WEEK TWO: MINGLE
WEEK TWO: MINGLE (37 remain) Rise and shine, gremlins. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and it's the start of a new week. To the participants, yesterday's events may seem distant now—albeit not as distant as their life before this. Whether or not they notice, they will have lost a memory upon waking up. The barrier to the north is down, and beyond the bridge lies new areas to explore. Strangely, what was there last week seems to have been replaced overnight. That's not the only thing that's different, either. The participants will find that their lodgings have changed, and new buildings within the town have been unlocked. Finally, should anyone check their PHS, Cater, Sharon, and Kano's profiles have been removed. Three Leaders can be found around the area, open (?) to approach. If participants want to speak to them more privately, or to an absent Leader, it looks like they'll have to go through another channel. Furthermore, it looks as though the rules have updated. If you break the current ninth rule, participants will get shocked. It will be a mild shock at first, but the longer they touch each other, the stronger it will get. On that note, if your character did not share a memory last week, please make sure to check your notifs! Participants may also find that their memories of the past few weeks are getting fuzzier... as though they can't recall some of the details without focusing. Finally, this week, every time a participant gets within one foot of someone, they will experience the emotions the other person is currently feeling and vice-versa. This will last for ten seconds even after they've stepped out of their personal bubble, after which the sharing itself might share, but the knowledge will not. Have fun! |

being here with jeanne is a bit awkward but also fine. ]
So, the nova have decided to show up as a pirate skeleton raid and as villagers.
[ a sigh. ]
This feels like I'm in a movie or a video game for sure now.
no subject
Jeanne puts asides feelings in times of duress, so she treats her as she would in any other situation. ]
As long as you don't treat it as what it feels like, I'll worry less.
[ She's calm and has her flag held at the ready.
What's up, West Swamp? ]
Do you know how to fight? I will try to get you something to use, if you do.
no subject
The first is that, well, there are a lot of skeletons? Obviously. It's an attack, the second, is that some of them aren't holding swords and are instead holding... shovels? These are some digging skeletons.
They pause when they notice the girls, look down at where they're digging, and then a few of them run to attack! With shovels and swords! ]
no subject
or, well, skeletons that were digging until they saw them. could they see what they were digging for before they come rushing or is that too late? ]
You don't have to worry—I don't take things like this lightly. [ since it's feelings week, jeanne can sense her determination and resolve if she's close enough. none fear. ] I'm not the best with fighting, but I'll try not to be a burden.
[ cue izumo looking for anything around her to grab to defend herself from incoming shovel or sword? she is not armed. ]
no subject
She spins her flag because she's a little extra before pointing it at the oncoming skeletons. ]
I will get you a shovel.
[ Jeanne absolutely uses her flag like a polearm and comes in from above to absolutely try to break the arm off a skeleton holding a shovel. ]
no subject
But looks like that won't be needed, I guess, because Jeanne just used a fucking pole?? The skeleton's arm flies off... there it goes... it now fell into gross swamp water. Are you going to get that.
Meanwhile, the skeletons rush them. ]
no subject
Thanks!
[ so yeah, you bet izumo is gonna get a shovel over a stick. a shovel has a metal part where she's definitely going to use to swing and smack and skeletons that come her way. ]
no subject
Jeanne runs to intercept as many of the skeletons as she can, intending to smash them to pieces.
Like the first 10 seconds. ]
I do think we should get them away from what they're digging.
[ That was very curious? ]
no subject
emet-selch is here slightly late (someone wasn't in a rush, apparently), a bow in hand (thanks chiron)-- though he glances between it and the skeletons dubiously. hm.]
Well, I cannot promise this will be of much use, but I'm certainly not getting any closer to them.
[he is not melee specced, thank you.]
Lure them further from it, and that may afford an opportunity.

(No flesh and all that?? Just bones?
Hello this is Claude, the literal and figuratively dodgiest of the main lords so he's able to dodge a skeleton swinging at him with a sword! He's also not some soft and squishy noble because once he dodges, he's just going to try and knock one skeleton's arm up to take their sword.)
Izumo's pretty fast.
(JUST VOLUNTEERING HER FOR BAIT? Just kidding.)
no subject
For some reason, the skeletons seem to want to avoid Jeanne? They're like, backing away from her in particular and instead are not rushing towards Emet-Selch to attack him instead, because he seems less intimidating. A few others also charge at Izumo and Claude.
Seriously, they are just. Stepping out of Jeanne's way.
Meanwhile, there are other skeletons who are now digging much faster while all the fighting is going on. Interesting.
no subject
Too bad for you, it looks like they're interested in you.
[ her most dry response is aimed towards emet-selch as she definitely notes how they are heading towards him. you know, in addition to herself but that's fine. ]
And you. [ aimed toward claude. please let her be able to punctuate this statement by taking a swing at a skeleton and maybe come close to taking it's head off. ] You be bait this time!
[ she swears to the gods, claude. ]
no subject
She wanted to smash a skeleton into smithereens. ):
Realm, didn't you hear Hansa call her a saint?
But if they seem to be avoiding her, she's just going run straight for the diggers. ]
All of you, please do not be bait and simply defeat them. [ read: beat them down mercilessly ] I trust you all will keep safe, as I chase them away.
[ what will she find this fine night ]
no subject
(Honestly, Claude deserves to die for making me type this.
Anyway, he laughs at Izumo?? He doesn't mind being bait. He's already doing a pretty solid job at just dodging and getting away. He might not be myrmidon or swordmaster tier or anything but he's fine. Claude is fine. And if he isn't, he deserves to get hit tbh.
When he gets the chance, he quickly readies his bow and fires one arrow at a skeleton's raised arm, hitting it in the elbow. Nice shot? Anyway, he's trying to hit what looks like weak spots so he can just disarm them. he's fast! But it still takes some time and lets be real, a bow isn't ideal for close range fighting so his priority is trying to get a sword or shovel from one of them!! Another one gets close to him and he just kicks it in the shins so it falls and steps on an arm, reaching down very swiftly and casually to pick up their sword. He's ready to go!!!)
Right, right, just stop them from digging whatever they're doing. Unless it's their graves then by all means, let them go at it.
(Please, kill me)
no subject
[that's to jeanne-- he never was going to be bait, let's be real. izumo just gets a roll of his eyes in response to her comment, and emet-selch lines up a shot at one of the approaching skellies.
the good news for him is that the skeletons getting closer offsets his weak point of being unused to what is enough strength to put behind a given shot, so he's able to get one in the larger target of their head-- not dead center, but he's apparently got very good aim from this distance-- but then they're closing in more, forcing him to fall back. he's still not here to melee them, thanks.
and to claude:]
If you would like to re-bury them, then by all means-- after they are put down.
no subject
Meanwhile, Izumo manages to get a hit! Outraged, the skeleton picks up a very large rock (how can it lift it when it has no muscles) and throws it at her.
Jeanne will see that they are digging up a... chest! Wow! They are very occupied with this, and don't seem to notice her approaching them.
Claude and Emet-Selch are both very rude. The skeleton wants its sword back? It lunges at Claude, trying to grab the sword. A few other skeletons are now trying to figure out how to advance on rat grandpa. One has an arrow stuck in its eye socket now. It's walking in the wrong direction, because now it cannot see. ): ]
no subject
pretty much sums it in terms of commentary since emet-selch's eye roll will be met with another eye roll. it's fine. he's doing something so she's not gonna say anything else, and claude is shooting arrows into the skellies so that's cool too. what's kind of not cool is how there's a large rock being thrown at her?
wow? well, she's gonna jump (dodge roll) out of the way of that (hopefully) and then come back and give it a good smack for good measure. rip skellie that seems to be walking in the wrong direction though. she'll leave that poor sack of bones to figure things out. ]
no subject
anyway!!
Jeanne.... actually.... laughs(?) at Claude's puns. Does she truly find them funny or is she just being nice? ]
Prepare yourselves!
[ That's all the warning the skeletons get before in a move that is going to be very bad for her injuries, Jeanne shifts her grip on her standard and swings at all the skeletons digging like they're baseballs on top of a tee and she's trying to hit a home run.
Not their skulls. Their whole entire skeletons. ]
no subject
anyway, while the skeletons try to figure out how to advance on him, he lines up another shot on a different one-- depending on how far they are, though, it might graze the next skeleton or fall just short. the aim is good but he is still acclimating to standard bows... mostly, though, he's keeping an eye on them to be ready if they try to move in, seeing if they're dissuaded at all from it or if he's about to have to deal with this.]
no subject
He sees some of the skeletons? Gossiping and takes aim with his bow and
Fwip (one arrow), fwip (two arrow)
He's aiming right for their skulls. Stop talking, please.)
no subject
Izumo smacks some! One of the skeletons gasps, and goes to slap Izumo with its... very hard, skeletal hand. ]
That was my boyfriend, you [ uhhhhh what is an era appropriate word for bitch fuuuoH ] wench!
[ Jeanne succeeds in being super badass and smacking the skeletons. She is so cool? The bad news is that they go flying right towards Emet-Selch and Claude, while they are being cool with arrows. Whoops. ]
no subject
[ and, i guess, cue izumo slapping the skellie back with her hand instead of her shovel because this is the path that you've lead us down. should she be concerned about how it's talking? no. she deals with demons all day every day in her normal life.
talking skellies are just....fine. ]
He tried to hit me first—!
no subject
I apologize! And use your shovel, Izumo!
[ Don't be daft.
It's all sincere even if that's all they get because Jeanne is going to focus on the
treasure chest?
Is it dug up enough for her to get to or will she need to dig more? If the first, she will try to open it. If the latter, hopefully there is a discarded shovel from one of the skeletons she smashed, so she can use it. ]
no subject
[but listen, a bitch is not too proud to duck. I don't know how high or far they are but if they could feasibly go over he is just going to duck and let that happen... otherwise he is getting the fuck out of the way. he's not a target for skeletal bowling, what the fuck!]
no subject
But the skeleton just slaps Izumo back, offended. ]
You probably deserved it!
[ And also, Jeanne will have to dig some more. It's fine, because the skeletons are now approaching Emet-Selch again after seeing his cool ass dodging skills. Impressive, but they must avenge their brother. ]
