WEEK ONE: MINGLE

WEEK ONE: MINGLE (40 remain) Rise and shine, gremlins. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and it's the start of a new week. To the participants, yesterday's events may seem distant now—albeit not as distant as their life before this. Whether or not they notice, they will have lost a memory upon waking up. The barrier to the north is down, and beyond the bridge lies new areas to explore. Strangely, what was there last week seems to have been replaced overnight. That's not the only thing that's different, either. The participants will find that their lodgings have changed. Finally, should anyone check their PHS, Hajime, Pikachu, and Virid's profiles have been removed. Three Leaders can be found around the area, open (?) to approach. If participants want to speak to them more privately, or to an absent Leader, it looks like they'll have to go through another channel. Furthermore, it looks as though the rules have updated. Finally, this week, the participants will find themselves drawn to one person in particular. Whoever that is, they will find themselves compelled to be close to them physically. The longer they attempt to resist this, the more compelled they will be... and the closer they will want to be, to the point that it might be emotionally and physically draining to not be holding hands or hugging them for several hours because you've ignored them too long. That's fun.

Officially, no? People don't see them as human, and I don't think some of them see themselves as being like humans either. [ it's complicated. ]

But it's not like those that don't think that way are allowed to forget they're Twilights.

("People don't think" he frowns and levels his eyes with Alex,)

[ she shrugs. ] I live with one.
He... used to scare me, but... not anymore. He's a kind person in his own way.

... There are good people and bad people, no matter whether they're stronger or faster than the average, or just different. I've seen regular people do worse that what Twilights are accused, or assumed of doing. I don't see why they should be looked down on for what people think they'll do, or because of what a few of them do. You might as well condemn all of us, if that's how it works.

(As he listens, he smiles quietly. It's a sympathetic smile, one that says he understands what she's talking about. Or at least, some of it,)

He's lucky to have found you.

(He leans back against the bridge's railing,)

I agree. We shouldn't judge people based on some preconceived notions. The only way to truly know someone is to give them a chance and get to know them. Then you can judge them by their own merit and your shared experiences.

I think he does just fine with or without me. Someone talked to me about it, early on. They reassured me because they knew I was scared of him, and it sort of... made me rearrange my thoughts and try and figure things out for myself.

[ nina is a much more perceptive person than she is, and she's only half of alex's age. ]

People don't always want to though. It's too easy to round people up, slap preconceptions on them and use them as an excuse for your anger or your hate.

I'm not... saying that Twilights don't hurt people. They do. And they're terrifyingly efficient at it, if they're strong enough. [ her finger tips rub at the plaster above her temple, absently and very briefly. ] But for every one Twilight that can and will hurt you, there's a group who just want to live peacefully. Or just as many regular people who would do the same.
