WEEK FIVE: MINGLE

WEEK FIVE: MINGLE (29 remain) Rise and shine, gremlins. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and it's the start of a new week. To the participants, yesterday's events may seem distant now—albeit not as distant as their life before this. Whether or not they notice, they will have lost a memory upon waking up. The barrier to the north is down, and beyond the bridge lies new areas to explore. Strangely, what was there last week seems to have been replaced overnight. That's not the only thing that's different, either. The participants will find that their lodgings have changed. Finally, should anyone check their PHS, Alyssa, Hikaru, and Bucky's profiles have been removed. Three Leaders can be found around the area, open (?) to approach. If participants want to speak to them more privately, or to an absent Leader, it looks like they'll have to go through another channel. Furthermore, it looks as though the rules have updated. On that note, if your character did not stay, please make sure to check your notifs. Once again, participants may find that they have difficulty recalling complete details of the past weeks. Finally, participants will find that they now have another pet to take care of. Small creatures (based on any animal of player choice, real or mythical) will be following them around all week. However, these creatures are emotionally tied to their participant, so whatever the person they are connected to is feeling, they will outwardly display it. Angry? They will be hostile. Happy? So are they! Even more, they will react to other participants based on how theirs feels about the other. Anyone their participant loves, they will also love. Hope you don't secretly hate anyone, that might be awkward.

[He doesn't think anything of it, and then very suddenly realizes what Chiron will probably do.]

Whoa, no, no, no! [He throws his arms out to grab Chiron by the arms.] Hold on one second, Archer.

You sprained your-- [hoof?] --ankle, let's not get over-confident.

[his deer is also giving him a look like "really, dad?" so Chiron is being shamed from two different directions, and sighs]

My apologies... I am not used to... [A squint]

I'm not used to a great many things, it seems.

[He shakes his head a little, but will stay put.]

Shall I follow after you, then?

[papasha]

[This is the worst thing that could have happened, MARIE.]

It's all right. Follow me, and I'll lead us out. Try not to put too much weight on that leg, okay?

[He will turn to lead, but, like, not get extremely far ahead because he doesn't trust Chiron not to fall. What's he going to do when it happens? He doesn't know, but he'll cross that bridge when he gets to it.]

[I have done NOTHING WRONG IN MY LIFE!!!

Chiron will move slowly and gingerly at Blanca's request, and... ever see a horse limp? That's what he's doing. It is not exactly graceful but at least some part of him seems to have remembered how he's supposed to move, because he doesn't topple. At least not yet. Just redistribute his weight to keep upright.

All the while the deer will keep in step with him, encouraging.]

No need to apologize. It isn't any trouble.

[Both the dog and Blanca are hyper-focused on making sure Chiron doesn't go so fast there's a slip up, and also on navigating the maze.]

You weren't out here long, were you?

A half hour, at most.

[So not too long, all things considered. Could have been worse]

I was more concerned this little one would get lost in the maze trying to find someone for me.

[Nodding at the deer who is still sticking to Chiron's side like glue]

... It seems we've all been gifted with companions, I take it?

That seems to be the case, yes. They somehow feel... a bit more personal? If that makes sense.

[At least, his dog does, but he isn't sure if anyone else has the same sort of feeling.]

It does. I am very ... attached to mine.

[Is Chiron's inner soul a baby deer or is he just always so happy to take care of something that it's manifested in such a way? Who knows.

But he smiles down at her, and she gives a little hop in her step]

Perhaps they will be allowed to stay a while even when the week ends.

[Chiron... soft. Just like a baby deer. The little deer hop makes him laugh some, admittedly.]

They would be rather nice to have around.

[Even if their livelihood kind of worries him... considering... things that happen here. Wow.]

He doesn't really give Chiron much opportunity to stop and consider the prospects of having a horse bottom half.]

[this is that meme of a young girl walking her senile grandmother back to bed and I hate this.]

How fortunate; I do not want to imagine how long this would take if I had been further in.

[ha ha 😌 wouldn't that be terrible having to guide Chiron as he kept looking back at his horse legs]

Much as I would have preferred to explore more, perhaps it's best I stick to the forests.

[He would just lead his senile geriatric grandpa back out of the maze.]

We can come back maybe, if you stay off your leg and it gets better. Make sure you come back with someone else, even if it isn't me. Preferably someone who can help get you up if you take another tumble.

[Blanca, that's only like three people here in this god forsaken place. It's fine.]

He's a very strong and handsome man. If he isn't sweeping you off your feet to begin with, then he'll be able to help get you back up.

[Two people can be cheeky, okay.]

On occasion, he is very good at that, yes.

[closes eyes at all of this sass]

[See. Why are you booing him, he's right?

He gestures to the opening of the maze entrance once they get around a few turns. Tada.]
