WEEK TWO: TRIAL (35 remain) Rise and shine, gremlins. Hopefully you found it in you to make and eat breakfast, despite yesterday's news. At 11am, everyone will receive a message on their PHS, simply stating: This is your reminder to be at the Emporium by 12 PM. Shortly before 12pm, every participant will feel compelled to move towards the Emporium, if they aren't already there. No exceptions! Though they will have to navigate around shelves and merchandise and the like, everyone will fit neatly inside the room. Once all the participants are present and the clock strikes twelve, the doors lock behind them. Three of the Leaders are there with them: Wolf, Rabbit, and Fox. Fox speaks. "... For the next nine hours, the characters are expected to discuss among themselves, ask questions, examine the bodies of the victims, look over the evidence found yesterday, and revisit locations as needed in order to find the culprit(s). There'll be a one hour break from 5-6pm EST, where no mod tags will occur. Before the trial is over, please remember to place your character's vote over on the voting page. anyway! after a nice brisk walk. ] Let's try to cover as much ground as we can. I'd like to check the hold, first, if that's alright.

[ so, he's heading down that way... last night, he and someone in pc land had to take a lap, and part of it included looking through the hold and taking stock of what was down there in case something happened. let me tell you, that was a pc tag that did not age very well.

would anything be immediately noticeably missing? let's check the ammunition first, and then the other variety of items...!]

[to which soo-won's going to check all the masts of the ship!! is there any evidence that someone's been setting to climbing or anything like that, any marks on the wood or blood splatters on it]

[While those two are doing that, Shiro is going to inspect where the body was found. Starting off with the footprints of blood, he'll put his foot next to one and compare the size. He's also going to compare the spacing between the footsteps to his own walking stride, to get a sense of how fast the person was walking away as well as maybe an indication of stride length.]

[ There's no obvious mark or blood on the wooden masts for Soo-Won. :(

The footstep is about the same size as Shiro's. The spacing and stride length seems to indicate about normal walking speed.

Xie Lian may notice, since he did a check on thursday night, that on top of the missing rope Yoshizawa noticed yesterday, some ammunition seems to be missing. ]

[ about how much? also, what kind? big bullets? little ones? is it a whole box that's gone or just a couple random ones? he's gonna take one so they can compare it to anything they find.... are there any weapons missing, too? or just ammunition?

are there any spots that might have been disturbed? location says this place wasn't cleaned super well, so, can you see places where fabric might have swiped against a box, or random handprints or WOLF DID IT (THE PERSON, NOT THE NPC) written in dust or something?? any new random stains? ]

but soo-won will continue his adventure upward!! how do you even get up to a crow's nest, do you need to use rope to do so??? if so he'll try to head upward and try to be careful of anything that might seem odd as he's on his way up. anything going on with the sails of the ship?]

[Are there any clearly visible tread-imprints from the shoes worn? also, he's trying to memorize the general outline of the imprint, so he can visually compare it to the shape of people's shoes later (if possible).]

[ shiro is out there thinking either players or mods know what the bottom of shoes look like. hilarious. it looks like generic footprints of approximately shiro's same size that were walking away from the cannons and back towards the docks.

gun ammunition is missing. like. pirate pistol sized. xie lian will also find a written note in the dust that says "wolf the npc did it", by which I mean that there's no obvious pattern to the dust or any new stains.

soo-won won't find anything on the sails, but climbing up all the way to the crow's nest will net him...........

missing rope and missing bullets, then. he's going to ascend back up, looking for any handprints or blood on the stairs/hand railings... or more gloves, i guess?

onto the middle deck, then. it just said nothing out of place at a glance in the thread, so let's do a more thorough check of the sleeping quarters first. anything in the beds? any more weird, suspicious stains? fantasy pirate cosmos hidden under beds? and then, same with the kitchen - anything in cabinets, food containers...?? is there another bloody sink? ]

but he's going to check out the vantage point from the crow's nest actually! when he looks back down, will he be able to see anything differently from a bird's eye view compared to on the deck? is there anything else on the sail rigging or ropes around the ship itself? i don't know ship terms i'm sorry.]

Now that he's done with the footprints, Shiro is going to go check the cannon where they found Laine. He's looking on it, around it, under it, etc. Anything dropped, any handprints, etc. He's thinking whoever dragged Laine there had to get their hands dirty, so if they leaned against something standing up there might be a handprint.]

the gloves are normal and boring. not even any blood. it's just more gloves. there's nothing else that soo-won can see from his vantage point even if either of us did know ship terms.

there's nothing around the cannon!!! well except blood. there's a lot of blood, but that was already there. ]

if not, he's heading back up to the deck to check out that gross blood splatter again, the one with the viscera. is there a center impact point? do the brains and blood all kind of gather in one spot? he's calling out to soo-won if he's still up there in the crow's nest. ]

Won! Can you get back up and down easily? Do you think you can throw something down at the ground from where you are?

[ xie lian is fiddling around in his sleeves where he's just standing near all of this nasty ass viscera and pulls out... a tomato! it's a little squishier than it should be? it's probably been in there for a few days. it's fine.

similarly is there actually anything on the higher rafters(????) of the ship that would be approximately above where that splatter is? i googled ship parts and then rejected them]

[ There's nothing on the deck besides blood and body matter! And since you guys made me google how tall a crow's nest is, I'll tell you the distance is about 65 feet based off someone guesstimating on the black pearl of all things because it varies wildly and we don't know pirate ships.

Also, while Soo-Won's aim and accuracy is great, the phone juuuuuust slips on the tips of Xie Lian's fingers when he goes to catch it because he has a tomato in one hand, so it bounces off the deck and into the ocean. Yeet.

Anyway there's nothing hidden on the rafters or anything else either. ]

OH BUT OKAY ACTUAL CLARIFICATION POINT - from the crow's nest to the blood splatter where xie lian was, would it be conceivable that a body could be thrown that distance? would it have been possible with a slight shove out of the crow's nest or would it need force?]

you'd have to shove someone pretty hard to get them to fall off a crow's nest since there's a barrier up to a grown man's waist, and yeeting a phone is not a great test of how a body would fall. but unless they yeeted someone off the crow's nest that same way it wouldn't reach, because that's not how gravity works. it'd be a lot straighter and probably a body would hit some of the masts on the way down if they were pushed off. ]
