WEEK ONE: MINGLE

WEEK ONE: MINGLE (40 remain) Rise and shine, gremlins. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and it's the start of a new week. To the participants, yesterday's events may seem distant now—albeit not as distant as their life before this. Whether or not they notice, they will have lost a memory upon waking up. The barrier to the north is down, and beyond the bridge lies new areas to explore. Strangely, what was there last week seems to have been replaced overnight. That's not the only thing that's different, either. The participants will find that their lodgings have changed. Finally, should anyone check their PHS, Hajime, Pikachu, and Virid's profiles have been removed. Three Leaders can be found around the area, open (?) to approach. If participants want to speak to them more privately, or to an absent Leader, it looks like they'll have to go through another channel. Furthermore, it looks as though the rules have updated. Finally, this week, the participants will find themselves drawn to one person in particular. Whoever that is, they will find themselves compelled to be close to them physically. The longer they attempt to resist this, the more compelled they will be... and the closer they will want to be, to the point that it might be emotionally and physically draining to not be holding hands or hugging them for several hours because you've ignored them too long. That's fun.

[retellers]

[ they look back at the print. ]

Well, Peyonce Zpears is having an affair with Bris Tines for the third time in the last year.

[robopriest]

[Shakes his head.]

Really, when will Peyonce learn...Bris doesn't actually love them. It was doomed from the start.

[retellers]

I know, right?

[ they are rolling their eyes. you cannot tell at all. ]

Might as well breakup. Their couple name is terrible anyway. Like, really, Pis?

[robopriest]

Oof. You're right.

[he does the expression the same as a grimace emoji]

Bad stuff. Anyways...enough of that. Any gossip from our favorite Realm?

[retellers]

[ they look back at the magazine. ]

What kind of gossip?

[robopriest]

I guess why its suddenly into reality court show TV all of a sudden. Shouldn't it not be promoting this kind of stuff?

[retellers]

Someone went and murdered, so the Realm set up a way for us to figure out who did it.

[ a pause ]

A stupid as hell way, but it's pretty simplistic in how it does things. People solve murder cases in trials in many worlds, thus it decided that was how we must do it here.

[robopriest]

...

[Hm.]

Is it because it decided that, or because we expected that to happen?

[retellers]

No, that one it had to make its own decision, since we all had no idea what was going to happen. It's not humanoid or anything--it doesn't have emotions or thoughts the way we do. It can only go by people's memories, or what we are currently experiencing, which become memories.

[ they close the magazine. ]

It couldn't reach an answer on Friday going by what we were then experiencing, so it just went into its other resource--memories. Bam, a murder trial.

[robopriest]

[He opens his mouth. And then closes it.]

Hm. [HM!] So its basically using us as a blueprint.

[retellers]

More or less. It's not really used to dealing with people as directly as it is now. You know, when we got here, there wasn't even any food? It didn't even occur to the Realm that you needed to eat. So we have to supply it instead.

[robopriest]

[Dryly:]

Maybe we need to give it some textbooks on how humans actually work, huh.

[retellers]

Oh, don't say that. Next we'll end up in a school and will be expected to have classes.

[robopriest]

The Realm is the one who needs to take classes. Though I guess I don't want to really teach it human anatomy all that much...

[retellers]

Oh, health class. A terrible choice.

[ a pause. ]

I think.

[robopriest]

...You think?

[retellers]

I don't know if I ever took a health class.

[robopriest]

...

Is this one of your "possibly lost memory" things?

[retellers]

Yup.

I know what it is, but I have no idea if I've even went to school. [ ... ] Possibly a good thing?

[robopriest]

...

Well, at least you know how to read? [A beat.] You do, don't you?

[retellers]

Oh, no. Completely illiterate.

[robopriest]

My condolences. Maybe we need to review our ABCs.
