WEEK ONE: MINGLE (40 remain) Rise and shine, gremlins. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and it's the start of a new week. To the participants, yesterday's events may seem distant now—albeit not as distant as their life before this. Whether or not they notice, they will have lost a memory upon waking up. The barrier to the north is down, and beyond the bridge lies new areas to explore. Strangely, what was there last week seems to have been replaced overnight. That's not the only thing that's different, either. The participants will find that their lodgings have changed. Finally, should anyone check their PHS, Hajime, Pikachu, and Virid's profiles have been removed. Three Leaders can be found around the area, open (?) to approach. If participants want to speak to them more privately, or to an absent Leader, it looks like they'll have to go through another channel. Furthermore, it looks as though the rules have updated. Finally, this week, the participants will find themselves drawn to one person in particular. Whoever that is, they will find themselves compelled to be close to them physically. The longer they attempt to resist this, the more compelled they will be... and the closer they will want to be, to the point that it might be emotionally and physically draining to not be holding hands or hugging them for several hours because you've ignored them too long. That's fun.

[ If it's a home, some of these things have to be hers, right? Kano wanders over to the dart board and pokes the bullseye, and then frowns a little when nothing happens. ]

[ still, she's looking around with a complicated expression. like she misses the place but there's a slight crease in her brow as she's examining the simulation. ]

[ He has no idea what to make of that expression, but he ventures anyways, ]

...Is there supposed to be something more to this place that you feel like you're forgetting?

[ Pictures on the walls, a pet, mugs of hot coffee, something to make this place seem more like a home than an office. ]

[ there's... plenty more to the apartment but the hologram is only showing one small part of it. ]

I spend most of my time here, so it's not a surprise to see it. There's just... [ ... something uncomfortable, and she can't place it. a feeling like something invaded somewhere where you felt safe, but changed your perception on it. but she doesn't know what. ]

[ It's the feeling of a gremlin like Kano in your safe space... Wow, what he would think if he knew Alex was thinking that. ]

[ Oh, this is very weird, and Kano shuffles a little closer towards the center of the room as the shadows start to stretch across the ground and then meld into the rest of the darkness. ]

[ For Kano, it's better. The night and the darkness brings some sort of comfort in the same way it does the exact opposite, and he shifts to sitting on top of that table, ankles crossed and kicking slightly. ]

Then, let's change the inside? Like, what's for dinner, and who are your roommates, and that sorta stuff— I want to see that!

Can you make people appear here? It's just been ... objects and stuff so far.

[ it'd be weird to see people here, static and not moving. ]

[ There is absolutely no way he's going to let this thing hook up to his brain, no thank you. ]

Somehow that'd be weirder.

[ but okay. she's got a look of concentration on her face, nose wrinkled slightly.

eventually, two images will appear in the room. but they're fuzzy, and blurred around the edges. if kano tries to squint at them to look at distinctive features he'll probably struggle. but the fact they're both men, probably taller than alex is, although the one sat on the sofa doesn't look much taller than her, and one has dark hair and the other blond is probably about all he'll get from them.

[ she points at the blond one, and then the dark haired one: ]

Worick, and Nicholas.

I owe them a lot.

For giving you a place to be?

[ A home, if that's what she considers it. A safe space, maybe. But a place is a place. ]

More than that. But also for letting me stay with them, yes.

[suddenlybees]

Oh. Hm, yeah. Rent's tough.

[ Having two roommates cuts down the cost a lot and is plenty reason to be grateful, he gets it. Alex is very practical. ]

[ yes. rent costs. we'll go with that and less "not having a home at all" ]

Mm, well. The have a business out of the apartment-- [ she knocks her hand against the desk ]-- I answer the phone for them, and I've done one or two of their simpler jobs so I guess I work for the roof over my head.

But it's practical, yeah.
