WEEK ONE: MINGLE

WEEK ONE: MINGLE (40 remain) Rise and shine, gremlins. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and it's the start of a new week. To the participants, yesterday's events may seem distant now—albeit not as distant as their life before this. Whether or not they notice, they will have lost a memory upon waking up. The barrier to the north is down, and beyond the bridge lies new areas to explore. Strangely, what was there last week seems to have been replaced overnight. That's not the only thing that's different, either. The participants will find that their lodgings have changed. Finally, should anyone check their PHS, Hajime, Pikachu, and Virid's profiles have been removed. Three Leaders can be found around the area, open (?) to approach. If participants want to speak to them more privately, or to an absent Leader, it looks like they'll have to go through another channel. Furthermore, it looks as though the rules have updated. Finally, this week, the participants will find themselves drawn to one person in particular. Whoever that is, they will find themselves compelled to be close to them physically. The longer they attempt to resist this, the more compelled they will be... and the closer they will want to be, to the point that it might be emotionally and physically draining to not be holding hands or hugging them for several hours because you've ignored them too long. That's fun.

Oooh, yes! That sounds perfect.

I think we have discovered something amazing today, Sora.

[reconnective]

I think you're right. I never thought I'd discover a new species before...it's exciting! [is it.] Then again, I've never really seen space plants before. Usually it's just stars and asteroids.

[lecarre]

... Does that mean you've been to outer space before?

[??]

[reconnective]

Yeah. That's how our ship gets between different worlds. [this is said out-so-casually, too.]

[lecarre]

[... ?!?!?!?]

You travel through outer space at that? That is amazing...!

[reconnective]

Yeah. [there's a broad grin.] Me, Donald and Goofy have been going to different worlds to help them for a long time now. But we usually have to fly pretty far to get there because all of the routes are closed down. We have to create our own.

[lecarre]

[?!??!??]

That is... that is wonderful...! It must be so very exciting to travel like that--without any constraints at all, able to go wherever you'd like to go!

[reconnective]

It's pretty fun! But usually we're guided to worlds that need us, so even if we don't know the way we find the path ourselves. [he's moving on to poke another slightly spikier plant.] What about you, Ange? Have you traveled much before?

[lecarre]

Oh... no, not at all. But I really would love to, when I finish my studies! It is my goal...!

[She follows, but she is not brave enough to poke that spiky plant.

That said:]

Oh, this one reminds me of your hair, Sora!

[reconnective]

You think? [he hums a little, still prodding at the little plant.] I dunno. I just don't see it.

[he's teasing her, at least.] I think that's a good goal to have though. And it's something to look forward to. Where would you want to go first?

[lecarre]

You do not...? [SHE LOOKS PUZZLED.] But... the spikes...!

[focus, ange]

Oh, but that is--there are so many options! I suppose I had best start with the rest of Europe. France, Spain, Germany... but after, I would like to travel much further and see the rest of the world.

[reconnective]

[my favorite is that both ange and dorothy are the only ones to really point out his stupid hair. a hand comes up to touch one of his own spikes before he grins.]

Still different. [but he seems more interested in that answer even though i, ty, have no idea if he knows about real-world countries. what the hell is europe.] It sounds like you have a good plan already. Before I left home I'd never traveled either...my friends and I talked about leaving sometimes but...I don't really remember ever choosing to.

Even if it was an accident, it worked out okay.

[lecarre]

[They know what's up.

But.

Well... She smiles a little at that, dipping her head.]

An accident...? And then you ended up traveling that far? You must be so incredibly brave, Sora. I have been contemplating traveling for a long time, and yet... even so, it feels a little frightening too.

[reconnective]

Yeah. [...is he brave? he's not sure, and he turns to look at another brightly-colored plant.] ...a few years ago, our world was destroyed. I managed to get off of the island, but I ended up in a whole other world. After that? I met Donald and Goofy and we started traveling together to find our friends.

[but, before he can alarm her, he does quickly add one thing.] My world's okay now though. Everything's back to the way it should be.

[lecarre]

[She presses a hand to her chest. wheeze.]

Oh, thank goodness...! I am so glad your world is all right.

[...]

Still... I suppose I should learn from your example. If you can travel worlds, surely I can travel across the pond!

[reconnective]

I am, too. [more than glad, given the way his face visibly relaxes again.]

It's scary at first, especially if you're by yourself. But if you're with a friend it doesn't feel so hard. Maybe...do you have someone to go with you?

[lecarre]

Oh, that is...

[She flushes a little, dipping her head.]

In truth, there is someone I was hoping would come with me... but I have not told her yet.

[reconnective]

[...oh cute...]

Why not?

[lecarre]

Ah, well... she is so amazing, and I... am a rather dull person. So I do not know if she will want to even be friends.

[reconnective]

I don't think you're dull. [he barely knows her, but he likes what he's gotten to know so far.] And anyway...the only way to know is to ask.

[lecarre]

... That is true. I suppose... that would be the first step towards being a braver person too.

Just...asking.

[reconnective]

Asking is definitely the scariest part, but it's always easy after that. Even if she said no...you'll be stronger and braver than you were before. But I can't think of anybody who would say no to you.

[lecarre]

Now you are just being far too nice to me, Sora!

[But she's clearly pleased.]

Thank you. When I go home... it is the first thing I will do.

[reconnective]

[he only responds with a bright smile.]

Good. I hope it works out. [with that said though, he nods and turns to look at the array of plants around them.] Let's see what else we can find here. I bet some of them are even weirder.
