossroads, or "hub" like they said, then it kinda makes sense. But it's still a lot to take in.

[ that everyone here comes from, for the most part, different worlds...? ]
lecarre: (You're more impressed by a kid)

[personal profile] lecarre 2020-09-29 11:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Hmm... I haven't heard it described that way, but I think that does make more sense to me now that you put it like that.

Like... a meeting point for all of us, no matter how far away we're from.
chanteuser: (122)

[personal profile] chanteuser 2020-09-30 09:07 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, meeting point might be a better way of describing it. The implication that it's possible for anyone to end up here, even if it's like... difficult to do son? Kinda makes it both more and less daunting.

[ ... ]

Although that doesn't help with getting out.
lecarre: (until it's gone.)

[personal profile] lecarre 2020-09-30 04:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Perhaps not... but somehow, it feels as though if we wandered in, there must be a way for us to wander out, as well.

Perhaps that sounds silly, but I do find it a little reassuring.
chanteuser: (55)

[personal profile] chanteuser 2020-09-30 04:14 pm (UTC)(link)
I hope there is. The alternative isn't really something I want to think about too much.

[ terrible! ]

Better than resigning ourselves to being stuck here though, right?
lecarre: (and in the middle of the room)

[personal profile] lecarre 2020-10-01 12:06 am (UTC)(link)
Right...! It is definitely too early to give up on going home.

I'm very certain we'll make it back safe and sound.
chanteuser: (1)

[personal profile] chanteuser 2020-10-01 08:53 am (UTC)(link)
I hope so. [ that'swhatmakesyouhahaha.mp3 ] Surely people from our homes would realise we're missing and try to find us if we didn't...

Although I'm not sure how easy it would be to find us.
lecarre: (thoroughly tough thought though.)

[personal profile] lecarre 2020-10-01 06:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Um, yes! Certainly they would.

Regardless, there is no way we will be stuck here forever. I'm certain of it! We must just stay optimistic and hopeful.
chanteuser: (71)

[personal profile] chanteuser 2020-10-01 07:32 pm (UTC)(link)
[ ... ] I hope so.

You've certainly got enough optimism for the both of us either way.
lecarre: (...running off to Belize.)

[personal profile] lecarre 2020-10-01 07:45 pm (UTC)(link)
[...Ah.

She covers her cheeks with her hands a little bit, slightly flustered.]

Oh--was that a little bit too much...?
chanteuser: (127)

[personal profile] chanteuser 2020-10-01 07:47 pm (UTC)(link)
[ ...

that's cute, heck. alex laughs, but it's light and not cruel. ]

No, it's just the right amount. Don't be embarrassed about it.
lecarre: (who's living perception now?)

[personal profile] lecarre 2020-10-01 07:55 pm (UTC)(link)
[She still looks a little flustered, but.

She smiles a little, too.]

Um, right. I suppose I cannot help it. But I am happy if that optimism helps, too...!
chanteuser: (126)

[personal profile] chanteuser 2020-10-01 08:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Better than being all dramatic and depressing about it like I'm being. It's the right attitude to get more done with.
lecarre: (out here in the real world?)

[personal profile] lecarre 2020-10-01 08:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, no, miss! You haven't been dramatic or depressing!
chanteuser: (5)

[personal profile] chanteuser 2020-10-01 09:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Maybe a little. [ mmmmrrrr. she raises her hands and slaps at her cheeks. like a pep-talk without the talking. ]

I'll snap out of it once we know more about what's happening.
lecarre: (standing up)

[personal profile] lecarre 2020-10-01 11:54 pm (UTC)(link)
[omg]

Miss...! Are you all right? You're doing just fine, surely! Nobody could blame you for being overwhelmed by this situation.
chanteuser: (123)

[personal profile] chanteuser 2020-10-02 08:09 am (UTC)(link)
I'm fine! Just trying to snap myself out of thinking this over too much. You kinda get in a spiral, and the spiral's usually going down, right?
lecarre: (re you ready for a rocky trip in Heaven?)

[personal profile] lecarre 2020-10-02 03:23 pm (UTC)(link)
I suppose that is true... it can be easy to overthink a situation like this.

But just a small time ago you were singing...! I do not think that is the action of someone who is overly gloomy. Please don't be so hard on yourself.
chanteuser: (134)

[personal profile] chanteuser 2020-10-02 04:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Singing's just nice to do. Helps with the whole "taking your mind off of things" thing when you're just focusing on the music and the lyrics.

[ just wait until like tomorrow they'll all be gloomy then. ]
