WEEK ONE: INVESTIGATION (?? remain) On Friday morning at 7am, all the doors will unlock and the participants may traverse between areas again. Participants will find that, as they leave wherever they slept, everything feels... unclear? Did they see whoever they were with? They can no longer remember. Even for those who spent the night alone, they can feel that something is off. It doesn't seem as though the Leaders are around. However, an alert will notify the participants to a new message on their PHS. oh n Time to investigate. ༶•┈┈⛧┈｡o°✥✣ 　　 ✣✥°o｡┈⛧┈┈•༶ Welcome to your second investigation! We will be posting top-levels for searchable locations—one set at 6pm EST and another set at 7pm EST. Each location will contain evidence to find, though it's up to your efforts as to whether you find all of it. Please coordinate investigation groups on Discord, as we ask that group threads consist of no more than 2-3 characters. We will stop tagging each top-level two hours after it went up, i.e. at 8pm and 9pm EST, respectively. Don't worry if you don't find everything! Characters will get the chance to revisit locations tomorrow at trial. At 9pm EST, an announcement will go up, confirming the victim(s). [Starting from the bridge, Rufus is about to make his way into town when he crosses paths with another participant or two.]

It seems we will be investigating again.

[Is there anything to notice about the bridge at a first glance?]

[evocationary]

Aw, man. I hate group assignments.

[ but she does tug on usagi's hair as she passes her to go look at the bridge. she's gonna look over to see into the river. ]

I ain't jumping in this week, I'll tell you both that now.

[ despite the fact that usagi looks like she just rolled out of bed (pictured: see the bow she left in a pigtail), she still looks relatively ready to investigate. even if she does stick her tongue out at lup's back. ]

Mermaid-sans probably wouldn't like that anyway.

[ she does however glance nervously around the river and surrounding areas when she says it. nothing just hanging out there in the open, right? no disturbed dirt? ]

[ Probably the first thing they'll notice is a tray with two teacups has been left on the bridge. That's normal.

There's no disturbed dirt near the river, but there does seem to be... something in the river. It's difficult to tell from a distance. Lup has to be the one to jump in because she said she wouldn't. ]

[soulus]

[Lup can jump into the river.

Rufus goes over to inspect the tray with teacups. Is there anything else on the tray, and do the teacups contain anything or otherwise appear amiss?]

[ I SWEAR TO GOD ]

Nope! Nope, I got my hair wet last week! What the fuck! [ she squawks this. ] Egg girl gets to go this time. Go on.

[ she nudges usagi towards the river. in you go. ]

[moondumplings]

[ she squawks right back. ]

No, no, no! I don't want to fight them again!! [ again?? ]

Lup-san!!!!

[ which is why she trips over herself and right into the river. too bad she was clutching on to an arm when it happened??

so uh. anything gonna float towards them while she's yelling and splashing?? ]

[ Unfortunately, whatever it is? It don't float. So... gonna have to dive for it.

Meanwhile, Rufus is having a grand time observing these tea cups. They're full of a mysterious, dark liquid that looks like tea. There's nothing else on the tray! Just tea cups full of ... maybe tea. ]

[soulus]

[Goodbye, girls.

Well, he's not drinking that (for now). But he will take the tray with the teacups in tow and watch his fellow investigators from the bridge.]

[ AAAAAAA there she goes. both of them in the river. lup is furious.

but while she's here, she pushes usagi towards the riverbank and then goes to dive for that mystery item. grumbling.

it's just like angry bubbles coming up to the surface as she swims for it. ]

[ this whole tag is only to say usagi is unhappily complaining about how cold and wet she is




why did we let her investigate again?? ]

[ The solution is to make Usagi drink the tea.

It looks like some kind of... weights? And-- oops, watch out grabbing that, Lup! Those wire pieces are very sharp. Ouchie ouch. ]

[soulus]

[That's a good idea. Rufus walks over to Usagi and offers her a teacup.]

Please drink this.

[evocationary]

[ weights - like. what... what kind of weights? gym weights? anyway she picks it up and then yells and swallows a bunch of water because ow, her hand.

... she's determined to bring them up to the surface though since she's OUT HERE. so she might as well try to get them... to the riverbank, if she can. she's noodly, she might not be strong enough. ]

[moondumplings]

[ so guess who didn't notice the teacups etc when they got here ]

Oh, thank you...

[ closes my eyes cause she drinks it. ]

[retellers]

[ They're lab calibration weights! So they're not that heavy. Even a weak Lup can carry them. The wire, now that she has cut herself and nearly drowned, is just the one! It is tied to both edges of the weights.

Usagi drinks freezing cold chamomille tea and instantly dies of poison. ]

[retellers]

[ Just kidding it's only tea. ]

[soulus]

[Unless Lup shows any signs of struggling to surface, Rufus will ignore her in favor of Usagi.]

How does it taste?

[ she's going to lay here on the river bank for a second, make a grouchy sound, and then take the weight up to the two of them, looking like a drowned rat. ]

Well. I found these. Thanks to nobody but me.

... Are we checking anywhere else. [ she asks, spitting river water out to the side. ]

[moondumplings]

[ bleeegh cold tea ]

I think it's Chamomile?

[ we're gonna say she knows what that is for reasons. but she at least worriedly looks over lup for being a good(?) sport(?) and fetching the item and beams like she didn't have a hand in forcing that ]

[ but now that that's done, time to keep moving?? she's gonna start heading towards the path of the inn and glancing around as she goes. no sus prints or blood trails right?? ]

[ for clarity's sake because i love to add and retract "s" like my life depends on it, it's two weights each with a wire attached.

Anyway, there's nothing on the way to the inn! There's also nothing in the inn lobby itself, which I will give you to make up for my inability to write plurals. Go look at the kitchen. There's nothing immediately out of place... ]

[soulus]

[With their items thus far in their possession, they head to the kitchen. Rufus makes a beeline for the walk-in freezer, leaving Lup and Usagi to check the appliances out in the open.]

[ lup is going to kill whoever broke the kitchen

but she keeps the weights in her pockets for now and goes to check all the cabinets. she drips water everywhere.

also she'll check the ceiling. ]

[moondumplings]

[ usagi, in continuing uselessness just heads straight for the cabinets to make actual warm drinks before she in fact does freeze to death.


i hope they're just all missing the body in the middle of the room ]
