WEEK ONE: MINGLE

WEEK ONE: MINGLE (40 remain) Rise and shine, gremlins. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and it's the start of a new week. To the participants, yesterday's events may seem distant now—albeit not as distant as their life before this. Whether or not they notice, they will have lost a memory upon waking up. The barrier to the north is down, and beyond the bridge lies new areas to explore. Strangely, what was there last week seems to have been replaced overnight. That's not the only thing that's different, either. The participants will find that their lodgings have changed. Finally, should anyone check their PHS, Hajime, Pikachu, and Virid's profiles have been removed. Three Leaders can be found around the area, open (?) to approach. If participants want to speak to them more privately, or to an absent Leader, it looks like they'll have to go through another channel. Furthermore, it looks as though the rules have updated. Finally, this week, the participants will find themselves drawn to one person in particular. Whoever that is, they will find themselves compelled to be close to them physically. The longer they attempt to resist this, the more compelled they will be... and the closer they will want to be, to the point that it might be emotionally and physically draining to not be holding hands or hugging them for several hours because you've ignored them too long. That's fun.

Maybe some time you guys can visit the castle. That's tall. Also, we're like, right next to space, so that's super high?

[reconnective]

I really want to see the castle. [let! him! go! except he looks a little puzzled.] But yeah, do you know what that's all about? Where did space come from? Has it always been there?

[retellers]

Well, the Realm connects to all the worlds and dimensions out there through the flow of nova. So it's bringing us to places where that flow is being disturbed. That's why there's never any people around. It's like... the memory of that place? Or even of many places that sort of look like that.

[reconnective]

Like a sleeping world. [a place where things are frozen but can be replayed as they once were.] Think it's possible to change the memory of these places?

[retellers]

A sleeping world? [ they have no idea. what the heckie that is. ] Why do you want to change the memories?

[reconnective]

It's a long story. And it's not that I want to change them. I'm just asking if you think it's possible.

[retellers]

I hope not. [ they make a face ] We're here to fix a problem, not cause another one.

[reconnective]

That's a relief. But there's still a lot we don't know about the Realm. Is that true? Including you guys.

[retellers]

I guess so? [ they pause ] But I don't know how weird that is. Do you know everything there is to know about where you're from?

[reconnective]

Mm...probably not. We know a lot of things, but there are still some we don't totally understand. But that's different.

[retellers]

How? It's not like we live here permanently. Of course we wouldn't know everything about it.

[reconnective]

[he's just pouting at them.] That just seems really stupid when you're the only ones who can talk to the Realm.

[stupid is synonymous for "unfair" in this case, but.]

[retellers]

It's more like the Realm talks to us than the other way around. [ they make a face ] And talking is ... a very nice way to put it.

[reconnective]

Do you ever get the chance not to listen to it?

[retellers]

Sure. It's not telling us things all the time.

[ is that truly better ]

[reconnective]

[...hm.]

I can't decide if that's better or worse, Swan.

[retellers]

Definitely better. Do you want something in your head all the time?

[reconnective]

Okay, okay. When you put it that way I guess not.

[retellers]

There you go. [ nods ] So it's fine.

[reconnective]

So it's fine. [he repeats it but he's still not too convinced.] ...what else can your light tricks do?

[retellers]

[ ...mini fireworks is what they are choosing to answer that question with ]

Right? [ they laugh ] I can do other stuff, but I shouldn't do dangerous stunts in the middle of town.

[reconnective]

Probably not. We kinda need the town. But maybe if we get someplace bigger?
