WEEK ZERO: ARRIVAL
WEEK ZERO: ARRIVAL (43 remain) Whatever each character was doing—chatting with friends, going to bed, saving the world—ceases. In fact, it's likely nothing more than a groggy memory now, as they open their eyes to unfamiliar surroundings. Apparently, they took a nap right in the middle of a small town, plopped outside on the paved road. Ow? Oh, but it looks like they've been given a goodie bag. Everyone likes gifts, right? Inside, it contains:
- packets of tea - one unlabeled pill - a rock that resembles the galaxy - if they're of age, a mini bottle of alcohol; if they're underage, a can of Mountain D*w Baja Blast instead - a singular condom - a single random one of these pillows (how did this fit?) - a handheld device Should they boot up the device, the screen helpfully informs them that it's a Participant Help System (PHS). Not much on it, but it does have a few apps, including a memo one for taking notes. There's also a messaging system, though it's only capable of receiving messages, not sending any. As a matter of fact, there's an alert for a new message already. Maybe it'll explain what's going on. Good evening, everyone. Uh, how are we sure theyāre arriving in the evening? Just say āhelloā! Or āgreetingsā! Greetings is fancy, right? Oh thatās true. Greetings, everyone. Thatās better? Yes! Except maybe we take out the thatās better part in the final version. Will do! Er, what? Unfortunately, it seems as though that's the only info they're given for now. In the meantime, why not explore the surrounding area? A number of buildings are locked, and the Planetarium appears to be closed, but there's enough to keep the characters occupied for a day or two. They might even want to get to know their fellow "participants" better, while they're at it. |

[He's just going to walk up, approaching, but half hanging back while she slams against the door.]
What're you doing? Please be careful!
no subject
...but she'll at least stop when he speaks up!]
I'm trying to get inside.
[Her voice is pretty raspy and quiet-sounding! Hm, maybe she has a sore throat?]
no subject
It's locked. That's probably why.
no subject
Mmhm. That's why I want to get inside.

Hey! Let me help. [nyoom...as he approaches the door, he looks it over and attempts to open it himself.] You think if we did it together we'd have better luck?

[Yona is ignoring the fact that her voice is all kinds of raspy and gross, just like she's ignoring the fact that her clothing is singed and there's burns on her hands. She's more focused on trying to bust this door open.]
no subject
[AND SO THEY CHARGE...and immediately do zero damage to this door.]

Hey there, little lady, you'd better not sit in the middle of the road like this. Ya seem hurt, need a hand with that?
[He holds out a hand to help her up.]

[Her voice is raspy as all hell. She is not okay.
But she's sure acting like she is! She seems more confused by all the stuff she's taking out of the goodie bag than anything else.]
What is all of this, anyway?
no subject
[Honestly... kids these days.]
I can only assume they're welcome gifts from our captors.

H-Hey! [WHY ARE YOU SLIGHTLY CRISPY, YONA.] Are you alright? Those burns...
red means she can keep sitting there, it's fine
[Her voice sounds raspy as all heck, but she's smiling. So it's probably fine? Anyway, she holds up the PHS.]
What is this supposed to be? Do you know?
no subject
[YONA, YOUR VOICE... She frowns, about to argue — but then she's showing her the PHS? Well, okay.]
Um... A smartphone? I think. It doesn't seem like it can send messages, though. [Which is, you know, bad. After a pause:] Can you stand up, miss?

Hey—enough of that! What in the world are you doing?

[She says, matter-of-factly. Pay no attention to her raspy voice or the singed parts of her clothing.]
It's a little sturdier than I thought it would be.
no subject
She reaches out to tug her sleeve to survey the burn damage. ]
Um, sorry, but you don't sound like you're in any shape to be a human battering ram. It's obviously not doing any good anyway.

Huh... You gotta, like, take a running start, maybe? Build up speed and all that! You can do it! Let's try again!

Hey now, you shouldn't be doing that if you're injured!

I can try to open it if you'll stop trying to hurt yourself. Maybe take a break, okay?
