WEEK ONE: MINGLE

WEEK ONE: MINGLE (40 remain) Rise and shine, gremlins. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and it's the start of a new week. To the participants, yesterday's events may seem distant now—albeit not as distant as their life before this. Whether or not they notice, they will have lost a memory upon waking up. The barrier to the north is down, and beyond the bridge lies new areas to explore. Strangely, what was there last week seems to have been replaced overnight. That's not the only thing that's different, either. The participants will find that their lodgings have changed. Finally, should anyone check their PHS, Hajime, Pikachu, and Virid's profiles have been removed. Three Leaders can be found around the area, open (?) to approach. If participants want to speak to them more privately, or to an absent Leader, it looks like they'll have to go through another channel. Furthermore, it looks as though the rules have updated. Finally, this week, the participants will find themselves drawn to one person in particular. Whoever that is, they will find themselves compelled to be close to them physically. The longer they attempt to resist this, the more compelled they will be... and the closer they will want to be, to the point that it might be emotionally and physically draining to not be holding hands or hugging them for several hours because you've ignored them too long. That's fun.

It's been a long week, you know. [it felt like forever. he tilts his head down to try and glimpse at the magazine.] What're you reading?

Really? [tiger your literature...] What's so interesting about those?

[retellers]

[ they look at him. ]

Have you ever heard of people having different interests?

[reconnective]

[great. another one of these.]

Yeah. Have you ever heard of people asking about people's different interests?

[retellers]

If you want to ask about someone's interests, I personally suggest not starting off with, "Really? What's so interesting about that?" Just FYI.

[reconnective]

Okay, okay, sorry. [sheesh.] Let's start over. I'm Sora. It's nice to meet you, Tiger. What do you like about...tabloids?

[retellers]

They're helping me waste time.

[ they turn a page. ]

That's fair. [he'll continue reading over their shoulder. which is actually just peering over the top of the magazine since he's still on the damn counter.] What else do you like to do to waste time?

[retellers]

Funny thing. Really don't remember my hobbies. Maybe I was really into bowling, who's to say?

[reconnective]

Hm...nothing at all? [he taps his chin in thought.] What if you were an opera guy?

[retellers]

Ugh. Gross.

[ no to opera. ]

I still have a general sense of what my likes and dislikes are. But whatever hobby I might have had must have been too important to me, since absolutely nothing comes to mind.

[reconnective]

So that's how that works, huh? [he's been trying to understand what the realm took and what it left behind.] Some hobbies really are everything to people.

Then...what are the things you like that you do remember?

[retellers]

[that's fine, he'll wait.]

...Fox told me they like music. And Rabbit seems to like animals. [if that helps jar their memory.]

... guess I must have not liked that many things.

[reconnective]

[tiger is just like wolf but maybe a little nicer about it.]

That's okay. There's always time to learn to like new stuff. You just have to pick somewhere to start.

[retellers]

[ sure! ]

You're really into the whole helping people thing, aren't you?

[reconnective]

Maybe. But even you have to agree your job isn't the best.

[retellers]

Oh, I hope I have never given the impression that this job is anything but shitty.

[reconnective]

But you still took it. [it's a statement, but it sounds like a question. is it possible tiger's circumstances were different?]

And I wonder every day why I did without asking for benefits first.

[reconnective]

Maybe it's not too late for negotiations. Have you tried asking?
