WEEK TWO: INVESTIGATION (?? remain) On Friday morning at 7am, all the doors will unlock and the participants may traverse between areas again. Participants will find that, as they leave wherever they slept, everything feels... unclear? Did they see whoever they were with? They can no longer remember. Even for those who spent the night alone, they can feel that something is off. It doesn't seem as though the Leaders are around, but at this point, everyone should realize what has happened. Time to investigate. ༶•┈┈⛧┈｡o°✥✣ 　　 ✣✥°o｡┈⛧┈┈•༶ Welcome to your third investigation! We will be posting top-levels for searchable locations—one set at 6pm EST and another set at 7pm EST. Each location will contain evidence to find, though it's up to your efforts as to whether you find all of it. Please coordinate investigation groups on Discord, as we ask that group threads consist of no more than 2-3 characters. We will stop tagging each top-level two hours after it went up, i.e. at 8pm and 9pm EST, respectively. Don't worry if you don't find everything! Characters will get the chance to revisit locations tomorrow at trial. At 9pm EST, an announcement will go up, confirming the victim(s). [well. elsa has spent enough time on this boat this week that she makes a beeline straight for it, gathering hua and sumi in the process of making her way. boat stuff.

even as she's approaching and boarding, she's got her eyes open for anything weird or strange. the sides, the crow's nest, in the water beneath, the ropes attaching to the pier... she's been here a lot. what nasty shit went down on their BOAT.]

[ Guess who slept here for curfew? This guy. So he's just fine with joining in on the investigation, in case he can spot anything amiss from the night before. Even if he is - more quiet than usual, at first. He's just here to get down to business!

He heads towards the stairs to the lower deck once they get started, since Elsa's got eyes on the immediate deck. So he's checking around the opening and the steps themselves as he gets closer. Anything on the way there, anything within the surrounding area of the entrance, anything to see as he descends? As he raises his hand to let the two of them know where he's goin. ]

[Following after them! She will mind her step as she approaches the boat, taking a look at the surrounding area, the boat's exterior, and the floor as she goes. Unless there's a corpse or something super duper suspicious right off the bat, Yoshizawa will walk to the other side of the deck to peer over the railing, and assure herself there's nothing in the waters there or just hanging overboard.

If nothing, then she will check out the cannons, the sails and the helm, nodding at Hua Cheng when he descends.]

[ As Elsa boards the ship/stands on the deck, nothing about the ship's sides, ropes, or what she can see of the crow's nest seem out of place at a glance.

Hua Cheng won't see anything in particular as he descends.

As for Yoshizawa--well, funny that you should ask if there's anything suspicious right off the bat! On the floor, there sure is a lot of blood. ]

caught up in looking at the exterior, elsa gasps, and nearly backpedals off the deck. but she's wearing big firm pirate boots? so the blood probably won't... but it's so much blood.

how is the blood laid out? like, body-dragging, or just a pool of blood? did someone dump their blood cocktail on on the poop deck? jesus christ.

also since the word of the day is suspicious, what the fuck ELSE is wackadoo gross, out of place, or just generally looking involved in a murder around her?]

[ A pause, because - even if he doesn't see anything, he sure hears something. Hua Cheng goes a few steps back, to see what's caused the reaction in, like, the both of them we're going to guess.

And Hua Cheng is just. Going to wonder how they missed that! This morning! ]

Ya have t'be kiddin' - [ Nope, shuts up. Where's that blood lead off to! ]

Hua Che— [Nope. He's gone. And she snaps her mouth shut. Since Elsa and Hua Cheng have the blood covered, Yoshizawa will take one paranoid look at the plank and overboard, and then move to the Captain's Quarters.

Is there anything suspicious outside of it or on the door? When she pushes the door open, will she notice anything immediately off?]

[ There's a lot of different types of blood if Elsa looks! Around where she is, I guess, there's a large splatter. As for whether there's anything else... well, that depends on where exactly she's looking!

As for Hua Cheng, again it depends, because he'll find both a trail of blood and bloodied footprints, not necessarily in the same direction.

Yoshizawa sees nothing suspicious on the outside. Nothing immediately off inside either, as I assume Hua Cheng wasn't having sex on the bed last night or anything. ]

well. now elsa is scoring the top deck of the rose. from the bow to the stern, she's walking along, investigating all the blood, carefully side-stepping as much as she can, to avoid, you know. making a trail of bloody footprints??? how is the blood laid out?

she looks around the mast, she pats and looks around the sails, she looks around the wheel, she looks around the entrances to the deck below. she does not lick any blood! but she's trying to get a scope for how much happened here—as nasty as it is, tbh?]

[ Well. Elsa goes one way, sumi goes the other.

Guess Huarr Cheng is going to go after those bloody prints, avoiding stepping in any of it himself to hopefully preserve the evidence as much as possible. He's looking around as he does - the ground, any railing, barrels, crates, etc ship words that I don't know the names of - just to keep an eye out for anything amiss or having more blood.

Don't worry about it sumi it's fine. ]

[Cool. She will check out the bed on top, under the covers and pillows, under the bed itself and on the sides. If there's nothing there, then she will move to inspect the table. It, too, will get a look from all directions, and she will check out the maps to make sure there's nothing different about them today, and that there's nothing hiding under them. Unless TIGER DID IT is written on blood somewhere on the maps or table, she will shimmy over to check out the chests and drawers. Are they still as locked as they were before? No damages or strange markings on them? Nothing hiding under them or whatever?

If there is absolutely nothing in the Captain's Quarters, she will join Hua Cheng downstairs to follow the other trail.]

[ Elsa can try but also I will stop her because she's infringing on Hua Cheng's territory. Anyway, there's the blood splatter, with maybe some things mixed in it, and a trail leading from said splatter. That's what I meant by different types of blood, you fools. I don't know how to answer when you ask how it's laid out because of that.

As for Hua Cheng, the bloody footprints start from around where the aforementioned trail ends, and they lead to the ship exit. Probably getting lighter as they go on, which is to say that you shouldn't read too much into why there are no bloody footprints outside of the ship.

Now you're all confusing your mod who has shitty spatial sense because I assumed Hua Cheng went back to the upper deck? I'm crying, where are y'all. But anyway, Yoshizawa finds nothing. ]

jokes aside elsa's looking at what's mixed in with the blood now, because, gross? she's getting very close, staring very intently at the blood.]

He. Sighs, as he heads towards the lower deck stairs again. ]

but no really when he actually goes below deck does he see anything, even checking the ceiling because now there's a ceiling! Is this part with the stairs the kitchen, the cannon hall, or the sleeping quarters. ]

[Rude. She was specifically checking out the trail that doesn't form footprints, but since Elsa has the deck covered, she will respect this wlw/mlm solidarity and follow Hua Cheng downstairs for real this time.

Since he has the kitchen, cannon hall and sleeping quarters covered, she will descend further down to check out the holding cells. Anything off down here? On the floor or inside the cells? She will even look at the ceiling and the stairs themselves, like a good girl.]

Hua Cheng and Yoshizawa descend into the middle deck. Nothing appears out of place at a glance!

As Yoshizawa goes further down, she will also see nothing out of place on the floor or inside the cells. Or on the ceiling, unless someone carved something like Hua Cheng ♥ Xie Lian last night but again, I presume not. ]

anyway, time to comb the deck again, since the truce between wlw and mlm has been achieved, and elsa is absolutely checking all the blood to see if it's also full of. bone and. brain.

how finely minced is this bone and brain matter? like, through a meat grinder? a blender?

is there any semblance of spread? is it just all over EVERYTHING on the deck, or contained to one area?]

[ Somewhere, from the mlm/wlw ether, a voice that sounds like Hua Cheng (not Huarr Cheng, let's make that clear) whispers memloss advice. She probably doesn't hear it because that's a fourth wall breech.

I'm crying mod because I don't know which area this is of the three in the middle deck but he's going to look around it. Is there anything to see in the grime and the - idk clutter, what area am I in, ]

[Nothing on, like, the cell bars themselves either, right? And nothing stuck in the cell locks? She will check the walls to see if someone carved Hua Cheng ♥ Xie Lian on them.

Anyway, if there is absolutely nothing in the holding cell area, she will move onto the cargo. She will take a cursory glance at the walls, floor, ceiling and the room itself. If there's nothing immediately off, she will shuffle off to check the ammunition and the items that are normally found in this room. Anything hiding between all of this?]

[ The gore is only in that one blood splatter area. However, there is a trail extending from said splatter, as if something was dragged...? It leads all the way over to the cannons.

I also don't know where Hua Cheng is but there is nothing in the grime.

Nothing on the cell bars or locks! But if she looks around the cargo hold, she might feel as though some things are missing? I don't know how much Yoshizawa normally keeps stock of the things here. ]

[elsa industriously follows the blood splatter trail over to the cannons, looking this way and that for anything discarded on the deck anywhere, including along the way. let's search these cannons, too.]

[ Still crying, I am just going to semi-speedrun the whole middle deck to make life easier.

Hua Cheng checks the kitchen area, looking around the storage for food and everything, the cooking equipment, under and behind any furniture and whatnot. Failing anything there, he'll go poke around the next section to see if there's anything in the equipment and cannons and ammunition that might seem amiss. ]

[She, unfortunately, does not take meticulous stock of what's in the cargo hold. Would she at least be able to get a vague sense of which items are missing some stock, even if not the exact amount?

The collection of chests will also get a look. Is there anything different about the chests if she takes a closer look? Or anything strange around or under them?]

Hua Cheng does not find anything amiss.

I'll be nice and let Yoshizawa at least Perceive that some rope is missing. There are some chests missing, but that's been the case since before Thursday. Y'all are thieves. ]
