WEEK ONE: MINGLE (40 remain) Rise and shine, gremlins. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and it's the start of a new week. To the participants, yesterday's events may seem distant now—albeit not as distant as their life before this. Whether or not they notice, they will have lost a memory upon waking up. The barrier to the north is down, and beyond the bridge lies new areas to explore. Strangely, what was there last week seems to have been replaced overnight. That's not the only thing that's different, either. The participants will find that their lodgings have changed. Finally, should anyone check their PHS, Hajime, Pikachu, and Virid's profiles have been removed. Three Leaders can be found around the area, open (?) to approach. If participants want to speak to them more privately, or to an absent Leader, it looks like they'll have to go through another channel. Furthermore, it looks as though the rules have updated. Finally, this week, the participants will find themselves drawn to one person in particular. Whoever that is, they will find themselves compelled to be close to them physically. The longer they attempt to resist this, the more compelled they will be... and the closer they will want to be, to the point that it might be emotionally and physically draining to not be holding hands or hugging them for several hours because you've ignored them too long. That's fun.

In case we start to run out of food and have to rely on this stuff so everybody can live, right? I get it. If you can use me, then use me.

Sora and I have discussed starting a garden, but we might not be able to be picky about our choices.

Maybe start with the non-space plants.

[ Even then, if any of these things are medicinal in any way, that might end up being a big help. Other than that... Kano falls quiet for a moment, before looking up at Chiron. ]

Think we'll be here long enough to run out of food and need a garden? There's still food left, and we're not having stupid parties every other day, and people can survive about a month on just water, right?

... I think that no matter the case, it is best we be prepared.

[Which isn't quite answering his question, but...]

As of yet, I've not heard of how long it will take us to collect all of the necessary Nova to correct the Realm's problem. And there is always the possibility that things could go wrong.

Hm... yeah. This is such a pain in the ass. I bet things will go terribly wrong and we don't have to worry about food shortage.

... A rather pessimistic view, but I can't deny that might well happen.

Will our chances of survival be higher if we cull our numbers early?

[ There's probably some sort of math that'll determine the longest survival time for the greatest number of people, balancing the two extremes of keeping everybody alive and burning through the food supply and quickly ultimately starving to death, versus sacrificing a bunch of people so the few left over can live longer on the limited amount of food.

If we do not consider the competition or that we are supposed to be retrieving Nova, then -- yes. Less numbers would burn through the food supply at a shorter pace.

But it is important to consider the emotions of those who manage to survive. Culling numbers could cause many of them to lose faith, and so lead to more death.

[suddenlybees]

So... kill off the weak, essentially. The ones who are gonna drag you all down.

[ Like him! It's nice when things are justified in backtags. ]

Haha, isn't that a thought? For the best chance of survival, you gotta pick and choose who lives and who dies.
