Rise and shine, gremlins. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and it's the start of a new week. To the participants, yesterday's events may seem distant now—albeit not as distant as their life before this. Whether or not they notice, they will have lost a memory upon waking up.

The barrier to the north is down, and beyond the bridge lies new areas to explore. Strangely, what was there last week seems to have been replaced overnight. That's not the only thing that's different, either. The participants will find that their lodgings have changed. Finally, should anyone check their PHS, Hajime, Pikachu, and Virid's profiles have been removed.

Three Leaders can be found around the area, open (?) to approach. If participants want to speak to them more privately, or to an absent Leader, it looks like they'll have to go through another channel.

Furthermore, it looks as though the rules have updated.

Finally, this week, the participants will find themselves drawn to one person in particular. Whoever that is, they will find themselves compelled to be close to them physically. The longer they attempt to resist this, the more compelled they will be... and the closer they will want to be, to the point that it might be emotionally and physically draining to not be holding hands or hugging them for several hours because you've ignored them too long. That's fun.

[ oh... xie lian didn't mean to sneak up on her, but what a lovely sight. when izumo speaks, he blinks, startled from where he's taking in the layout of the virtual reality, and turns to look at her. ]

[ xie lian pauses, trying to think if he's ever heard of a fox god.

....all that comes to mind is hua cheng, who is neither a god nor a fox. hm. ]

I see! [ does he. ] How curious, the gods of each world may be different, but our surroundings are all still the same... Miss, did you used to spend time in such a place?

[ does he really see? izumo has doubts, but he doesn't let himself get caught up with the details and just powers through which she can respect.

[ but with different gods...which isn't that strange considering but she's curious. her arms come to cross over her chest. ]

But I did; it's where I grew up.

En! In fact, I actually manage a shrine myself, at home. Not to the same god, certainly, but nonetheless! How exciting.

[ !!! his beloved shrine. he smiles, brightening up at it. ] Maybe I can show you...? [ with this wild vr room. ]

[ to say that she's not interested in seeing the shrine is an absolute lie. she is totally interested in it but she's not going to show it. but she will step to the side and let him fuss. ]

[ there is a long pause. ]

sigh. and cue her tapping on the screen a few times (because the mods didn't fully explain how this works, i'm making things up) before taking a step back. ]

[ though he is old and therefore not good with newfangled kid technology, xie lian can at least listen to directions. he closes his eyes, focusing.

and eventually, the vr unfolds into puji shrine! it is small, and very run down, but a shrine nevertheless! there's a sign outside the door, even, although its hard to read in the VR room, probably asking for donations.

as xie lian opens his eyes, he can't help but smile. ] ...It's a bit smaller than the one in yours, and certainly more...erm, well, it needs some TLC... I've not been there very long. [ and it gets destroyed like all the time. ] But this is Puji Shrine.

[ quietly, izumo takes in the entirety of the shrine and doesn't seem to mind how it lacks the upkeep that the one she grew up in seemed to have. there is a charm of it on its own and she can't quite put her finger on what it is.

subtly, she delights in it. ]

[ ah... xie lian seems to shine with the comment. he reaches up to rub the back of his head, a sheepish laugh coming out of him as he does. ]

Do you...? It is small, but it is home. I've been working hard to restore as much of it as I can, when I have the time to.

[ his hand falls away to touch his heart, though, happy. ] There is still much to be done, but it is quite nice to have a place to call home.

[ izumo continues to take in the shrine and imagines how it'd look like in a year or even after a few months of proper care. it'd never be like where she grew up but there's no reason it had to be. ]

As long as you have somewhere to call home—it's not so bad. [ a brief pause. ] Have you thought of bringing anyone in to help?

I haven't. [ with a small, sheepish smile.

izumo's inspection of said shrine won't give her lots of specific details apparently, but there's a small altar visible, with candles and incense, and a lovely painting hanging directly over the mantle. if you squint it's maybe a tiny, tiny bit familiar?

too bad this is vr so. ] The village that Puji Shrine serves is quite small, and I don't have the money to pay anyone to help... plus, the god that the shrine serves does not have many followers, so we don't receive offerings very often.

Sometimes anyone ever needs is bed to sleep in and food for their belly.

[ is she speaking from experience here? who knows, either way she still considers his reply as well as squinting at what looks like it might be a familiar.

if only it is one of those "one of these things doesn't quite look like the other". ]

Well, maybe some day someone will come and help you out. It's not always about money.
