WEEK THREE: INVESTIGATION

WEEK THREE: INVESTIGATION (?? remain) On Friday morning at 7am, all the doors will unlock and the participants may traverse between areas again. Participants will find that, as they leave wherever they slept, everything feels... unclear? Did they see whoever they were with? They can no longer remember. Even for those who spent the night alone, they can feel that something is off. It doesn't seem as though the Leaders are around, but at this point, everyone should realize what has happened. Time to investigate. ༶•┈┈⛧┈｡o°✥✣ 　　 ✣✥°o｡┈⛧┈┈•༶ Welcome to your fourth investigation! We will be posting top-levels for searchable locations—one set at 6pm EST and another set at 7pm EST. Each location will contain evidence to find, though it's up to your efforts as to whether you find all of it. Please coordinate investigation groups on Discord, as we ask that group threads consist of no more than 2-3 characters. We will stop tagging each top-level two hours after it went up, i.e. at 8pm and 9pm EST, respectively. Don't worry if you don't find everything! Characters will get the chance to revisit locations tomorrow at trial. At 9pm EST, an announcement will go up, confirming the victim(s). [ she sighs but she heads over in the direction of the cute petting zoo... provided there isn't something super distracting when they get there. ]

[ Nothing seems out of place at a glance in the village, even as Sora looks around the bonfire and Hilda heads over to the petting zoo. ]

We'll get this done as fast as possible. [that's said to hilda, but he begins to walk past the fire and toward the streams a little ways away. people keep dumping evidence in the water, so maybe...]

Go ahead and check the clothing shop. Maybe the food shop too?

Yeah. [ ok well zuko is going to check the food area first, then head into the clothing store to suspiciously check through all the clothing and everything ]

As nice as it is that you guys are worrying about me... let's keep working.

[ words she never thought she'd say. it is a nice gesture though! at least she's not dead. anyway, is there anything weird inside the pen? all the animals intact? are they looking peaceable? anything up in the sky roof (sroof?) ]

[ The animals are fine and their home has apparently been undisturbed. The sroof is fine.

There doesn't appear to be anything dumped in the stream.

Sipp is trying to cheat by being vague, but I'm not going to let you. Nothing out of place at a glance about the food area, but assuming Zuko immediately moves on to the clothing store: if he looks through the front clothing racks, the clothing seem fine and no dead body is hidden among them. ]

If you say so. [he concedes to that at least. no more fussing then, but since there's nothing in the water...how're the fishing poles and nets? everything still there? he'll check the streams again before looping back to the bonfire.

can he get close enough to see if there's maybe anything thrown into it?]

[ zuko is going to thoroughly search all the kigus and the traditional clothing -- checking them each individually, as well as the area itself, under all the racks, etc. if there's any kind of changing room or register or back room he's checking those too!! there i'm not being vague stop bullying me and answer my question ]

[ hilda is going to go follow up on the restaurant area since zuko apparently SUCKS and didn't check it. she hates doing this stuff, but they may as well try and do it right...

anything on the floor or up in the ceiling if she looks around? or off about the furnishings and food? ]

[ Everything is still there re: fishing supplies, and the streams have not changed since Sora last looked at them. The fire looks like... fire. If there's anything in it, it's not visible.

Zuko's search gets him nothing until he looks towards the back, where he finds a charred and bloody kigurumi, hung neatly.

Hilda finds nothing on the floor or up in the ceiling, and nothing looks off about the furnishings or food. Unless she wants to try eating some? ]

[reconnective]

[okay. since there's nothing here exactly, he will wander toward the clothing shop where zuko's still digging...and he will pick up a lion kigu and hold it for safe-keeping. his now.]

Hey when you're done here can you go smell the fire? I want to double-check nothing was burned or anything.

[he will be surprised whenever zuko finds the charred and bloody kigu. hilda is on her own for a sec.]

[ charred and bloody.... zuko will take a closer look at it, frowning. he'll also look around the back to see if there's anything else out of place! ]

Something was burned. This.

[ hilda is not going to eat anything, stop trying to poison us. anyway unless there is another set of paired drinks sitting around, she's going to go. are there any meat skewers or something she can poke the fire with?

anyway, for now she's off to those guard posts for real. what are they like—does she see anything off if she goes to stand at one?

[ Zuko looks around and sees nothing else out of place.

You can't say I didn't try, Nu. Unfortunately, there isn't another set of drinks. She can take a meat skewer and poke the fire if she wants, but it doesn't achieve anything.

The guard posts look normal, and now she sees a nice view, I suppose. Not much else, though. ]

Uh. Okay...? [he holds onto his own kigu a little tighter as he pokes at the one zuko found. any cuts or tears or slashes in it? what size of a person would this kigu possibly fit?]

You don't think they threw a person into the fire, do you?

They better not have.

[ zuko is looking up at the ceiling and doing one last check of the store !!! he will also go to the fire to sniff it before our time is up ]

[ wow! what a nice view. she enjoys the breeze through her hair for a second before rounding around to the village proper.

anything off about the various open buildings? any mysteriously... closed, i guess? any BLOOD or footprints between the various locations that she'd notice while she's walking around? ]

[ To be honest, the enough of the kigu has been burned off that it's hard to tell if there was any other damage to it, and all Sora can tell is that it probably wasn't (originally) tiny or huge.

Zuko sniffs the fire. It just smells like fire, which I'm sure he knows well.

Hilda sees nothing as she walks around, and there's nothing off about the various open buildings and none are mysteriously closed. ]

Hold onto that, okay? [with that said, he'll walk out of the store and look to where hilda is.]

Anything?

[he will start wandering toward the savanna and checking the paths there to make sure nobody threw anything in the beginnings of the open area.]

Yeah..... sure. [ ok i just want to confirm if there's any other kind of scent from the fire... like flesh! or fabric! because zuko would be able to tell? does the fire look any bigger or smaller than it did before? ]

[ then he'll go join hilda and start looking inside the inside of buildings without actually going in to see if anything's there... ]

Just the.. outfit.

[ she'll go out in the other direction of sora—anything towards the tree? is there a leopard? has it eaten a body? ]

[ Sora finds nothing.

It smells like fire!!! That isn't your mod being coy, that's me saying there's nothing in it. You're fine.

Zuko finds nothing in the buildings.

Hilda finds nothing, unless you really wanted her to get attacked by a leopard right now. ]

[well...did they really just find a lot of nothing besides the kigu? it's such a big space he's just. HE WILL CHECK THE GROUND CLOSELY FOR FOOTPRINTS OR DRAG MARKS OR BLOOD MIXED IN THE DIRT?

he will also hop into the penned area to check the petting zoo. maybe there's a conveniently placed cow on top of the murderer's name written in the dirt.]

[ ok well zuko is going to also check for any kind of tracks or marks anywhere, and he's also going into the petting zoo himself to check the ground and around the animals..... he will pet the animals too. ]

[ is that an earnest offer? mods give me the leopard? in the meantime, i guess hilda will go look at the river again. anything off around shore? ]
