WEEK TWO: MINGLE

WEEK TWO: MINGLE (37 remain) Rise and shine, gremlins. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and it's the start of a new week. To the participants, yesterday's events may seem distant now—albeit not as distant as their life before this. Whether or not they notice, they will have lost a memory upon waking up. The barrier to the north is down, and beyond the bridge lies new areas to explore. Strangely, what was there last week seems to have been replaced overnight. That's not the only thing that's different, either. The participants will find that their lodgings have changed, and new buildings within the town have been unlocked. Finally, should anyone check their PHS, Cater, Sharon, and Kano's profiles have been removed. Three Leaders can be found around the area, open (?) to approach. If participants want to speak to them more privately, or to an absent Leader, it looks like they'll have to go through another channel. Furthermore, it looks as though the rules have updated. If you break the current ninth rule, participants will get shocked. It will be a mild shock at first, but the longer they touch each other, the stronger it will get. On that note, if your character did not share a memory last week, please make sure to check your notifs! Participants may also find that their memories of the past few weeks are getting fuzzier... as though they can't recall some of the details without focusing. Finally, this week, every time a participant gets within one foot of someone, they will experience the emotions the other person is currently feeling and vice-versa. This will last for ten seconds even after they've stepped out of their personal bubble, after which the sharing itself might share, but the knowledge will not. Have fun!

[Ange is... being shockingly competent??? Who is this, we just don't know. She's using whatever water supply she can to get any rugs/tapestries/any fabric she can find damp, and then tossing them to smother the biggest fires. A shocking burst of competence, how long will it last??

[ The barmaids scream something about the horse monster abandoning them to their fate. They miss their hero, Ange. rip.

But the skeletons baffedly let Chiron go back into the burning pub, where the baby is giggling in joy. It waves at Chiron once more from beneath a table and says "silly horsie" before delving deeper into the building. Ange is luckily doing a great job trying to tame it, but also, it's been on fire for a while now and you are not a fire fighter, so you guys are all going to die of smoke inhalation. I'm just saying. If this wasn't RP.

Anyway, have some fire debris again.

Meanwhile, elsewhere, the skeleton does not seem to notice Soo-Won following it and Mob on its journey to the main pirate ship, currently right in the middle of a fight with the Howling Rose. Surely this is a good idea, since no cannons are currently being shot (rip) ]

Oh, that's the thing. The Captain told him long ago, but the Commodore rejected him for the sake of his family name. He really needed a fourth of that. So the Captain went off to the sea, which doesn't reject anyone out of heteronormativity. Still, he can't help himself. He has to antagonize the man he loves. It's his only way to interact with him without also getting immediately arrested and hung for crimes of piracy.

Anyway Ange is the fuckin MVP of this thread because Chiron lost a whole braincell to a kid, and even though he is a bit more on top of things now, he's only getting half of that braincell back. So he'll support Ange in her quest to put out the fire while keeping an eye on where the child is darting off to?

We all think so, but the last guy who told the captain that was made to walk the plank. It doesn't do anything, we're skeletons, but it's really annoying to climb back up afterwards.

[ From the pirate ship, it's hard to see the land, but yes, there are the silhouettes of the cloaked Leaders. Fox seems to be backing away while blowing wind towards people coming at them, Wolf has wrestled a sword from someone and is beheading and crushing skeletons skull while also throwing More Fire into the mix with fireballs as they run in the direction of Fox, and Rabbit has once again been kidnapped and is being carried elsewhere.

MEANWHILE, ON THE PIRATE SHIP ]

[ they grab a hat off a passing skeleton and put it on top of mob's head. if he was already wearing a pirate hat he is wearing a second one, i don't care. ] Anyway, if you want to see the captain, he should be over there. [ it gestures at the fort, then pauses. ] Huh, did he call for the Kraken? That's a first. He must be real mad at Jimmy again. I'll bring you guys over to wait in his quarters, though! And get you dressed up for a life of piracy, little guy.

[ there's a literal pirate battle happening around them, but it's in a different thread, so instead the skeleton is dragging Mob to give him a new outfit. ]

She's only got one dagger, which is really throwing her off, to be honest, but she's still fast and tough. [ On the barmaid side, which is not the pub, Fiona rushes in with the skeletons who have been patiently waiting for a horse this whole time, and so are a little put off when this metal woman comes in to save the day. That's just rude. The horse promised he'd be back?

She manages to catch one skeleton off guard but the other four rally around her, ready to fight with fists, swords, and also pistols, I don't know why they're even pretending to use fists, they have weapons. Because of this, they completely miss Homura sneaking back and getting to the barmaids. They sniffle but follow along with her instructions, sneaking behind the skeletons to try and find a safe place in this battlefield while profusely thanking Homura for saving them from the skeletons, the horse monster, and now this horrifying machine.

Why are we saving these barmaids again.

MEANWHILE, ON THE SHIP, WHICH IS STILL NOT THE PUB

The skeleton man is ignoring the discussion to put Mob in the cutest pirate outfit. There does seem to be a working cannon on this ship, though probably not in the Captain's quarters. There's a lot of skeleton pirates running around but they're very distracted by the battle with some other people in a different thread, so Soo-Won could actually sneak and attempt to steal a cannon. Those are super heavy so it's going to be hilarious to watch.

The pub belatedly explodes because of the alcohol and the fire, and it looks like fireworks, and it's very cool. ]

[ as it turns out, rushing straight into a bunch of enemies isn't the most strategically-sound maneuver, but Fiora isn't exactly known for that. She's quick to draw her dagger, which is so big it's basically a sword but the game calls them daggers for some reason, and gets ready for Mortal Kombat.

It's kind of exciting, actually?! She hasn't gotten to let loose in weeks, and she's even smiling. ]

All right, bring it on!

[ nobody in Xenoblade can shut up while they fight. In any case, she takes her blade and aims a swift blow at the nearest armed skeleton, hoping to hit it in the weapon arm. She's not so worried about getting punched, since she's mostly metal, but guns and swords are another matter... ]

Well, let's go check out the situation outside. Maybe we can go find out what a kraken is until then. That's where I intend to go for now.

I know you care about the Captain. And that must mean you know that what you're doing isn't the right way. When someone is making a decision that you know will only hurt them, you should speak your mind instead of just following them.

Aw, jeez... For some reason, when you're dressed like that, I just can't help but want to listen to you. Don't know why that is. [ it's because mob is the captain now. The skeleton looks around and nods ] Alright. You go save your little friends, and I'll start a mutiny... For the captain's sake. [ a beat ] Also, because I really want to go see a different town. This one is horrible. I can't stand eating crabs anymore. Get a new export!

[ the skeleton goes off, leaving them behind as it starts to rally its friend to stop the fighting because they're all being murdered anyway and jimmy is a douchebag (rip jimmy). Mob and Soo-Won are now free to commandeer whatever they want in Mob's very convincing captain cosplay.

MEANWHILE, WITH THE GIRLS.

Fiora is valiantly trying to fight off a crowd of skeletons all by herself, and she is mostly succeeding, except! More skeletons join the fight! Because they had nothing better to do now that all the booze is gone. RIP pub, this thread will never be the same. Luckily for Fiora, there is a convenient sword attached to a skeleton arm on the ground if Homura wants to help join the fray.

If she does, all the barmaids will suddenly oo and aaa and cheer for her as their new hero of all things horrible, like robot girls and evil horses and also skeletons.

there are more and more skeletons showing up, and while Fiora is confident in her fighting skills, she's not "fighting off an army of skeletons by herself" confident. The fighting is going well enough, but she's already tiring out. ]
