WEEK ONE: MINGLE

WEEK ONE: MINGLE (40 remain) Rise and shine, gremlins. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and it's the start of a new week. To the participants, yesterday's events may seem distant now—albeit not as distant as their life before this. Whether or not they notice, they will have lost a memory upon waking up. The barrier to the north is down, and beyond the bridge lies new areas to explore. Strangely, what was there last week seems to have been replaced overnight. That's not the only thing that's different, either. The participants will find that their lodgings have changed. Finally, should anyone check their PHS, Hajime, Pikachu, and Virid's profiles have been removed. Three Leaders can be found around the area, open (?) to approach. If participants want to speak to them more privately, or to an absent Leader, it looks like they'll have to go through another channel. Furthermore, it looks as though the rules have updated. Finally, this week, the participants will find themselves drawn to one person in particular. Whoever that is, they will find themselves compelled to be close to them physically. The longer they attempt to resist this, the more compelled they will be... and the closer they will want to be, to the point that it might be emotionally and physically draining to not be holding hands or hugging them for several hours because you've ignored them too long. That's fun.

Not a training school like that. I haven't been for a while anyway. [therefore it's boring and he's not interested in talking about it.] What's an Agito cadet?

Was it a quiet school where you could actually be normal? [ She seems pretty interested in it. ]

Agito Cadet are students who are training to use magic in hopes of becoming Agito. Sort of like training to be a hero I guess.

Yup. Just a regular school. Our island was always pretty quiet anyway.

[hero school...? another one? he's hearing about all kinds of stuff lately.] But it sort of sounds like I'd like your school better. I bet you get to learn all kinds of cool stuff.

[pulsecannon]

I don't know about that. Going to a regular school where it's pretty quiet sounds nice...

[ She wishes she could be normal. ]

There wasn't much time to really enjoy it. We were sent all over Orience to help a fight here or a battle there.

[reconnective]

I guess it was for a while. [that sounds a little more hectic though.] So it wasn't really a school as much as it was field training. Was Orience just really busy?

[pulsecannon]

You could say that. The entire continent was at war for months.

[reconnective]

[just another world where conflict's running rampant. he's also pretty sure this counts as something meaningful, but he's not pointing that out to cater yet.]

Over what? Is it still just as bad?

[pulsecannon]

What wars are usually fought over, I guess. I didn't really think about it, because orders are orders. [ There's a lot she didn't think about until the end... giving a somber look for a moment. ] We did put an end to it though.

[reconnective]

[that expression isn't exactly a cheerful one, and he knows he shouldn't outright ask but he does anyway.]

Are things any better then?

[ There's a flicker of something unreadable on her face. Then she'll give a smile as she raises her hand into a fist. ]

I hope so! I don't know if we made the right choice there or what we even did. It felt right afterwards.

[reconnective]

[hm. odd. but he offers a smile back.]

That happens sometimes. But if it feels right, then...it's probably still okay. [hopefully. hm x2.]

Right![ It's definitely okay. Nothing wrong at all ]

So why haven't you been to school for a while?

[reconnective]

Oh. I had to leave my island for a while because the worlds needed our help to stop the Heartless. [this is the most condensed version of events and he knows it, but "my home was destroyed and i got jettisoned to a whole other one by myself and wandered around killing monsters trying to find my friends" seems like a bit of an overkill.]

[pulsecannon]

Huh? What is a heartless? Are they missing hearts or a group's lame attempt to sound evil?

[reconnective]

The first one's closest. They're monsters that consume people's hearts.

[pulsecannon]

Arg. That must be pretty creepy, huh?

[ she had to deal with... people and dragon eating monsters before so... ]

[reconnective]

They're pretty bad...they look for places and for hearts with darkness so they can take them for themselves. And then you have Nobodies, too.

[it's. it's a time.]

Sounds like quite the problem. [ She's not sure if that easier to deal with or harder than soldiers with guns.

There's a frown as she asks the next question. ]

Do Nobodies eat bodies then?

[reconnective]

Kinda, I guess. Nobodies are what's left after a heart's taken. But I don't think they really eat the bodies the way Heartless eat hearts.

[pulsecannon]

So it's complicated. There's Heartless, Nobodies... anything else?

[reconnective]

There's always something else. [but he grins instead of being annoyed about it.] But it's okay. We always manage to take get rid of 'em in the end.

[pulsecannon]

Because you're a junior hero, right?

[ Teasing a bit. ]

[A BIG EYEROLL.]

The data's not updated, we're totally real heroes now.

[ The reaction does earn a smile. ]
