WEEK FOUR: INVESTIGATION (?? remain) On Friday morning at 7am, all the doors will unlock and the participants may traverse between areas again. Participants will find that, as they leave wherever they slept, everything feels... unclear? Did they see whoever they were with? They can no longer remember. Even for those who spent the night alone, they can feel that something is off. It doesn't seem as though the Leaders are around, but at this point, everyone should realize what has happened. Time to investigate. ༶•┈┈⛧┈｡o°✥✣ 　　 ✣✥°o｡┈⛧┈┈•༶ Welcome to your fifth investigation! We will be posting top-levels for searchable locations—one set at 6pm EST and another set at 7pm EST. Each location will contain evidence to find, though it's up to your efforts as to whether you find all of it. Please coordinate investigation groups on Discord, as we ask that group threads consist of no more than 2-3 characters. We will stop tagging each top-level two hours after it went up, i.e. at 8pm and 9pm EST, respectively. Don't worry if you don't find everything! Characters will get the chance to revisit locations tomorrow at trial. At 9pm EST, an announcement will go up, confirming the victim(s). (Just gonna... Start the hike!! And flee the girl with the gun. ANYTHING ON THIS PATH THEY'RE TAKING? Footsteps? Blood? Dropped items?

Uh, also just keeping a general eye out on their surroundings because... what's really out on this mountain? ITS A DESERT MOUNTAIN???)

[ They start the hike, and find nothing along the way. Except for random bushes and trees, I suppose.

Further ahead/higher up on the mountain, they may hear noises. ]

[He like. Glances back when Clem pulls out a gun but. Since she doesn't shoot him, he doesn't care. He is not planning to talk again this whole thread.

So just walking straight toward those noises. Is it a Yeti? (Wrong land)]

[ if claude hadn't Done That she might be interested in making mob talk more? ....... but now she's too annoyed so she's just going to focus on investigating. but maybe it's a curfew effect on claude... maybe he really can't help it...

she isn't putting away her gun, though. she's ready to shoot whatever is making noise if it's dangerous, and also is going to try to get in front of mob for whatever is up ahead. ]

(The truly unfortunate thing is that even if this is a a curfew effect, he would still say boo to little kids just for a reaction bc this is true golden deer chaos energy.

He's got his bow ready!! Because of course that's with him since he's coming back from where ever he spent his curfew time at.

[ At the peak of the mountain, since that's where everyone is now, Clementine and Claude point their weapons at... a pterodactyl! Something appears to be tied to one of its legs. It was just chilling, but since it's now being THREATENED, it screeches and leaps into the air, ready to attack. ]

[exercisms]

[FRANTICALLY CHECKING WHO WAS IN PTEODACTYL GROUP, while Mob holds up his hands defensively. Glancing at Clem, glancing at the pterodactyl. Sighing. Saying, in a soothing voice.]

Shhh, little varmint.

[To Clem - ]

I reckon you're frightening her, darling.

[ she is so thrown off by being called darling by this kid that she momentarily lowers her gun?? she was going to shoot that pterodactyl but i guess it's claude's job now ]

(Dinosaurs? But he can't finish his sentence because it's screeching and coming at them? So like Clem, he was 500% ready to shoot but he also respects and loves nature like a good boy so

he'll lower his bow and give Clem a glance. If this goes wrong, she'll have to shoot first.

He holds up a hand and tries to speak softly at the pterodactyl... )

Alright, friend. Hey, no one's gonna hurt you. (Be a good flying lizard bird thing. DO THESE DINOSAURS HAVE ACCURATE FEATHERS OR ARE THEY OLD SCHOOL DINOS... me realizing I don't really know.) Let's see what you've got there...

[ I'm glad Mob remembered that this is probably someone's pet, but y'all can still kill it and make someone very sad if you want?

When Claude is no longer threatening it, it seems to... calm down? Mob helps, but something about Claude especially seems to pacify it. It will let Claude and Claude alone approach it. Definitely not Clementine, though. ]

[He can't help it, Clem!! Anyway, looks at the dino. Looks at Claude. Looks at the dino.

she also isn't, like, eager to shoot something, so she's happy step back to give claude and that dino space. if it's not a threat, it's fine, jeez. ]

So who was dealing with pterodactyls?

(Me, knowing who was in pterodactyl group and being filled with fear.

Ah, Claude will approach then! He'll hold out his arms to try and catch the pterodactyl and if it lets him, he'll try to check whatever it is around its leg.

HE IS ALSO VERY CONCERNED RIGHT NOW BECAUSE HE KNOWS WHO WAS IN THE GROUP so sorry if he's not answering Clem right away,)

Hikaru was. Homura and Usagi, too, I think.

[ Tied around the pterodactyl's leg is a piece of paper, held by a white ribbon.

Other than that, the only thing of note up here is a patch of damp soil. ]

[Well, Mob will go over and inspect that patch of damp soil. What does it look like?]

[ yeah clem will wander over there too, since she's no help with the dino. what's it damp with?

water? blood? does it look like something is buried underneath? ]

(Then I guess Claude will check the paper.

Can he tell where the paper is from? Does it look like it was torn out of a book or anything? He's going to undo the ribbon and see if anything is written on it.

Most importantly this is his dinosaur now he's going to carry it the rest of investigation.)

[ The damp soil looks like it's been disturbed, so you can decide if that means something is buried underneath or not. The liquid is colourless, so it's probably water. Again, to know for sure, you must lick.

The paper does look like it was torn from a book! One side has instructions from the inn’s memory book. The other side says: dont remember anymore. ill talk. theyll be looking. im gonna find my way back. im sorry niichan. ]

[That's cool. Well. He takes a really close look at what the soil looks like - how big the disturbed area is, whether there's any strange marks or dents. But assuming it's just normal - he'll start digging with his hands?]

[ clementine is not licking dirt, but she'll help dig.

how big is this disturbed area. is it like. body sized. i hate this. ]

2. he definitely knows who wrote this

(AAAAAAH HE HATES THIS and while Clem and Mob are digging? Is there still more mountain up ahead because he's going to start to head off further to see if anything is up there if there is. He won't leave Clem or Mob behind but LOOK THAT'S HIS SISTER im crying)

[ There is nowhere else to go on the mountain. You're already at the peak!

The disturbed dirt is fairly large, like it could maybe hold a small body. Mob and Clementine dig and dig, but after a couple of feet in, they still find nothing. ]

[Haha! Also, just checking because I'm worried I'm dumb. By disturbed you mean it looks like it was dug up and put back, right? It's not like - an impression in the ground from something hitting it?

Like I'll still keep digging with Mob's sweet hands because I don't trust any mods, but. Hmm.

Also, he looks alarmed and sad when Claude mentions Hikaru, but he says nothing so he doesn't have to say something fucking ridiculous. He just glances at Claude and then keeps going.]

[ clem also doesn't answer because the answer is no, but she doesn't spend much time around hikaru, so it doesn't seem like a helpful contribution.

she will also continue to dig because i saw those other threads where people had to dig for several tags. >:( ]

(Just gonna return back to Clem and Mob then! Aaah why is this dirt hole so big.

He's still holding this pterodactyl so he can't help to dig unless he lets it go? He's petting the pterodactyl and going to ask it very nicely because surely if we speak from the heart even people and animals can understand each other--)

Can you tell us where to look?
